      nope just wait.

  • Has anyone manage to order and do a port and be successful at putting in payment details?

  • Does anyone know if you can get the cashrewards offer twice if you order two separately?

    • +1

Yes, someone here commented that they had done so.

      • with the same account?

        • Yep.

        • @aja12:

I can confirm I did two separate orders last night, 2 separate cash rewards emails recieved!

        • I did two orders on one cashreward account. It works :)

  • Can anyone confirm that the OZBARGAIN10 voucher is possibly working?

    • I used the code but have received nothing stating that it might've worked.

    • +3

      It won't work no.
      Cheers

  • is this considered as supermarket expenses under AMEX ? not sure to use the Explorer (2x points) ir the Edge (3x) points and of course with free screen protection ..

    • I'm using my AMEX for the free screen protection. My bro had the S6 at launch 2 years ago and he broke the screen within the first month. Costed him $400 to fix IIRC.

      • ya.. do u get 2x/3x points since this is under Woolworths ?

        • -1

Surely the peace of mind of the screen insurance outweighs the extra point IHMO.

        • @willbaba: i think you dont understand what im asking.. thats fine..

      • Not a bad idea. I think I will do that too.

It's not "free" btw. The excess cost is 10% of the repairs cost.

  • Can I port my Lebara number to this one?

    • +1

      there's no reason why not

  • hi
I ordered yesterday through Cashreward as described above but did not get any reward on my account. Is this normal? thanks

  • I've pre-ordered and entered in my existing phone number details, however need to lodge a change of ownership form with Amaysim to change my existing mobile number into the same account holder name as the S8 pre-order so it can be ported once I get the phone. Hoping there isn't some automated pre-port process lodged by Woolworths mobile which might get denied because the names don't match.

Does anyone know if porting your number after placing a pre-order happens automatically or whether you have to initiate it through Woolworths mobile? Or can shed some light on the porting process with Woolies mobile generally?

    • When I talked with Woolworth customer care, they said that the phone will come with that number and we have to activate it. So, I think they will port the number automatically.

      • I see, interesting. I wonder what would happen if they tried to port the number but can't because the names don't match. Either way, I'm lodging a change of name form with Amaysim tomorrow, so hopefully Woolworths isn't so quick to attempt the port..

        • Being a pre order the porting won't happen until you receive the phone and activate the sim - so you have until the end of April before that happens!

    • Wait.. you need to file a change of ownership form with Amaysim to port out? Normally your new telco handles everything for you.

      • In my case I do - because the name on my Amaysim number is different to the name I've pre-ordered the S8 on (put it on dad's name to pass the credit check)

    • You only needed the DOB for porting in an Amaysim number.

    • Following is the info that Woolworths emailed about my S8 order
"Once you receive your handset and SIM it is very important that you activate it by visiting activation and entering the 9 digit SIM number printed on the SIM packaging. If you haven’t activated within 48 hours, we may automatically activate it for you (and transfer your service from your other provider if applicable). Once activated, your Woolworths Mobile service will be up and running and subject to charges. "

  • I have 2 questions.

1.i already on a plan which expires in August. Can i get woolworths plan to start in August and still recieve the phone at launch?

    1. Does it have the voucher to the media/game pack for the vr which samsung.com.au is offering?

A speedy n accurate reply will be good as i really like this deal and don't wana miss out.

    • +1

Unlikely. They're going to want to start billing you straight away once you receive the phone.

Might be a good idea to start your cycles when a new phone releases, if you stick to the same range. This is easy for iPhone users since they have only one choice and they change over the same date each year like clockwork.

    • OK, just read the letter Woolies sent me. It says to activate your sim immediately when you receive it. If you don't do it within 2 days, they will automatically do it for you.

So no, you can't save it for later.

  • This is SOOOO tempting!!

I nearly pulled the trigger last night, especially after the sudden death of my stupid LG G4 a few weeks ago.

