man, nobody can get this due to everyone and its in 10 hrs time.

    • +5

I have set my alarm to wake up at 3 am to wait in front of my computer.

Even if it's at full price….stick a Samsung sticker over the Bluboo.

Prob fool 99% of the people.

      • Just to clarify, it should be 4am for Syd/Melb/Brisbane right? Starts in 10 hours and 5 mins from now and it's 555pm now = 4am start. Don't want you waking up an hour early for nothing also!

        • +24

If I read it right, there are 10 units available. Divide by 1000 people trying to score a cheap phone. Wouldn't we all be better off just sleeping? Tell the Bangood marketing department to take a freaking jump.

        • +10

          @AlbyDuck:

agree 100% seriously its not worth the saving of like $50 max take a hike banggood

        • +1

@AlbyDuck: agreed. Every time i tried going for a deal there's probably a million local Chinese shoppers going for the same shit. No chance.

      • +7

Nobody cares if you're using a samsung, or not.

        • +1

no, but everyone would be DYING to find out what's under that Samsung sticker coz the phone looks so cool

        • +6

My telephone is better than your telephone … Could you imagine people with the old turn dial handsets saying this sorta stuff 20 yrs ago when touch tone came out.. ridiculous

        • @wingwang: We all know off white is better then beige, so don't get me started. I heard they are bring out a green, GREEN can you imagine?

      • +8

And here we have a demonstration of a fundamental flaw of society - buying stuff coz other people think it's cool! cough Apple cough

Only mucking around, saw your response to gikku's comment

    • You can get it normally for US$149

Nice looking beast, for the price, but I'd be careful of possible unwanted (spyware) apps in the ROM.

      • Nice looking beast, for the price,

I would wait until I see the real thing.

        • true, might not look as good as an S8 up close…

        • @RedHab:

I am just thinking may not as good as the photo.

      • +1

its using a 360 rom = spyware and adware

        avoid

360 is like a norton of china without morals

        • +1

          Might be relevant here:

          CNET reports:
Amazon just put budget phone maker Blu in the penalty box.

The online retailing giant told CNET that it was suspending sales of phones from Blu, known for making ultra-cheap Android handsets, due to a "potential security issue." The move comes after security firm Kryptowire demonstrated last week how software in Blu's phones collected data and sent it to servers in China without alerting people. Blu defended the software, created by a Chinese company called Shanghai Adups Technology, and denied any wrongdoing.

  • Edit - wow nice price

    3G: WCDMA 900/2100MHz (B8/B1)

Note it lacks 850mhz 3G so it's not the best device for Telstra users. and of course, no B28.

and looks like they have a Bluetooth controlled fidget spinner too

  • Does this have a notification led and a removable battery?

  • S8 copy lol but what a great price, the MTK cpu is a letdown but most would not know the difference.

    • surprisingly the Helio X25 in this is fairly on par with the Snapdragon 820 bar the 3D Processing

    • If most would not know the difference its probably not a letdown then.

  • How much for the postage? How long will it take to Melbourne?

    • Preorder—-unknown date + delivery usually are 20+ business days….
      could be months.
But if I could score one at 50% off…dont mind waiting.
i wouldn't hold my breath for it to arrive though….it would only be a toy or spare

  • Get this. Buy dbrand skins. Win lol

    • No dbrand 4 this.LoL.

"Not only that but from the 1st to the 7th of August, the first 10 phones to sell for every day will cost $79.99!"

  • The screen is not full HD, from memory its 1440x720.

    Correct me if wrong.

    • That's right. It says that in the description on Banggood.

      • +2

Thanks for checking. In a meeting and Banggood looks like I am online shopping, where OzB looks like I am replying to an email haha.

    • +2

Remember the ancient times of 2011 when everybody was all like "bitch what? no one is going to want more than 1280x720 on a phone screen. 1920x1080 on a phone? You nuts bro?"

      • +4

640KB bro is all you need… Lol

        • -1

          Hi Gill Bates.

  • So uh … presumably this has nothing to do with the previous Amazon best selling cheap BLU phone that phoned home to China. The name is all familiar and everything ..

