@shawncro 222: Mate, you are obviously a fanboy. I have owned every Sony and Microsoft console and you are clearly talking out of your bum.

          Your claims…

"PSN charges a fortune" = wrong, as pointed out above. Same price as XB Live (cheaper RRP)

"Horrible leaks of personal data at least once a year" = wrong. There have been leaks, but they don't happen at least once a year. It's also happened to Microsoft before

"overall multiplayer experience sucks" = what are you even on about? Some games have a bigger population on one console or the other. I've noticed no difference in stability, or lag, or overall multiplayer experience between the two platforms. Infrastructure is one of Micrsofots strengths, but if they're using P2P netcode it makes little difference.

Again, you are clearly biased and pushing a pro-Xbox anti-Sony agenda. Ozbargain is a place for accurate information, so leave the bias at the door and stick to the gaming forums buddy.

          @Poimandres:

Xbox is truly better for online but Sony catching up Microsoft started early online since the original Xbox era.

As for personal information getting leaked thru the Sony servers hackers warned Sony but Sony did nothing the information was clearly not secured and easily grabbed

          Name/address/phone/credit card/dateofbirths/ all in one
Was a major blow at the time the ps3 was hacked

I there way they are both a good console apart from exclusive,s

@stussy: You are a much more measured poster :)

In the PS3/360 days, Microsoft easily had Sony beat with the online experience. Almost every game ran better, the system OS and store was more stable, good player base in Australia etc. But I think Sony stepped up their game this generation and Microsoft lost some of their advantages. Any XB1 game that provides dedicated servers is going to run very well online for sure, but most of their recent releases are disappointingly P2P so if there are less players in Australia (because less consoles sold) you're going to feel the pinch. At least the XB1 is doing pretty well in AUS based on numbers that have been released so it's not a big deal but it is interesting that a game can be almost dead on one platform vs thriving on another.

But yes… all about the balance and what you want out of a console. Trying to paint it as one thing "sucks" and the other is "amazing" is one sided garbage. As bad as Apple vs Android.

        • ahem.. see above for facts, rather than this xbox fanboy rubbish - it's like Mac users saying they don't have viruses.

BOTH LIVE and PSN have had leaks, BOTH have 2 factor authentication for more security.

None of them do true 4K gaming. They both upscale to 4K; by stretching the image to fill the TV screen. The Xbox One S does double up as a 4K movie player so if you find yourself with some UHD movie discs in the future you can watch them on the Xbox One S.

Otherwise they're both fine gaming consoles, each with their own nice selection of exclusive games.

They both have their own features. With the Xbox One S there is Backwards Compatibility where you can play Xbox 360 games. Play Anywhere which entitles you to two copies of a game when you buy digitally; one for Xbox One and one for Windows 10 (only Microsoft first-party titles so far).

On the PS4 one feature I really like is Remote Play, where you can play your PS4 games on a Vita or Xperia phone/tablet. As an owner of several Sony products around the house I also like how easy it is to set them up to communicate with each other.

You choose what you think you'll use, there is really no bad purchase here with either one.

      • Oh, so with ps4 slim it wont use the fullscreen of my 4k tv? Just a portiin?

        • 3zzy, no it upscales, so takes the image and blows it up essentially to fill your 4k resolution

      • You can do this on the Xbox One as well Erkel

Plants vs Zombies have the ability to use a "third Player" remotely

        Nothing flash but its fun

Overall the PS4 and Xbox One share the same Processor / GPU anyway, just clocked at different speeds
what the fanboys don't really understand is that ironically the only difference is the titles / experiences and multiplayer setups

Well, its a good deal if you can find any stock on next month. Like their last deal 99% of the stocks gone before the selling day.

  • Still waiting for the Atmos update that Microsoft promised would be delivered to the Xbox One S…

    • +1

It will be, its under testing
      Have some patience

      • Thank you good sir. I'm excited

xbox one S doesn't support Dolby Amos .So not for Hometheatre.

    • +1

Yet it is being tested now and going to be released this year.

    • +1

      Will do soon. :)

    • to pander to the console fanboyism so rampant in this thread - the PS4 has had Dolby Atmos pass-through since 2015 :)

Average deal at best. 500gb is tiny you will use it up with 3 games. I bought the 1tb version with 4 games(GOW Ultimate edition Forza horizon 3 halo 5 & Skyrim special edition) for $429. Oh and Superman v Batman 4k blu ray.

    • +5

I have about 10-15 games in 500gb, nice "over exaggeration"

Easy enough to put a 2 or 3TB external USB 3.0 drive on anyway
      Moot point

Where are you downloading 150+GB games from?

  • Damn!

Horizon: Zero Dawn is exclusive to PS4!

  • +2

The deal for Minecraft have an PS4 logo!
Cant seems to find the catalog in store yet for the deal.

  • Wow, so cheap.

  • That's a good deal. But I'm glad to find XBox One S 500GB with Gears of War 4 (full download) for $270 from BestBuy (Canada). The best thing was that it was shipped free in Canada and a friend brought it along.

    • Cool.

  • This is the deal I've been waiting for, too bad I forgot to save for it.

  • Why is there a ps4 logo at the top right of the deal?

  • Went into my local store today at lunch and showed guy the offer, he's put a console aside for me and he grabbed a physical copy of BF1 for me to pick up tomorrow (which is a bonus as I can lend to a mate if needed instead of it being digital only).

Side note… All i did was show him the white poster-thing on my phone when you click on 'go to deal', what's to stop someone photo-shopping that .pdf and adding extra things?!

    • +1

is that guy at local store your mate?

      • No, had a different woman this morning. She went to the back and brought out the console with a BF1 download card instead. Also had an EA access card thing too.

  • +1

Isn't the BigW bundle with 6 games a much better deal?

    • Depends if you like those games. A few of the six are similar. BF1 is arguably more popular than most of those 6 games too.

      • Fair enough.

went target parramatta westfield, they had no clue about offer and said it might be online only.
called target customer service and they suggested its for minecraft bundler only, not the battlefield 1

  • Got 2 Battlefield 1 bundles from Target with staff discount.
Best price, after selling Battlefield 1.

  • Got one from innaloo wa. Xbox one s 500gb battlefield one bundle. Asked her if i can have hard copy of game she said don't have in stock but gave me a Halo 5 hard copy for free. Iam happy :)

    • very lucky!
