Heineken Draught Keg $10 off at Dan Murphys ($19.90 after Applied)

1060

http://travelinsider.qantas.com.au/images/sponsor/heineken_v…
Drink up
According to Dan Murphys catalogue (at least NSW) they're normally 29.90 so this brings it down to a nice price.
Gonna give it ago today

mod one user reports that at least one location has kegs which have an expiry date of 26 Sep 2010. You may want to check the date of expiry and make sure it can suit your purposes.

  • Oh, my husband will be VERY happy about this!

  • Great deal, especially if they are ~$25-30.

  • on special at Dan's until 22 September for $29.90
    http://boozle.com.au/beer/brand/heineken/name/-/size/5-litre…

    • Wonder if they'll accept the $10 off this sale price.

  • cheaper than normal, so it's a bargain, but 5L keg = 15-16 bottles (depending on if they're 300 or 375ml)

currently have carlsberg carton for $37.90 = win :)

  • wonder if its different to 7-11 where its a one-use voucher?

    great deal if its re-usable!!!

    • The voucher is from qantas website and quite obviously everyone will have the same barcode. I'm sure this is re-usable.

  • On Dan Murphys website it doesnt say they're on special, just lists them as 29.90?
I don't even like Heineken that much but its cheap and im cheap. Perfect

  • 20$, now THAT is a bargain!!

think i'll print off a few and try to use them tonight (even though I was there just last night … but that's ok, last night i just bought wine)

  • Still have one in the cupboard from last time they ran this special!

  • Print a few of these, use one at every Dan Murphys = instant win :)

    +ve!

  • Awesome special.
Now I have a use for the Princess beer cooler I got for $20!

    • I'm not sure beer cooler and Princess should be in the same sentence.

  • It might be a stupid question but is there beer inside? thank you :D

    • Yes 5 liters of Heineken Imported from Holland

      • honest question, do they or any other maker reconstitute beer like they do coke and juice?

        • Maybe in Japan (they did with whisky years ago) - but haven't heard of it here.

    • +1

But why neg the entire deal based purely on the stock of one Dan Murphy's store?

Surely other Dan Murphy's might have fresher stock?

    • +1

if its a great deal, shouldnt u +ve?
if all stores have stock which expires on sep 26 then yes, neg the deal….

You should be negging DM Melb CBD, not the deal itself :P

      • That would be a load of rubbish if they all had that expiry date.. Im surprised they'd even sell them? Not worth anything unless ur having a big party this weekend…

        • +3

          AFL grand final weekend :)

I just purchased two kegs with a February 2011 expiry. Can't go wrong!

      • Tightarse really this is a very good point and its good to point this out, but not really a negative vote reason. Its personal preference and some others stores have longer use by dates.

Good to check, but with Beer going past the use by date can affect the flavour the longer its out of date. Its not going to make you sick.

And it is 30% off their normal price, which is lower than the $38 from safeway and other outlets anyway.

Based on the reports below from other stores stock vote you might want to remove your vote.

And to declare my interest in this whole deal. I dont like Heineken at any price…

        • Actually if the date says "use by" it can affect more than the flavour, and I would think it's not ideal to use a couple of days past the date.. If it says "best before", then only the flavour is affected.

        • ozpete said "Its not going to make you sick."

I think 5L of it would!! (in one sitting)

      • I can confirm I saw many kegs at my local that expire in feb

      • Hi tightarse,

I'll revoke your negative and list that point in the details for people to check on.

    • +1

What rot. Expiry date has nothing to do with whether this is a bargain. It's still 10 days and two Saturdays away. This deal could be very useful to a lot of people.

      • +1

lol. of course it has everything to do with it, surely you wouldn't pay the same price for fresh product as product that had just expired. ten days away is, yeah… ten days, fine if it was milk, but this beer has probably gone through 98% of its shelf life…. definitely wouldn't be the same as buying new stock.
i'd neg this deal too but i think you guys have shed enough tears over this other guy negging…. overreaction much?

    • I didn't know beer had expiry dates!

  • +3

Reduced price to sell stock close, but still inside it's best before date… I don't see what is negative about that.

  • seems cheap, but how you meant to fit that thing in the fridge?
And does the beer go flat after opening the keg if you dont drink it all in the one session?

