My local told me about this when i got the free slurpee yesterday.

Oh btw i also got a free starburst lollypop because you get one free with every slurpee at 7-eleven. I'm not a ranga and I didn't say the stupid phrase but they gave it to me anyway cos he's cool.

Point is that every store is different - some will have limits or run out early on the 16th, some will have heaps and no limits (plus you can get a free lollypop with every slurpee).

At the end of the day, it's all just overloaded sugar and crap. It makes me wonder, if they can sell it for $1, how much do they pay the company who makes it…and how much does that company make it for? Ah, good old australian food. So chock full of crap it's cheap and profitable…

    that's a sweeping generalisation — whilst American cusine is best known for being unhealthy and it's a fact they proudly export all of their best attempts at world population control, ie. junk food, pharmaceuticals, weapons, invasions, etc… however, the Americans also have the biggest wholefoods and organic industry and many of the world's 'healthy diet' crazes start there…
    
    we can't blame all our overconsumption evils on McDondald's, Starbucks, Coca-Cola and Mars — Australia is the home of plenty of junk, (eg. Cheezels, Burger Rings, TimTams, Tang, Solo, Sizzler, Fasta Pasta).

      Tang, Sizzler and Fasta Pasta all originated in America. And yes, our food may not be the greatest, but at least we use something that resembles real sugar in our products and not High Fructose Corn Syrup, which is known to create cancer.

Some these items are "mini" versions of the real thing, pies, drumsticks, etc.
Take a look at the $ per ml/grams and look up the price at the supermarket. There's not much difference, and it maybe more expensive if you wait for the supermarket to discount it.

But I like it cause there's like one of these places every 2 blocks in CBD Sydney.

Was in 7-Eleven tonight, got a pink (strawberry?) iced doughnut for $1 (reduced), very nice.

Also, i noticed a pricing loop hole with the fun size chocolate bars. I bought a 18g Snickers fun size for 65c. The regular size Snickers is $2.50, and weighs 53g. Buy 3 fun size snickers for $1.95 and you're getting 54g. Bargain.
They had Bounty fun size and something else. I assume it's the same situation for those too.

Looking forward to this next dollar day. But it's not as good as previous ones, where they had the Goulburn Valley flavoured milk 600ml range for $1. Plus they had Heaven ice creams, and 100g kettle chips. Better chips than the 90g twisties range. The sausage rolls weren't the snack size either, i don't think…?
Oh well, beggars can't be choosy.

NIKNAH, what makes you say the drumsticks are a mini version? They weren't a mini version last time, 7-11 don't even stock a mini drumstick. :?

I dont think there is any limit. last time I walked in to buy one chocolate bar, and the guy kept waving all the other things and kept telling me all $1 and he does that to every customer, I ended up with heaps more stuff than I originally intend to buy!!! good salesman!

Was also in Coles recently, found myself thinking about the 7-11 $1 day, meanwhile looking on the shelves seeing the mars chocolate bar range for 81c, and also the twisties & burger rings for $1 a packet.

Will get 1 packet of chips, and a drumstick, but nothing else really of interest.

The fine print on the sign says an 8 item limit applies, this may or may not be enforced at your store.

  V isokenetic was on sale for $1. I went to fairfield heights last night. There is a big sign with drumstick, chips, some other stuff. The V sign was a separate smaller one.

        @zaphy: I had a Ripper this afternoon, an hour ago, and i liked it. Never had a Monster energy drink before. There was a very slight hint of a bitter undertone, like the flavour in tonic water (which is disgusting) which has quinine in it. The Ripper has taurine in it, i was thinking maybe this had similar flavour properties. It's very subtle, so it's a nice drink really.

I went to the one on the corner of Smith St & Victoria Pde this morn. Went to grab a cheese and vegemite scroll and noticed it had mold on it. Looked at the use by date and it only had the number 3. A couple more had 5, and one had 20/9/2010. Don't think i'll be going back to that one :s

  they don't have much stock of the V Isokinetics like the monsters or the drum sticks, also you have to grab them from the fridges.