    • no, BLU is a budget phone brand that's popular* (air quotes) in the states and in the UK, Bluboo has nothing to do with BLU.

  • Does anyone have experience with these? Would 3G work on Vodafone? Was thinking this would be a decent, cheap phone for my 12y/o kid.

  • +2

Great price but this is more like a lottery.

    • No you just exchange money for goods as usual.

      • +1

No. It's more like a lottery. 10 phones vs 1000's of people trying to get a cheap phone. Sounds more like a lucky dip than a purchase to me…

        • -1

No, a lucky dip has different items on offer, this is just 10 Bluboos.

        • +1

@WatchNerd: At 4am, you log in, click on add to cart and see if you are lucky enough to get one of the 10 for that price among all the other people reaching in the barrel to grab a chance…

          Lucky Dip
          Noun
          1. lucky dip - a game in which prizes (e.g., candies or coins) are concealed in a container and for a small sum a player can draw one out at random.
          2. lucky dip - a selection or decision purely at random; "their system of selling phones seemed to be some sort of lucky dip…"

        • @pegaxs:

Presumably you see the price before you pay? In which case, you don't have to buy if you don't get one of the discounted ones.

        • @elusive: Correct! But getting that price is the lucky dip… :)

  • -1

how can 1440x720 can call sharp?

Also it said A$231 for me

    • +6

see that bit in the title which says "[Starts 1/8 4AM EST]"…….

  • -3

So they stole the S8 design and name? Savage.

  • +9

The Bluboo s8 will give u Bluballs for the real s8

  • Well I'm sold… It says it has staggering performance giving a superior chipset….

    • -2

Its supposed to be a "superior chipset giving staggering performance" but since its only a 1.5 octacore MTK I bet we will all remain 'unstaggered'.

also the use of the term "Full Display" is amazingly clever.

      Not Full HD but "FULL".

The reality is that a 720p phone is a hard sell these days… I think about $150 is a fair price to pay for a 720p phone with the std. 13mp cam.

Compare the Helio X25 against the SD820. It comes out well and only loses out in 3D scores (which is a big part of Antutu but less in Geekbench)

        • This doesn't have the x25 though, the name can be a bit confusing.

Here's a direct comparison of this phones chip set and the x25

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jIgCdNaMKw

        • @Butt Scratcher: woooah just liked the chingrish sentence didnt want to start a chipset-war!… its less than $100 if the chipset can even run 2 apps at a time its a win..hahaha anyway it was all a SCAM to get people to sign up.

        • @scud70: My point wasn't to compare which chip set is better, he mistook it for a lower tier chipset. Probably important to point that out. Imagine buying and iPhone 6s only to find out it was an iPhone 6

  • yow-ratio: 44.2GF/$aud96.41 = .46

  • Anyone know whats the radiation output of this?

    • Just enough to be a concern…

      /s

  • +5

Tremendous memory to convenient your life… Sounds legit.

    • Too much memory frustrates life actually.

  • +3

This is the right price for a S8!

  • +2

Not sure why this type of post made it here since most of the dropshippers do these bait daily to lure people into their site. With 10 available units, I think our OZB community would be lucky to get one person getting one at this price. lol

    • Banggood
  • 1440x720 resolution

That's the coolest shit-tier screen I've ever seen.

  • +1

Again, speaking from owning one of these out a few years ago, i explained in the old posts on yet another one of these phones on WHY NOT TO GET these phones unless you are a pro aim to toy around and not use it for real as your everyday device… :)
basically expect no software update, android 7 will stay on forever and worst no security patches so any mighty exploits left by google for the NSA what not will be there un patched.
expect no warranty down the track, no brainer :)
expect poor build quality on components
so pretty much a 100 dollar lottery for the unboxing fun and ROM hacking.

