  • Quick question on the Hisense fridge, if you buy with delivery does that include installation or just drop off at the door?

    • Best to call your local store to confirm as I have purchased a washer from their eBay site and paid $30 for delivery at that time (i think they charge $50 now?), only to find out it was for ground level drop off service, had to pay extra to get it up to my apartment on the first floor, the guy did unpack and install for me though, I guess depends on the delivery guy as well. Hope this helps.

    • Not sure about white goods from TGG but they might have an option to install it for a fee? I know appliances online will install and take away old one as i ordered from them last time (very quick and hassle free).

    • +1

They apparently offer "Premium Delivery" (from the link Hamza provided below):

      "What is Premium delivery?

Premium delivery is The Good Guys upgraded delivery service. The Good Guys will deliver the product you have purchased into your home, unpack it from the box, then take away all packaging for you as well as removing your old product".

Not sure if you could organise it via eBay though.

      • i just bought a washing machine from them 2 days ago. bought and paid via ebay and selected instore pickup. i then asked for the premium delivery and they just added it on top. delivered the next day.

    • +1

I bought a fridge from the GG off their eBay store with standard delivery and the delivery guy unpacked it, wheeled it into place and took the packaging away. Nice guy too.

  • $5 delivery..are they using registered post?

    • For some reason delivery on their eBay store is only $5.06, compared to $8 on their website.

Not sure if they are using Aus Post or courier but it is tracked. Shipping

      Is my order tracked?

When your order has been packed and shipped, you will receive an email letting you know your order is on its way to you. For further updates on tracking your order status please contact The Good Guys store fulfilling your order.

Postage on eBay for me now says $50.14… is there some special OzBargaining voodoo code for cheap shipping or have they just updated the costs after seeing hamza23's post??

        • +3

This $5 delivery comment is in regards to the X-300 speaker ($5.06 to be exact), not the fridge unfortunately :)

        • @hamza23:
oh haha :) would have been nice

    • are they using registered post?

Registered Post is only available for letters and not parcels.

It would either be Parcel Post, a satchel or courier.

      • +2

        must be using a satchel…

        • They all have tracking if that's what you're worried about.

What's the energy efficiency look like?

    • +37

A line of stars in arced in a semi circle.

      • -6

Your head looks like it's been environmentally damaged.

        • +13

You look like the child I would produce.

  • +1

I bought this fridge early this year at HN for a much higher price…

    • What's your thoughts on it?

      • +10

        I bet it's cool.

      • +2

It is my third Hisense fridge. It is definitely better than my previous Samsung. Its capacity is larger and price is much lower.

        • +1

So you used to have a Samsung then have replaced with 3 Hinsense fridges…

        • @MaMan:

No, Hisense. I know a quality Hinsense when I see one.

        • @MaMan:

          1 for myself.
          1 for my mum.
1 for my kids (baby staff)

        • +6

          @ylbeethoven:

Your children are infant employees? Do any of them sound like Alec Baldwin?

  • Great price for this fridge

  • +1

2.5 star energy efficency. A bit low IMHO.

    • +1

I don't get out of bed for anything less than 5 star.

    • +13

      Purchase + running costs over 10 years for a 2.5 star fridge @ $574 = ~$2185

      Purchase + running costs over 10 years for a 5 star fridge @ $1600 = ~$2360

So even at 10 years you are better off with a 2.5 star fridge. This assumes an energy tariff of 27c/kWh & that you can even get a 5 star fridge with an equivalent volume as the Hisense for $1600 (?).

You can do the maths (http://www.energyrating.gov.au/calculator).

      • +1

Sad. Is there a Star/Volume sweet spot?

        • +1

          You mean like an e-spot?

        • +4

          You'll never find it

        • -1

          @Scab: or G-Spot

      • Is 27c/kWh realistic these days? I'm in SA btw. I might need to look at changing providers.

        • +1

Not sure in SA, but in NSW it is.

        • +1

          Same in Qld

        • +1

I'm on 35.6840c/kw minus 18% discount (for step 1 and 2) = 29.2576c/kw here in SA. Those rates are until next early-mid next year at least.

So 27c isn't far off even for SA.

I recently switched, it appears some retailers disproportionately raised their rates compared to others. Some are close to 40c mark after or 35-36c mark before discount but there are okay rates out there elsewhere. Keep in mind when comparing that some discounts are for usage only, whilst others include the supply charge (makes a small difference).

      • Also consider if you have solar you're more or less paying 12 cents per kWh or less and given the fridge runs as a constant load it can change the equation substantially.

  • Cheers picked up 2 speakers, time to test out this dual bluetooth thing people are talking about.

    • what's the dual bluetooth thing? No people I know r talking about it! I've got one of these (IMO v. good sound for price, took it on holidays + spotify = pool relaxation ++), would buy another if there is some cool stereo/surround type of function..

      • Bluetooth 5.0 let's you connect to two Bluetooth speakers at once and play them in stereo mode.

