Stealth Guards: FREE Full Body ScreenGuard for Your Phone (Just Pay Shipping)

1120

Full credit for this post goes to actinium227

After looking at actinium227's post where actinium227 pointed out that the Stealth Guard for the Samsung Vibrant was free and all that needed to be paid was shipping… I had a look around the Stealth Guard website myself and found that currently Stealth Guards for ALL PHONES ARE FREE!

All you pay is the shipping cost… I grabbed myself 2 lots and the total came to US$4.85/AU$5.58.

So I'm very happy. They sound like a good quality product and for the final price it seemed too good to pass up…

From the Stealth Guard Website:

Stealth Guards are a Clear Scratch Resistant film that protects your device from scratches.

Our clear scratch resistant skins are the perfect way to protect the investment you've made in your new device from dings and scratches. Precision cut to fit your each device perfectly. Our scratch resistant material was originally designed to protect helicopter blades from dust and debris. Our Clear Scratch Resistant skin feature a "Self Healing" technology that allows most dings and scratches to heal after a 24 hours period.

Features:

  • Premium military grade Material
  • Lifetime warranty
  • 30 day money back guarantee
  • High Gloss Scratch Resistant Finish
  • Precision Fit
  • Invisible Protection
  • Added Gription
  • No Added Bulk

Take a look for yourself and see if your phone is on their website… the range looked decent enough (62 total in phone section)

And again… special thanks to actinium227/actinium227's post as that is what lead to me finding out all this.

Enjoy!

Thanks for this Chux, I saw the original post earlier today, and was like meh, didn't even bother looking since I don't have an SGS.

So now I got 2x N1 and 1 x Desire skins now for $7.70, hopefully they are good.

    • +1

yeah i skimmed over it too at first but then i got intrigued lol so i checked it out and they were all free.

I thought it was a valid enough reason for a new post… i just hope the mods and everyone else agrees.

cant go wrong with the price though and the site makes them sound really good quality… just have to see how they go…

      • +2

Im with you buddy, when there is a greater deal discovered within another deal that deserves individual attention then another post is warranted. as stumo said, i too ignored the previous post coz I dont have an sgs either.

self healing feature makes it sound even better than the invishield.. hopefully it is :)

  • +1

    No E71's :( but still a +ve as it's a great deal

  • Most of the reviews on forums seems to be bad. Probably better off spending a little extra and getting a Zagg skin, which does the same thing, just better.

    http://www.iphone4forum.net/forum/iphone-4-accessories-14/fr…

    • +1

zagg sucks, it's always 1 mm away from the edges. best skins ever is really good, cheap too.

  • +4

These are just the el cheapo ones you can get for AU$1 delivered from ebay or Deal Extreme

    • +3

how do you know it's the same?
      $1 for a full-body protector on ebay/dx?

  • +3

    FreaKIN AWESOME.

  • -2

So this is not actually a new deal. The original deal just needs updating.

    • +1

Well, the original deal kind of sucked, in that it only listed one phone (rightly or wrongly). So it seems many people saw it and ignored it based on this. So really the question is…

How many times do you go back and re-check an old deal that you had absolutely no interest in?

  • +1

    no galaxy s…

  • Just ordered 2 iPhone 4 and 2 iPod skins.
    AU$9.60

  • +2

Great deal!! Hopefully these are as good as the BSE i usually order.

Ordered 2x Samsung Vibrant (galaxy s dimensions but front skin does not have button) and 1x HTC Desire total USD$7.70

  • Anyone else having trouble with the site? Keeps giving me an internal server error when I try to navigate some of the pages.

    • same here - error

      • I spent 10mins refreshing and finally got my order through. Bought 2 iphone 4 screen protectors for $5.60 :). Hopefully they are decent quality.

  • I get error when I check out of paypal. Well paypal already sent the payment and now I have no order number or anything since this error. Now I need to wait and see before I can go to paypal and dispute this amount which is time consuming. :( Great deal btw!

  • +4

Normally I would unpublish this deal, and update the first deal posted.

However in this instance, I'd consider this an exception since this deal has made it to the front page, and credits have been given to the original post.

  • Internal server error here as well… .

  • +3

Yes seems to be a pretty slow site for now. It might guard your phone against scratches but can't guard influx of users.