  • +10

    Bluboo owner here

Don't have this specific model but ive had a few chinadroids over the years and the bluboo i currently use is by far the worst. It overheats and barely runs even in cold temperature (particularly after charging) and the GPS is quite bad. Also it is loaded with adware that i haven't been able to bypass. I can't even remove base apps off this phone (unlike the doogees i owned in the past) so just be warned as far as chinadroids go and the recent xiaomi deals, you would prolly be better with one of those (in fact i might go for one of the xiaomis)

    • It's that bad huh….
I guess I will have to fork out extra $800 for the real S8 then

      • it's actually terrible, the GPS doesn't even move in poke-go, you have to turn the screen off and on to get it to even move at all, and i didnt even mention the battery life which is also atrocious. There are so many other basic issues that even the doogees dont have that this suffers from so - that's my experience, just be forewarned about it

  • +6

Sorry to be that guy… I tried waking up at 4am for one of these BangGood flash sales once, and because of the congestion, its like the servers were getting DDOS. I also don't think 10 stock is enough - look there's already over 40 positive votes, and I'm sure at least 10 of them would be keen on trying.

    Not a fair deal IMO

  • So by their product line, is this better than Bluboo S1?

Problem with these all new "mix" style phones, I can't see hands-on review probably because no one has gotten their hands on them yet.

  • +1

If memory serves, this is the company that did a S7 knock off too. I saw a youtube review. Overall he was impressed with the physical quality of it, though on close inspection you could see it was a fake if you knew what you were looking for. Apparently it's downfall was the performance, it was faking a faster CPU than it really was. When benchmarked it was WAY slower than it should have been. From memory it cost the guy about $60 USD or something so it's probably the same company making this one.

Performance is where this will come unstuck, but appearance should be pretty good if that's your main concern. (Shrugs).

EDIT: Of course I could be completely wrong, I'm very tired. Either way, 3GB/32GB phone at this price is impressive. I'd buy it for my daughter.

  • Let's be real, no one is gonna get one as 10 phones is insanely against the odds, you can have one but its going to be $149USD

  • +1

    all gone lol

  • +3

lolz waited for 0s and instasoldout!

    • Pretty much

  • +1

yea gone in seconds? not even

  • Got one!…NOT!

  • +3

The promotion is completely fake, this happened in the past with their other promotions as well on their website. Everything is always gone in 1 sec! How can anyone check out and pay in 1 sec, think about that! The promotion is obviously a fake / sham.

  • Should ban the rep here then. Unobtainable deal done to generate clicks.

    • -1

But the Rep didn't post the deal.

      • I know but the rep can do something about it. As people have said it was basically unobtainable. I woke up to have a look five minutes before and can mirror what other posters have said.

  • +6

Err guys.. I said that before. Every Dropship company does some level of Bait to get you to try and squeeze at a certain time. Given only 10 was available and that there is 1.5 BILLION Chinese alone inside China let amongst the world, your chances of getting it at this price is probably the same as winning 1st prize in Lotto.

Mods: Please do not allow this type of posts to come on. I know there is a rule for a minimum quantity of stock to be >10, but this case is ridiculous coming from someone who's been using Chinese Mobiles for years. Bait sales on Dropshipping needs to have at least 100+ quantity before anyone in Australia stands a chance of getting it.

  • +3

how did this "deal" made it to the front page in the first place… come on guys…

    • +2

The Op didn't put in the description that there was only 10 available, so by the time the mods added it, the votes had already reached sheep voting level.

  • +3

Reminds me of the Catch of the Day "deals" from a few years back, fantastic prices on items, but all gone within moments after going live.

  • Didn't someone say this was gonna be like a weeklong thing? If so, why's this expired?

    • I got up to see if I get lucky….not only I didn't score a phone, nor did I score a try in bed at 4am. Got a penalty instead.

As most ppl said….nit really a deal when it's lottery percentage.

      Expired post serves it good

      • it's not expired. lottery will take place again tomorrow morning. you shouldn't unexpire it.

        • That's what I was thinking and hoping.

Can't say I need one, but if I'm up, which I likely will be, I'll hit it up at 4. It's a pretty decent looking deal.

  • it still says 18h before the deal opens..

  • +2

I hold a bluboo maya max. Its battery is a beast, it works even if the screen broke but software wise they are pathetic phones. Thier technical support is even more pathetic, they dont reply to any thing.

Bluboo doesnt provide regular software updates so be aware before buying it.

  • Not only did they rip off the body, they even used the S8 name. Have they no shame?