I still can't decide which phone to get - s8 seems to be the right size for my small hands but I do love big screens…

Another things that bothers me is the 24-mths contract. I have never been a "locked-in contract" sort of person and having to commit to anything for more than 1 year just seems so daunting.

I guess I'm just being overly cautious (and too indecisive).

Nonetheless, this is a great deal and good on all the Ozbargainers who pre-ordered!

  • Hi everyone

My contract phone with Vodafone will be expired on 6th June 2017

I saw a good deal on Woolworths mobile website for Samsung 8 plus

So I have some questions to ask:

    1) if I want to port my current number to Woolworths mobile, do I need to contact with Vodafone and cancel it in advance?
How much for the fees for porting mobile number?

    2) Can i just sign up new phone number with Woolworths plan for Samsung S8 Plus now, and after I finish my contract with Vodafone, I will port my Vodafone number to replace the Woolworths number?

    3) is mobile phone from Woolworths unlocked or locked?

    4) do Woolworths mobile has online chat support?

    Thank you very much everyone

    • +1
      1. No, if you cancel at Vodafone they will take away your number, once you activated your number in Woolworths by using Vodafone's account number your contract is automactically cancelled and will show as "Ported out" in Vodafone system.

      2. Maybe, it works in Vodafone that we could generate a port in request and cover a current number during the contract by changing the number along with a transfer. But you should contact Woolworths and see if their system is that advanced yet.

      3. Unlocked, same as buying it from Samsung store.

      4. Not yet apart from phone and email support

      Currently working for Vodafone

      • i just finished my 2 year contract with vodaphone in March. And i just started a red sim plan (1 year) with them ,(coz i was told i can pay less for way more data, and i wasnt in need to buy a new phone). but now this is such a good deal for me, is there any cancellation fee if i want to cancel redplan?

and do i get to keep my vodaphone number?
        thanks in advance

        • You can always keep your number no matter which company its with, all you need is the account number to transfer it to other company.
the cancellation fee for Vodafone is (Plan value/2 + Handset fee)x remaining month. So if your sim only plan is $40 and it has 10 months left thats $200 for early exit, but if you prefer to stay with Vodafone then you can upgrade your sim only plan to handset plan after using your contracted sim plan for more than 3 months.

        • @MatthewSoul: THANKS SO much for the reply, i see. i guess the only way for me now is hope vodaphone has decent deal on S8

        • @Hornpub: Your welcomed :) try to find a student card from you or your family members (or even anyone with your surname) and take it to a store and get 10% off the plan when you decide to take a plan later on :p

        • @MatthewSoul: you should be the president.

        • @Hornpub: President I shall be xD lol

      • Yes Woolworths Mobile does have live chat
@arrogant84 - I've answered these questions you posted over on Whirlpool
        Cheers

    • Best thing for you to do is check your payout at Vodafone as well as knowing your DOM date (the day when data refreshes and bills get generated).
Preorder the phone in Woolworths and activates the card before the DOM date and pay out 50% of your Vodafone plan plus remaining handset fee.

  • Just pulled the trigger and signed up via the CashRewards link. Just waiting for the cash reward to show up. Is it immediate or do I need to wait a while?

    • +1

      Mine took 20 minutues.

    • Good question, I would expect some sort of tracking email but I only got the confirmation from woolies about the preorder. I did get the message at the end of the order placement to say my order could not be completed as I needed to provide more info re credit check. Just searching through here to see how many others get the same message.

    • mine took 5mins..

    • My $101 cashreward now shows up

    • +1

Mine still hasn't shown up from Saturday morning :(

      • Same boat here, ordered sat morning and Nada. Got the first click email but nothing else yet. Guess if nothing shows after 7 days its time to send an inquiry.

        • +1

Do you have a click to Woolworths Mobile at time of purchase? You can check this by going to CR My Account/Click History. If nothing shows there, then you've done something wrong. Also, did you disable any AdBlock software you may have had activated before clicking out of CR?

        • @tightarse:
          Thanks tightarse.

Yes it shows up on my click history. I presume it will just take some time to register?