    • +5

seems we crashed the site, yay ozbargain

      • The power of ozbargain is to be feared… :)

  • +1

I'm so close to adding the three items I want in my cart, but every click takes me to the server error and I have to refresh for ages haha.
So close yet so far.. almost.. there..

  • +1

Finally got the order through. It seems to be the same product as Bestskinever.

  • +2

Wow broke my screen cover yesterday and this pops up. God loves me. Thanks you! =D

  • +1

Finally got through and ordered 3 iphone guards for $8 :)

  • thanks got iphone guards! hopefully this could replace the iLuv screen protectors that came with the iLuv "bumpers"

  • Did anyone receive their confirmation email after purchasing?

  • +2

Just got 3 3/3Gs skins and 3 iPhone4's after a fair few refreshes. Lets hope these are good, but getting this many screen protectors for $13 you really cant complain.

  • finally it went through… got 2 iphone 4 skins. nice find. appreciate it OP!

  • Not Loading………………..

  • After a couple of refreshes, I finally got my order. $5.50 for 2 Nokia's.

  • i've heard from other users and reviews that these are quite rubbish.

  • nice post bought 2 for my HTC hd2

  • site is responding nicely again, just picked up shield for iphone 3gs, iphone 4 and google nexus = $8.55 yayy! thanks OP

    • no problem…

  • Here is a youtube review… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Hxh8kfxDS8

  • Thanks just ordered two.

  • +2

Ok, just ordered two as well for $5. For that price, it's all good.

  • if i have only iphone 3GS what stuffs i can buy ? only the full body protector?
    thanks

    • yes… just the full body protector. i think that looks pretty good tho IMO…
      see here

  • +2

Just a heads up - This is a good deal, go for it, etc

BUT when you install your guard, be VERY careful when you apply the shield.
There have been reports of people getting the application fluid seeping into
the device when they do the "wipe surface with card to get excess fluid out".

(if you over-spray the guard, when you squeegee the fluid to the sides, it leaks
down into the screen or phone - and of course getting fluid in the phone isn't covered under any warranty)

    Jen

    • thanks for the heads up… haven't gotten any of these before so don't know what they are like. every little bit of info helps…

  • great just order 2. Thanks for both posts!!

  • also bought 2… each is around AUD 2.80 i think

    • It's in USD not AUD

  • Got two myself. Has anyone dealt with them before?
How long does it take to arrive?

And although these might be rubbish, they'll surely beat the iPhone case I got from cotd- they make my phone look like a toy.

  • Got four… Two bold 9700, 1 Desire and 1 iphone 3g. Thanks.

  • just be aware that this kind of shield attracts a lot of lints. If you carry your phone in your pocket, it will make it worse. Your phone will look really really nice and shiny for the first week, and after that the urge to peel of its skin is unbearable. :)

  • Would the postage cost be based on how many product you ordered or a flat fee for no matter how many you ordered?

    • pretty sure its based on a per-product basis…
      still pretty cheap postage though…

    • +2

Worked out to be USD$2.6 each for my 3 protectors.

  • I don't know if I'm panicking unnecessarily but when I clicked to finalise my payment and order(it was during the time when the site was really slow,) the page only half loaded and images etc came up with a red X.
The transaction is showing on my paypal account so now I'm waiting the email confirmation.. has anyone gotten that yet?

    • Yup…bought it about 2 mins ago and paid with PayPal and got confirmation email straightaway.

      • Thanks, I might have to send them a message to confirm they got my order if I haven't received any confirmation in a few days.

  • nice deal
    Got two 3G/3GS protectors
    Thanks!

    http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid/67468-screen-protect…

Just a quick link that compared zagg, stealth and phantom to help everyone.

  • +1

got 1 for bold 9700. yeahhh. credit to the poster

    • thank you

  • any good tutorial which gives you instructions on how to put it on? (iphone 4)?

  • whats the quality of these cases?

  • has anyone received the item?

    any review on the quality?

  • I'll report back if I get mine.

  • just got an email from them saying mine has been shipped… over a week since i ordered. not terrible but not great…

  • Mines just got shipped as well.

  • I haven't got any email of shipping yet. I ordered on the 28 Aug.

