How cheap is shipping from China if they can do it for this price?

    • +4

      government subsidised

      • Both Australia and China are members of Universal Postal Union.

        • so are the other 190 countries, i.e. the world lol. still doesn't explain how they can sell+ship so cheap.

        • +1

$12.99 for gift wrapping, that where they get ya.
But the cost for shipping as letters is a lot higher than 10cents. Likely at least 80cents.
Definitely taking a loss in favor of brand awareness.

      • subsidized by NSA

        • NSA is not interested in what kind of porn Ozbargainers watch.

    • Their government has the brain to realise that providing near free postage on local manufactured products allows them to dominate world manufacturing.
The government takes some loss, but overall their country has achieved domination and incredible wealth (not shared equally).

Our government on the other hand runs postage as a for profit business which cripples local manufacturing with high costs and slow unreliable service.

      • slow unreliable service.

this is also common with the chinese one.

  • Thanks OP, I have purchased one

Can't be 3.1, as the micro USB 3.1 port is twice as wide.

    • The Type C is 3.1, while the Micro-USB is 2.0. I have no idea how the 3.1 is useful, but maybe there is something I don't know.

      • +2

No, if the micro usb is 2.0, then the type c is 2.0 as well. It's like a chain where the weakest link decides the strength of the entire chain.
3.1 isn't a form factor, it's about throughput, which can't physically be achieved with this adaptor.

        • I agree about the form factor, but sometimes the internal wiring of things can be different. Look at HDMI for instance, or even VGA or DVI connectors. I have no idea whether in this instance there is a different, but am fairly confident the 3.1 bit is silliness.

    should i???? shouldnt i???….. c i b stuffed for 0.10c???

  • could you use this to charge a Macbook via micro USB? It would obviously be slow, and likely a trickle charge. Just wondering if it would be possible/safe

Delete the :80 at the end of www.shoppingsquare.com.au and hit enter. Worked for me.

  • Last time I bought some of these cheap ~$1 ones from ebay, the 3 that I bought were all really tight fit. In comparison, the xiami one fits fine. Should I be worried those 3 might ruin my phones charging port?

    • Yeah I had that problem too on ebay, which I expect to be the same story here.

      • Cheap enough to find out, but yeah, had this same problem.

  • Thanks op

  • Does this have the 56k resistor so that it doesn't send the incorrect amount of current to your phone?

    • Probably not. For 10c let's find out ;)

Warranty service? "Here's your 10c back. Go away"?

  • Can I use this with a Micro USB cable (Type A to Type B)? The Type A end goes into the m/b, the Type B end would normally go into my mouse or smartphone. I want to use this adapter so that I can insert the male Type C end into my new S8. So in other words I am connecting a Type C device into my m/b using a standard Type A to MicroUSB cable.

  • Thanks OP. Got one at last!

  • Gone

  • Couldn't bpay rep

    • If choosing Bpay as payment option. You will receive an order confirmation e-mail with the Bpay number and CRN for you to make the Bpay payment via online banking or branch.

You also can login to my account => my orders to obtain the Bpay information for your orders.

  • It says 0.10c to low an amount to pay. Can I DD? Trying to avoid Paypal

  • Have anyone received there order yet??

    • Mine just arrived.

    • Haven't seen any parcel. Based in Melbourne

      • I'm still waiting