Cleared browsing history prior and no ad blocker used. Firefox.

        • @tightarse:

The click shows in my account on CR but nothing else. I do have adblock software but CR and WW mobile was whitelisted

        • @tightarse:

I've yet to receive the cash rewards email also. I ordered on Sunday and have checked that woolworths mobile is in the click history. :(

      • It's not showing for me either

    • My cashback is also not showing, ordered Sunday morning.

  • +2

Woolies website is pretty bad - run into tons of problems while ordering and now I don't even know if I'll get the CR or if my order is even valid.

    1. My home address was not listed (duplex which is over a year old) - couldn't finish order as it only shows the non-duplex address
I've asked customer support (Saturday evening) to add my home address to the list - told it would take 24-48 hours
    2. Tried again on Sunday afternoon (of course it didn't work), so I tried ordering for delivery for my work address
      • Work address was not listed (building is at least several years old)
      • No way to put a company name (in case the building/floor shares more than one office)
    3. Tried again a while ago (Sunday evening) and used wife's work address as delivery (my home one still isn't in the system). After putting porting information was welcomed with a "nice" screen:

Sorry, we are unable to complete your order.
Thank you for applying for a Woolworths Phone Plan.
As part of your application, you agreed for Woolworths to conduct a credit assessment on your behalf and in compliance with the Privacy Act 1988. In this instance, your application has been referred for further review.
In order for Woolworths to process your application please provide the following documents to [email protected]
    1. A scanned copy of the Government issued identification used in your application.
2.Three recent payslips OR three recent bank-issued statements.

Got an email from Woolies about "Pre-order Confirmation WM***" which doesn't make sense considering the previous message.

Anyone run into such problems? I don't think Cashrewards will consider the order valid as I haven't even put any payment information.

    • You'll be able to lodge a claim through cashrewards as long as you have a valid order before the promo expires - that how they operated in the past anyway

    • Better call and ask them if the order actually went through. I got to the very last confirmation page and even then the order didn't go through for me. And now I get the same problem as you when I try and order again (credit check stuff)

Postal address is also bad because you can't put in a parcel collect.

I've given up really..good deal if it didn't have so many problems. Seems to be fine for some people though.

  • Nek minnit Woolworths only ordered 100 units from Samsung leaving 368 people waiting for another shipment of phones.

    • +1

The pre-orders is actually a Samsung thing. They get carriers to provide them a quantity of pre-orders that they have by an xxxx date, so that they can allocate stock to each of them accordingly. This ensures that people who want phones get it, rather than have 50000 sitting in Optus or Telstra stores somewhere.

  • anyone know whether we can change the order ? ordered S8 but i think i wanted s8+ now :-)

    • Did you choose to port your number or take a new number? The course of action to swap is different depending on which you chose.
      Cheers

      • i chose porting no :-) will that be complicated ??

        • I'm in a similar position too - preordered s8+ but can it be changed to s8? I am also porting my number

  • Apple user here. This phone is really tempting me back to Android (haven't been back there since Froyo). And although this deal and the pre-order bonus of the GearVR is great, I am worried about locking myself into such an expensive device BEFORE seeing the proper reviews..

I am curious about what Apple will do in September but I'm also completely bored with their products recently. Hmmmm ..

    • Go have a play of an Galaxy S7 Edge if you can, that will give you some indication of how the S8 will be. Not the same of course in regards to the screen and overall sizing but close enough to give you an indication.

    • iOS is far behind Android in features right now. Most of the key features in iOS 8, 9, 10 were catch up features that Android had years ago. The reason you can commit to an iPhone before reviews is because the device they give you will be predictable. It won't do anything beyond what you expect from it. You know what it's going to be.. a faster SoC, and a new software update.

All of the features, pros, and cons of S8 are out there in hands on previews. The only thing missing is a review score. Read the previews, decide for yourself if it appeals to you.

A lot has changed since Froyo. That is what, pre 2.0?

If the battery blows up, you will get your money back and get to keep the VR unit.