        • +2

Okay I'm sold… doesn't take much to convince me Mr or Mrs mango

        • @wilbs: Please, just Mango is fine ;)

    • Mind sharing on how do you actually do dual thingy? I couldn't find any info on web. I've got one of these and might get another. Cheers

      • From what I understand you need a device with Bluetooth 5.0, I have a Samsung S8+ and that supports it so I'll use that.

        • Oh so its not about the speaker. Got XZP. Gonna try. Cheers

  • This from Good Guys - any idea if this is good deal?

  • If you're looking for a slightly bigger Hisense fridge with water dispenser, I picked this up for $880 price match from JB HiFi.

    • +2

I'm after a slightly skinnier one. This is too fat for the hole by 2 inches.

      • +3

        That's what she said

        • +1

          there's always one

        • @watts: Thats what he said

        • @MaMan: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

    • IT's worth the extra price if just to avoid the "I filled up the ice trays last time" fights

    • How did you get it price matched for $880?

      Its $1099-15% = $934.14

      • Ticketed price at JB was $1044

        • So you bought it from Good Guys or JB?

        • @eruption:

Good Guys as they had more stock.

        • +1

          @jerryme:

I still don't see how you got it for $880.

  • +2

How's the picture quality on this fridge? Same as the M7000 series?

    • You've never eaten food until you've eaten food in HDR!

The vegetables are so colorful and vibrant they pop out at you!

  • They have removed the X300 speaker.

    • Still okay here for both colours:

      Item (1) AU $45.00
      Vouchers -AU $6.75
      Order total AU $38.25

  • I ended up getting the LG 668L fridge for $1443.30 (after the 15% discount) In their catalogue and a few days ago it was $1798. Harvey Norman has it for $1698 and you get a few bottles of wine. So far loving this fridge as it has a automatic water and ice dispenser.

  • This isn't really related to the fridge but I just bought the Tefal FV4042 ultraglide iron from the goodguys on sale for $57 down from $69.95. I didnt realise it was on sale on ebay but I needed it today, so oh well! if you buy it with the discount code it comes down to AU $48.45 which is a great price for this iron as it seems to have pretty amazing reviews across the board and is the lowest price I can find.

  • +1

Bought one of these 6 months ago as a best compromise for a cheap fridge for a big family that fit the space we had. It's been good so far and a purchase I'd make again if efficiency not a primary concern.

    • This is my exact current situation roller. Wondering, i've only 2cm each side in the existing cavity according to the specs: how much did u have and do u reckon its loud too?

I've already ordered one (TGG already called to deliver!!) so I'm locked in anyway.

  • +1

Nice price… would bite but have no room to store one of these whilst i wait for my existing fridge to die out.

  • Thanks, OP.

    Picked up Simpson-SWT1043-10kg-Top-Load-Washer for $763.30 - 1.3% cashrewards - $100 cashback =$653.50

FYI LG and BOSCH appear to have a cashback going on Washers too.

  • I bought this fridge for $748 about 2 weeks ago. I just sent in a form to get the difference through Good Guys concierge program.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Ordered about 30 mins ago and just got a call from my local good guys to arrange delivery for tomorrow, and they will remove my old fridge for $19.

    • Does this delivery on the ebay page inc installation or is that part of the $19 extra you spent.

      • -1

Not too sure, didn't want to ask and possibly get charged more again. The way I figure it is that all the food is in the old fridge, so before they can take the old fridge it will need to be removed and put in the new fridge. They can either wait for me to unpack the new fridge and transfer the food or they can help out and speed up the process. We will see tomorrow.

        • +1

Or they can deliver the new fridge, find out that you aren't prepared for them to remove your old fridge and leave. Then charge you an extra callout fee to come back and get it when you finally decided to remove your food.

Delivery is delivery, installation is installation. It's certainly not the stores responsibility to unpack and repack your food.

        • Like most stores they are unable to provide a delivery time, just the day that they will deliver. What would you suggest, that I empty the freezer first thing in the morning and prey that they arrive before the food is ruined???

I would imagine that few customer would be rushing to empty a freezer before their new one arrived.

You are obviously just a bit more considerate and richer than most.

  • I ended up buying this fridge via eBay,night before promotion ended.Sunbury store was listed as having stock, buteverytime I went to pay via PayPal a error msg would appear. I had multiple payments and then refunds in PayPal after multiple attempts. Decided to try putting pick up from Taylor's lakes, went through first time. called Sunbury store next morning and they had 1 in stock. tried to somehowchange pick up to Sunbury. NO SUCH LUCK. Received sms and call from Taylor's lakes store that my fridge is ready for pick up on that day Tuesday.Wednesday close to 5 pm, I receive a call from Tony from good guys. who is so confusing I finally work.out, his telling me item is still at warehouse and if I want to.pick.it up. I will have to.pick.it up after 4pm Thursday.

Thursday I call to change to delivery but instead of the $50 deliver fee quoted via website and eBay. The store wants to charge me 90 as the 50 delivery is only for online orders. So shitty with lack.of service