    • +1

you can use the 10 bucks you save to get 4 packs of ice and dump them in the basin in the kitchen XD And yea beer does go flat, its best when its fresh XD

      • Actually beer stays fresh for a couple of weeks once opened, not flat straight away….

but you would only buy this if you were having a party, not for one beer a night etc.

    • Get rid of the vegie crisper down the bottom of your fridge.

It's suppose to be good for 4 weeks after opening - it's luck to last 2 days in my house.

  • This will be good for Meredith Music Festival. ( no glass alllowed )

  • Just got a keg from Safeway for $38…

    • +1

      pat on the back

  • Awesome price!

  • These drinks are the best i ever had.

  • Always a +1 from me for such a good beer at this price. Cheers.

  • These things are awesome, we have them most weekends.

Worth stocking up on them at this price!

Can verify the beer is still fresh up to 30 days after opening.

  • just bought a keg from the QV store in Melbourne. Had a pint too already. awesome deal.

    • Expiry date?

      • +1

Must drink before Christmas…expiry 15/12/2010. That was from the Holland Park store in Brisbane. They had heaps there just near the checkouts.

  • after opening, must it be kept in the fridge? i stay in a hostel..so fridge space is limited =(

    • I personally rekn once beer has been cooled it should be left cooled, doesn't taste the same after its cooled/warmed/cooled but some people cant tell :P

  • Anyone actually confirmed they got it for $19.90?

    • +1

Yep, I purchased the keg for that price with a printout of the discount voucher.

    • just for reference, i got a couple of them for 17 dollars last time with the 10 dollar voucher so 19.90 doesnt seem too far fetched!

  • $29.90 in this press advert( last page ) until 22sept in WA so less $10 =19.90

    http://www.danmurphys.com.au/images/ads/wa/wapress1.pdf

seems the same advert for all states expt NT and Tas

  • +1

Awesome deal. I'll drink 1 per night for the next week - if I live that long…

  • is it made in australia same as coronas and what not?

    • nah it is imported, someone mentioned it up above
      holland perhaps?

  • MY local woolies has this on sale for 22$, still not bad if you couldnt be bothered printing out the coupon

    • … but doesn't this voucher work for woolworths liquour as well?

  • Woot. Picked one up at the Casula store last night. At first I was a bit worried because the guy at the counter wasn't sure if the coupon was valid, but he got the okay after checking with his manager :)

  • i tried it straight off my iphone. Manager said i needed the actual print out coupon to staple the receipt to. dodgy. I was trying to save a tree.

  • Just picked one up at the Dandenong Rd East Malvern (Vic) Store with no problem.

There was a stack in the middle of the store including twin packs.

The first one I picked up had an expiry date of Feb 2011, so good for Christmas. Had planned to drink it at a grand final weekend bbq, so might need to go and get another.

On the keg it states that it needs 10 hours refrigeration and has a 30 day quality guarantee from opening - although mine won't last a day.

    Great deal!

    • Heading back there on my way home tonight to grab another ^_^

  • Just picked up 3 (went with 2 mates) for a get together 2night:) even with heineken cases on special this week (for $38.90 at FCL) this works out to just under $60 for 15L of beer.
Difference in volume between 3 kegs or 2 cases = .84L (2.5 Bottles) more to the 2 cases.
    Difference in price between 3kegs or 2 cases = $18.10 (Kegs - $59.70 vs Cases - $77.80)
I'll live without the 2.5 other bottles;)
    Thanks!

  • 28-12-10 ub in mandurah WA pickup up 2 cold ones into the first already
tastes great thanks for the discount voucher

  • Got 2 - great deal, might go back next week and get moar!

  • how many get you get at a time.

  • After seeing your post, I've used the coupon twice with plans to get more. Bargain of the year in my opinion.

  • Got 2 @ DM in Doveton (VIC) for $19.90 each…….went to diff cashiers for each keg !!! Expires Dec 10.
Suggest putting in a bucket of ice after cooling period……you can easily tell the beer starts to go flat the next day.
great tasting and highly recommended to finish in 1 sitting i.e. between 2 mates on GF day !!!
    thanks for great deal.

  • yup yup, picked one up (and finished it off) friday night, will be getting a couple more (two dan murphy's on the way drive to & from work)

    • How long did it take to chill?

  • Just picked up another at East Malvern Vic with use by date of Feb 2011!

  • +2
