    Good first deal!

Thankyou! I brought one myself so thought everyone here would enjoy.

  • oh oh oh I want!! Any one use it??

    • +1

I've got the older version and I use mine all the time! Probably 70% the speed of wired fast charging.

      My old;

      • Galaxy S5 got a damaged charge port - replaced via Ebay part fairly easy $35
      • GalaxyS6 got a damaged charge port - requires screen replacement $300+

If you consider how often that crappy charge plug goes in and out and wobbles about over a year no wonder the ports fail. Use this and hopefully save yourself a dodgy port and pricey replacement!

      • +1

Look into magnetic USB cables. Can charge by cable and never worry about wear and tear on the USB port.

        https://www.aliexpress.com/item/ALONGDUO-Braided-3-IN-1-Magn…

        • I don't think these support QC.

        • @mg_k: I have not noticed any difference in speed from these and the originals.

        • Its not flat. Still exposing 5mm worth of connector there that can damage the port inside.

        • +1

@bchliu: Not sure what you mean. They stick out yeah. But you're not going to be removing them. The damage comes from frequent plugging and removal.

        • @lostn: Damage comes from knocking the part that is sticking out. For me, I rather the inconvenience of plugging it in than for an extra bit to be sticking out of my phone that can potentially damage it if knocked about too much.

        • +1

Have one and can say its more gimmicky than its purpose. to pull it off easier usually you can 'snap'off movement to the side, but when you let it charge it is easy to snap it off acidently.

        • No expert in usb ports, but what happens if something metal comes across all the contacts, like a key or something?

        • @bchliu: Why would you be knocking them? Do you drop your phone a lot?

It goes as deep as the port, so there's no room for movement.

        • @Dnkei: You're not meant to pull it off. It's meant to stay there.

        • @bargainsville:

No expert in usb ports, but what happens if something metal comes across all the contacts, like a key or something?

It shouldn't do anything. It's designed to come into contact with metal. But if you do damage it, the worst that happens is you have to buy another magnetic tip for $1. That's cheaper than if something metal damaged something permanent, like your USB port.

      • You must treat your phones like crap when they are plugged in

  • wait.. whats the difference to this one? https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/samsung-fast-wireless-chargin…

    • +2

second word in the title :)

    • +2

USB C and you can lay it down flat

    • I have this one, sometimes it just didn't recognize the phone and keep draining the battery out.

    • The old Samsung chargers have compatibility issues with newer mobiles/non-Samsung mobiles/cooling fan noise (when fast charging).

I would not recommend the older models.

  • +3

I'm getting, 'This Product is not available for Pick up'. Anyone else have the same issue?

    • +1

Yeah I cant order pickup either, ive updated the title to reflect delivery only. Sorry :(

    • +5

Yeah got the same error. Went with delivery cos I can't be bothered.

      And now I'm $67.30 poorer.
      Shouldn't browse ozbargain during work.

Think of the savings. THE SAVINGS!

      • Think the bright side, at least you can keep charging your phone and easily answer the phone (without unplugging that might takes the extra 2 sec plus the issue of snapping the usb port and damage the phone all together) to answer the next job opportunity….

      • The good guys called this morning. Out of stock. Told them I'll wait for the next shipment. Anyone else got the call?

    • +1

Yup, it saves you the hassle of plugging in the USB-C cable :D

    • +26

It has to get electricity from somewhere bud. We haven't made that breakthrough yet.

        • +3

Haha. Didn't neg you champ. I knew where you were coming from but it certainly did sound like you expected the device to generate its own power.

The answer to your question is no. The charger cannot double up as a power bank.

        • -7

I gave u a negative cause u seem to be concerned about negs

        • -5

@djones145: I nagged you coz you don't seem to be concerned about negs

        • -3

          @D6C1:
Omg why you negative, I'm sad now

      • -1

I'm surprised no one has come out to claim "Tesla did it"..

    • +4

But you still have to have the pad connected by a charger?

Nope, it runs off hopes and dreams!

      • +3

I have kids, phone reports - NOT CHARGING???

  • Great price for the pad. Shame it's so expensive to begin with. Does look aesthetic as compared to other chargers and will look nice on my desk.

    • +1

Depending how hooked you are on your phone its also easier to view readily - kinda sits on that 45 deg angle!

  • Now $62.30

    • It's 62.30 + 5 delivery. No click and collect.

      • ah my bad

  • +2

Anyone have recommendations for a good ac charger to go with this?

  • +4

Eh. Blitzwolf just as good and costs about $25

    • +1

Some people prefer Local Stock and a reputable brand.

      • +14

Erm… Blitzwolf is reputable… at least, they've done me great with charges/cables for a year so far.

        • Reputable as in known worldwide. I personally like Blitzwolf too and would prefer them if they had the same function and a lower price.

