    Warning: May be kinky

Which section are these in, the hosiery aisle?

    • +12

      Reely ?

    • +1

I was willing to risk a little kinkyness to get more bang for my buck

    • +7

Mine aren't kinky. They call me a pimp because I look after my hoes hose.

      • I'm looking forwards to water sports!

    $25 @ Woolworths.
    Made in Poland. lol

    • +19

Do you have something against the Polish hose industry?

      • +35

Of course not… who else could make a Hose for an iconic Australian Brand that is UV stabilized for Australian conditions than someone 14,932 km away?

Not like I'm giving them a spray or anything.

        lol

@superforever: he only drives a holden, which probably has an engine that comes from the US, or a crapheap from Korea, or maybe an Opel that no one wants to work on from Germany

        • +1

@Jackson: Pretty sure holdenmg doesn't drive a Holden.

        • +4

          @Baysew: I don't have a Holden

      Dude, are you for reel?

      • So 20m hose reel not enough?

        • Sorry - bad joke. A 20m reel should accommodate a 12m hose, no problems.

        • +2

          @Dalton:

But this one is 30m ….

        • +6

@superforever: Cut hose in half for two hoses!

        • @Dalton:
But can it accommodate a 30m long and 12mm wide hose too. :)

        • +1

@superforever: Ah, yes. So what are you planning? Not rolling on the last 10m?

If you're trying to save money, perhaps you could find something else to roll your hose on to? I've seen people use old car wheel rims and cable bobbins before. Perhaps that's the way to go?

        • +4

          @Dalton:

maybe he lives in a suburb where hoses get shorter as kids get higher

or has really strong lungs and can pull a cone through 10m of hose

        • +2

I think he's saying 12mm hose doesn't take as much space as standard (not as thick), so a 30m x 12mm will fit on a standard 20m reel …

if too long, modify plastic bottles and have party for stoners

        • +1

          @HeXa:
You must have Intelligent Stoners if they cut from the end. Most cut from the centre.

          @Steptoe:

is why I tie the bag of Doritos to the end

Get this for $11, can store 45m

      • Is the handle directly connected to the reel (as in part of the reel) or is it attached to the axle and clips on?

        • Frankly I have no idea - I don't own this, but planning to buy one - so was searching for best value! How does that matter?

        • @superm86:

If the handle is attached it can easily clip off when reeling from experience. It just becomes a huge hassle.

  • +2

Are these any good or should I run for the hills?

  • +1

Seriously though, are these any good? I've had so many hoses over the years and they all kink after a few months…

    • +4

This one has only a 5/10 kink rating, so 50% chance it will kink. Which means that most probably it will kink.

      • That's a pretty kinky hose

        • kink rating is only 5 … but Ozbargainer's love hose that are kinky …

      • +4

Buy two and you should reduce the odds

        • How?
It's still the same odds you just have 2 hoses.

  • +2

    That eBay price is insane.

    • You can charge whatever you want on eBay

      • +1

My Dad used to say "if prices are high blame the fools who pay them".

      • -4

Really? Is that how eBay works? Thanks for the clarification.

Hoselink is vastly superior, and aus made rather then this crap the OP is peddling.

    • +4

Does Hoselink make a 30m hose for $10?

      • +1

Maybe it's time to call Jason Bourne to solve this issue?

    • 🇦🇺 owned <> 🇦🇺 made

    • +5

      and aus made

      Not so sure about that

Q: Where are your products made?

Our range of products are currently manufactured in a number of countries including Australia, Italy, China and Taiwan.

Unfortunately it is not always possible to manufacture products in Australia and as a company it is important for us to stay competitive in today's marketplace. We're always seeking high quality products and keep a tight control over all manufacturing processes.

Our Hoselink fittings are Australian designed and 100% Australian owned. Although we used to manufacture all our fittings in Australia we were forced to move our operations to China when our Australian manufacturer told us they could no longer produce our product in Australia. The fittings are now manufactured to our exacting specifications in China, with our Australian-made tools.

My wife bought a couple of these from Masters when they were closing down. Terrible things, kink all the time. Avoid unless it is all your budget can afford.

  • +1

You can't really complain with this price. If you have it unrolled the whole time, perfect.
But with 30m of hose, using it and packing it up is going to be a pain in the ass.

I invested in a Nylex Never Kink 30m (9/10 kink free rating) and it's almost magical how the kinks disappear.

    • second on spending more for a high kink free rating, you will never go back to a cheap hose

    • +3

using it is going to be a pain in the ass.

If it's a pain in the ass you're using it wrong

    • If you loop them up correctly they aren't a problem.

  • 140 at Toombul Brisbane so not in short supply.

  • +3

I'm going to Fyshwick and get me some cheap kinky hoes hose.

  • +6

Suprised how many up votes this is getting for a terrible product.

  • +1

Thanks OP ….got 2 of these.

  • Had one in my hand at Claremont Bunnings WA and felt how flimsy it was and put it back. Heaps in stock there for those who love wandering back and fourth constantly trying to get a decent water flow :-p

  • +1

Imagine how many bongs you could make out of this! 30 freaking meters.

    • ..freaking metres.

  • +1

Its $7 at Castle Hill Bunnings :)

    • Even @ $7 this represent a Hills Heist of a deal;

Damn thing kinks every time I move it unless I unwrap it like a gold chain over a velvet pillow. Melts on contact with the sun and then kinks on its own, no matter how it's been laid down or unwound.

Bunnings probably got a bunch back at $10 so figured it'd liquidate them at $7 because ppl are far less likely to return them 'for such a low return'

Besides, they probably bought all the Masters stock at $1 per hose, or $10 a pallet full or something.

Don't go back to a cheap hose on price, you'll regret this one the first day you go to use it.

  • +4

I bought a few of these when Masters was going down - they are by far the most craptacuar hose I have ever owned, leave it out in the sun for a while and it kinks into a nasty sloppy mess of soft rubber that is impossible to use. Might be ok for some, but if you want to pull it around on a hot driveway etc to wash your car etc - its just too much hard work.

  • bought last week. it developed kinks instantly. ok for price

  • +1

    these are horrible.

  • Get Toro - anti kinky 10/10.

  • Sounds like these hoes (hose) suck quite a lot!

    • You can't have wet T-Shirt competitions without hose.

  • +2

Worst hose of all time, best to just chuck it in the bin.

    • +1

Pretty sure Hills make bins. Don't know where they are made.

      • Can't believe no one has mentioned Hills Hoist…

        • +4

          Hills hoist

  • Has anyone bought and used these from ALDI, currently on special and twice the price of OP

    https://www.aldi.com.au/en/special-buys/special-buys-sat-4-m…

    • My guess is it's probably a lot better.

  • +4

Hose is not too bad for the price. Fittings are actually quite good with no leaks which is more than It can be said for other budget fittings I purchased from Bunnings in the past.
Fittings on their own cost about $5-$6 so you basically get 30 metres of hose for less than $5. Burst pressure is about 2500 kPa (25 bar or 363 psi) which on par with the Gardena entry level hose.
Hose kinks from time to time but it is nowhere near as bad as entry level hoses.
I thought the hose and the fittings were quite good for the price and ended up buying another one.

  • Thanks OP. I bought one don't know why as i already have one from masters lying in my garage.

  • Thanks bought one.

  • Heaps at Claremont Bunnings WA