    • I can't do it - at least not yet. I'm gonna wait and see if Apple pulls something special out of the bag. I'd hope it's a bit better today, but I have flashbacks of my old Android device being stuck on Froyo for almost 2 years waiting for LG to put out the update for Gingerbread. I think they eventually did, but by that time Ice Cream Sandwich was just about to launch.

  • How do we claim the VR??

    • +1

Basically will be delivered by the retailer with the phone or within 4 weeks of phones release date, probably depending on stock availability.

      Some FAQ here: http://www.samsung.com/au/galaxy-s8-offer/faq/

      • But wont it be for phones bought from Samsung directly? What about the phones bought from other retailers.

        • Which retailers will be offering the presales offer?
Participating retailers are : Telstra, Vodafone, Optus, Virgin Mobile, JB Hi Fi, Harvey Norman, Woolworths, The Good Guys, Bing Lee, Qantas Q store, Amaysim and Samsung.com.au

        • @phew: Great. But stock availability thing is bad.

      • thanks :D. Will this phone be unlocked version??

        • +1

yep :) unlocked and unbranded apparently

        • @phew: haha nice can sell it if don't want to use it any more :))

  • -2

The minimum cost is $1560 and it's not cheap. I rather wait for the outright price to down below 1K.

    • +1

True. But if you are using existing plan, it will be $25-$35 for similar plan and that will end up 600- 840. After deducting CR cashback and VR, you are taking down another $150. taking the cost around $810- $570, which is pretty cheap for a brand new phone and taken reputation of Samsung, it will be a good bet.

So it is already below 1k. You cannot even get S7/ S7 Edge for under 1k.

      • on the contrary, mobileciti is selling the s7 edge for $899(https://www.mobileciti.com.au/samsung-galaxy-s7-edge-128gb-j…) hahaha. But the specs on the s8/s8+ are hectic cept for the camera which is still the same. the price from woolies is pretty good considering pre-order/new release deal. if ur waiting til the price to go down till under 1k, the waiting game will be a long one. the s7/s7edge dropped in price after 10 months, give or take, to be under 1k

  • How do know the application is successful? I got the Welcome aboard email does it mean successful?

    • Lol, yes. You should get 3 emails - pre-order confirmation, account password setup, and the welcome aboard email.

      • k, thanks.

      • actually 4 emails if you went with Cash Rewards!! :)

  • just wondering, when the phone coming to my house ?

  • +1

Well that was a massive waste of time. I got as far as payment but they would not accept any card I put in.

Rang and waited half an hour on hold.. only to be told they had no idea and to try again in half an hour.

I read here it could be because I clicked through Cash Rewards so I tried again without clicking through and now I have failed the credit check.

    I give up.

Nice plan, too bad that I can't buy it.

lol and as I type this I get an email saying… Pre Order Confirmation.

    • Just to update. I rang again and was told that the last attempt stuck. The one where I did not use cashrewards. They could see my previous attempts so they can put it through without the credit check malarky as it passed earler twice.. As for no Credit Card they could see that and said forget it for now, eventually they will ask for money but all in good time.

      • yea its weird, they keep blaming CR for it not going through.

  • Is CR $101 cashback finished?

CR site says 02/04, though your post says 04/04.

  • What shipping method do woolworths mobile use?

Can we get delivery to a parcel locker? (ie Auspost or Startrack?)

  • when do i get my cash rewards? been over an hour lol

    • Sometimes it takes days.

  • The wife wants a phone as well. Can I order two plans using the same Cashrewards account? Or does my wife have to sign up for cash rewards as well?

    • +1

You can use the same CR account but there's nothing stopping you to get your wife to set up her own CR using your referral link for the extra $5 for both of you ;)

    • Yep, can confirm that it worked fine. Put two orders through and got two $101 cash rewards.

  • Denied credit assessment. Not sure why.

  • Hi is it possible to cancel my order through woolworths mobile and redo it through CR or can I claim it through CR? Purchase was made 2/4/2017.