    • Link?

    • can you please link to hte one you mean? :)

    • you forgot to mention the 25-49 days shipping time

  • This won't work with a case on your phone will it?

    • I have the samsung silicone case and do not see a difference with the case on.

    • Yup it should work fine with most normal cases, ive got a Galaxy S8+ on the older Samsung Fast Wireless Charger working no issue.

      • hmm I have a pelican voyager, reckon it would work? has a clear back…?

        • Clear back is fine, metal back cases and those with the metal finger rings/stands will block the wireless charge.

    • It will.

    • +2

Just don't make the same mistake I did and use a cheap case with a metal stand built into the back of it, nearly caught my house on fire.

  • +1

New one might be coming with note8 but i bought one anyway. Thanks OP

  • What does 'convertible' mean?

    • +2

It can be a flat charging pad or a stand (source: I have one)

  • Will JB hifi price match?

    • I'm going to give them a try today and see

      • Thomastown JB said its too low and they cant match

    • Matched by JB Artarmon about 30 mins ago.

      Thanks @naomit81

  • does this work with an s6?

    • +1

It should work fine, reports I've seen are that the old Samsung fast chargers don't work well with the new Samsung S8/S8+. (which is odd because reportedly the components are the same.

I've noticed from the Samsung devices and wireless chargers I own the issue comes when fast wireless charging is attempted, in those cases disabling fast wireless charging in the mobile settings or using a non-fast charging wall adapter to fall back to standard wireless charging always works.

      https://www.androidcentral.com/these-android-phones-can-hand…

  • Damn just bought the first model off eBay last night for $25, owell

  • Is this one the same?

    $59.95 shipped - plus C5OZ, plus Cashrewards…

    • Hmmmm Brand Unbranded/Generic

      • -1

Ok. So what about this one for $69.97 before discounts?

        Option 1:

        $66.47 (using C5OZ) Delivered

        Option 2:

Use the above plus a potential 1.3% cashback via Cashrewards ($0.86)

        $65.61 Delivered

        Option 3:

Buy something else to bring your total to $100 and use THANKYOU20. And use Cashrewards.

        Potentially $55.25 ($69.97 * 0.8 * 0.987)

Just saying, there are cheaper ways to buy it.

        • My only concern is the potential for fakes…even though it says genuine. More so because there are heaps of these fake qi chargers out there and really goof ones at that.

  • Great, I just purchased one thank you

  • I just bought the same item from this eBay seller for $59, and it was a genuine item. I like it so far, definitely quicker than the early Qi chargers, but as the OP notes you need your own USB cable and wall adapter, so just be aware you won't actually get a complete unit. Also the charging light on it is bloody bright, I had to move it away from my bedside table!

    • -1

So wait…. It doesn't come with a cable or wall plug?

      • +1

Correct, just the charging pad. Power cable input is USB C and Samsung fast charger for fast wireless charging.

        • That sucks. Looked at a few unboxing YouTube videos and cable and plug were included. Could be different in different countries.

          I'll check tomorrow

        • @D6C1: Samsung Australia website shows

          Packaging Contents
Wireless Charger Convertible, Quick Start Guide, Micro USB Connector

          http://www.samsung.com/au/mobile-accessories/wireless-charge…

Looks like it comes with a micro USB to USB-C head.

        • +1

@jeworge: yeah not sure what to tell you guys, but both me and a friend ordered these from different places (he got his from JB, mine from eBay) and neither came with an AC adapter or a USB cable. Just a tiny little adapter to go from USB-C to USB (this is the 'micro USB connector' mentioned)

        • +1

@Dominus: And thats exactly what was in the box from JB. Samsung site telling fibs

    • +1

I'm unsure why I'd spend $8 more on this deal.

    • +2

alot of fakes on ebay for wireless chargers. I'd stick to TGG.

      • Try ULTRA STORE on eBay, Samsung Australia authorised reseller, only sell genuine products.

    • I just sent 2 back to that seller because they were fakes. Both of them would not switch to "trickle mode" when the phone was fully charged. The led stayed blue and the fan kept going all night long. Led is supposed to change to green and the fan stop when phone charged.

  • I got the 2016 model from zapals. It failed to charge my S7 Edge from now and then after around 6 months of usage.

I wonder if I should get this model…

Cannot resist spending. $67 something poorer

TGG Thomastown rang to tell me that they are out of stock, and they will back order if I am happy to wait for a few weeks. I said yes.

  • Can you use this for the Xiaomi Mi6?

    • +1

I can't see why it wouldn't work on any phone that supports wireless charging. The cheap generic ones do.

  • Can this charge other phones with wireless charging or only compatible with samsung?

    • +2

Any mobile that uses Qi wireless charging, not specifically Samsung.
