JB Hifi had them for $388 a few weeks ago. I had problem posting the deal.

    • +1

Damn! And no one else posted it? Would have been an awesome deal to grab these at that price point with local warranty.

    • You sure that was the 1000x?

Being in JB almost daily (semi work related) I saw them on sale in store (and online) during the lead up to EOFY for $588, down from their usual $699. I was looking into getting myself a pair.

    • Hearsay, your Honour!

Sorry, had the price mixed up. Looked back at the photos i had taken and it was $588. Sorry guys……

  • Just curious. How are they compared to the Sony bx770bn or whatever they are called.
They sell at jbhifi for $299.
Sometimes they're on sale via outlets for like $220
I've compared specs and they look the same

    • My partner has one and it's entry level only. Soundstage and NC not as good as compared to their premium headphones. Atleast she doesn't have headband cracking issues ;-)

    • I have the 770s. the noise cancelling isnt worth $300. I do like the sound they put out though. Try before you buy

      • oh really? Im not a audiophile, but I tried it with and without NC on the plane and hte differnece was very noticeable.

however ive never tried the qc35,

how do you guys even compare, I actually compared a few at jbhifi and couldnt tell the differnece,

now you guys are making me feel bad, feel like selling mine and buying qc35s!

        • Bose is the king of ANC. Tried the 3 main contenders at JB hi-fi. Go in during lunch time on a working day. Just walk around and listen to all the noise and commotion going on, then put these headphones with NC turned on…it's a pure bliss, a surreal feeling…it's as though the world around you is on mute!! Once you go ANC with these bad boys, you will never hear another thing (pun intended) ;-)

        • @abovethelimit: It only blocks low frequency sound or sound that follows a consistent pattern, like white noise and humming. You will still hear people talking, just not as loud.

        • As others have said, it only cancels low frequncy white noise. I was expecting it to atleast lower other noise too.

That being said i use mine daily at the moment and am very happy. Very good at keeping people from talking to you at the office.

If you buy it, prepare to crack.
I bought it 3 month ago, and headband two sides cracks.

    • Well if it's 3 months old didn't you get it replaced under warranty?

      • I have posted his forum information link above in the post and he has sent it back to ATA under warranty claims apparently. I am curious to know what the outcome is?

      • I bouglt it from Addicted to audio, they replay

Sony have replied to us this morning to report that unfortunately this will not be covered under warranty as it stems from a physical break caused by end user usage.

then I contacted Sony, sony charged me 165.4$

    • Local or grey? I've heard the issue is only with imported ones…

      • Spose it would be local as it was sold by ATA who only deals with local stocks?

    • +2

This issue has been a bit of hit and miss. 3 of my colleagues have this headphones, 1 of which has copped a lot of abuse and none of them had the cracking issues. I even checked them thoroughly before posting this deal. 1 x Grey stock and rest of them are local stocks.

  • +1

Bought these (Aussie stock) less than a month ago and are indeed great headphones and the issues are apparently mainly with Grey stock. Wish I could keep mine but sadly I have to sell them :/

    • Have you already sold it? I'm interested for the right price of course.

    • Why do you have to sell them, I mean are you buying a different brand/model. Just curious, Thanks

  • Better than Bose QC35?

    • +1

      This gets asked every time.

It is better in NC, features, AQ, and potentially price (since Bose is against price cutting). Comfort, the Bose wins out over long periods of continuous use. It has side touch pad controls, you can cover it with your palm to let outside audio in if someone is speaking to you. You can also listen to it with NC off in wireless mode. QC35 you can only turn off NC in wired mode.

But like others have said, try before you buy.

      • Which stores can you try both on?

        • JB hi-fi. I tested both of them out there and HN for Sennheiser PXC550. All worthy contenders for Sound reproduction, wireless connectivity and ANC.

        • I tested them both at JB hi-fi today. The noise blocking was very impressive. When you cup your right ear, it will let sound in, and you can immediately tell how much noise it was blocking out. I'll be getting a pair when there's a good deal on local stock.

YMMV but it also felt very comfortable, like it just fit my ears perfectly, whereas the QC35 was a tight fit and didn't give me much room to breathe. It's ear cups are slightly smaller than the 1000X. Still comfortable though, but I didn't test either pair for long periods obviously, so I can't say how long it remains comfortable for. Both are very lightweight and the ear pads are soft. Not sure if they will get warm after a while.

        • Thanks both of you for your feedback.

      • +1

Worth mentioning, with the newest firmware on the QC35s you can now adjust the level of NC - high, medium or off in wireless mode..

        • Good to know. Must be a response to feedback.

  • If any of you are in Sony X, these are available as Aussie stock for $419.

I won’t tell you what I got mine for during the EOFY sale :P

    • +1

Yeah also picked up one up during the sale a few months ago. Sold my QC25 as I couldn't say no to the price they had. Dangerous being with Sony X, have bought so many TV's for family!

      • Ok, ill bite.. How the hell do you get in on this Sony X thing!? I have searched numerous times and always end up at a dead end, help a brother out!?

        • Facebook….search for Sony X. All the latest updates and flash sales are posted there.

    • $329 if memory serves :)

  • I need premium noise canceling headphones that can be used via audio cable (for Dacs etc.) and Bluetooth; both with noise cancellation. Will these be suitable?

    • The NC works in wired mode. Most ANC headphones do.

You can use the promo code: 3subscribe to get them for $387.03.