  • Ordered mine a day after this offer came out and i still don't have an email telling me that they have been sent.

  • Got an email today.
    Ordered on the 24/08/10
    Patience!

  • recieved it in the mail today =]

  • Good! So at least we're not getting scammed here.

  • Got an email today said it's shipped. Ordered on the 28 Aug.

  • received it today slapped it on……….. its the worst protector ive had on…….. rather my ebay protectors

  • +1

There goes $10 down the drain :(

    • yeah I'm a bit disappointed… website makes em sound good but in reality they aren't that great.
i got into a phone shop asap after and got a set of screen guard from there lol.

  • yeah got mine today too…
in conclusion… ewwww. really terrible looking protection.
i put the back one on and it looked shocking… didn't bother putting the front one on. worth a go for the price but i wont be buying them again…

  • got mine today as well….omg they made my phone look like something out of the horror movie. tiny bubbles everywhere not because i applied it wrong either those bubbles are hairpin size wtf!. If you stretch it out it warps out of shape. $5 down the drain.

  • hmmm i haven't gone mine yet……… as well. I don't think i got email either

  • Freckin should get a refund.
    What a POS.

  • applied mine today and it is pretty much the same stuff that bestskinsever.com stock. I assumed that application would be similar so as usual water+a drop of dishwashing liquid. It does seem that quality is a bit inferior compared to bestskinsever.
Contrary to the reports above There is no hairpin like bubbles, etc

  • I haven't received my 'shield' yet but I'm pretty sure I got the shipped notification a while ago… should I be worried?

  • Well I haven't received mine and I got shipping notifications ages ago.

    • You were told it was shipped on the September 1.
It has only been 2 weeks. Coming from the USA using a cheap shipping service 2 weeks is not very long.

  • Haven't received mine yet either, let me know when you guys feel its time to lodge paypal complains. I'll follow suit.

    • You have only been waiting about 2 weeks for postage from another country.
Keep waiting and it will arrive.

  • I got mine yesterday :p

  • Still waiting for mine also. Was really looking forward to it, but after reading the comments above, not any more…

    I already feel ripped off.

I'm sure I bought it in Aug!

  • I just got mine, haven't tried it on but itcomes without any packaging at all. Feels like oem or something. Already feels
Inferior compared to the Body Guardz I received yesterday for the MacBook.

  • Got mine today as well.
Wow it's just like a sticker. A bland, colourless sticker.
Without the envelope I wouldn't even know it was for the iPhone.

Is there some certain way to apply the 'stealthguard'?
E.g. rubbing alcohol beforehand or something?

  • +1

I assume they assume you would just stick it on.
    Its a piece of crap.
Just tried it on and it feels 100% like a clear contact.
The material is also a POS. Scratches easily. I experimented by digging it with my nails lightly and it already broke.
This thing is not even worth 5c.

    • hey mate, thats bad, I was hoping these would be half decent. Did you put the solution though, squeegee out the excess, and dry under a lamp? the "fungal" pattern on your device looks like it went on dry? check out DJnMax's instructional links below.

      • Thanks man. I'll look into it but quite frankly the easily scratched/ ripped material has put me off already.

  • +1

Got mine today, and applied it as kbryant suggested. Have a look here for video version http://www.stealthguards.com/index.php/Installation/ or printable version http://www.bestskinsever.com/application
    Not too bad really…

  • Skins received 15/9. Plain envelope and OEM packaging. TBH at that price (free) I couldn't care less for flashy retail packaging which is unnecessary landfill in this case anyway > these are just flat skins after all! Havent put them on yet but will report back once I do.

  • Really glad that this was free any you only had to pay postage because I would never pay full price for it.

I ordered the cover for my Blackberry 9700. The sheets were not correctly cut to size. The front & back sheets were to short length wise. This is not even close to being as good as the Zagg covers.

  • Yeah even for the iPhone its not lined up perfectly.
    Then again this was "free".

  • So, I just received this a month after order.

Question: thye instruction videos mention a 'solution' but the pack didn't come with one.

WHAT is the solution to spray on? Water? Soap?

  • Found it:

    Here’s how to make it:
    1. Get a spray bottle
    2. Fill it with cold water
    3. Add 1-2 drops of liquid soap and shake well.
