Logitech X-530 5.1 Surround Speaker System - $59 @ Centrecom (VIC)

341

Long time user, first time blah blah blah……

Got a catalogue in the mail today, from Centrecom advertising the famous Logitech X-530 5.1 Surround Sound System for $59. The catalogue has no date on it, and the Centrecom website makes no reference to the Catalogues existence. The website also advertises the speakers for $66.

However, I took the catalogue to Officeworks tonight and the Service Assistant was happy to beat the price by 5%. So a good bargain for an awesome set of speakers ($56.05)

Take it or dump it. Regardless, Thanks for reading!

Lol, you're gonna fit in well around here dude! ;)

  • I can't believe they are still making these speakers, i've had mine for ages, not complaints at that price though.

    • same here, i think i bought 1 of these 5 years ago .. they are still in great condition, although i only use 2/5 speakers because no space to put the other 3

Only $60 over at MSY, and after their previous debacle, not so sure Centrecom should be getting exposure here:

Fair point! In their defence though, they might be offering "bonus shipping" if you just add a few extra dollars! :p

      • ;)

  • Says $66 on centrecom site for them

  • Cool price on decent speakers. Do nothing more than the basics though. Needing a set with digital input atm, though I know that's well out of this price range :P

  • EDIT: idk why this double posted sorry.

    Damn, its in VIC?
Means I cannot pricematch here in QLD.

      It's $60 at MSY
So get OW to PM MSY, turns out to be $57 that's only $0.95 than PM'ing this "deal"

    • Office works actually match any Aus website, so you can get them to price match centrecom if you wanted.

      • But they include the cost of delivery if you match a website with no shopfront nearby. (which i still reckon is against it's advertise PM policy)

  • It does MENTION the Month OCTOBER in the front of the Catalogue >> First Page

Agree with other comments about it being $60 at MSY and then going over to Officeworks to get them to beat it by 5% (which is what I did, and it came out to just over $67)… I bought these speakers about 6 months ago and they are fantastic so no complaints here… so IMHO not a bargain… but no need for a neg! :)

Pretty much the same price as quoted on Staticice at a number of other retailers, not really a bargain. Also I'd advise people to avoid centrecom based on my past experience with the company (also see the previous thread re: their false advertising).

    • I have had no problems ordering from them on numerous occasions.

  • Can i connect these to a plasma TV? If so, how?

    • headphone port?

    • there's a converter, but that means u get fake 5.1 @_@

  • so what cable will i need to do that?

  • RCA cables. Does your plasma have RCA output for sound?

    • It's a Samsung 42" HD plasma TV. I'll have to go home and check it out when I get back from work.

      • Yea, not sure which model it is exactly. But this site, http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/detail/productPreviewRead… shows that there is only Digital Audio (Optical).

Not sure if there is a cable to convert optical to RCA. Others here may know?

But IMO if you've got a 42", you would want better speakers than these.

        • Agreed, I think these speakers were designed with computers being the main focus.

    sorry . its from centrecom.

    • thats not a valid reason for neg vote.

  • Alright. The speakers usually range from $500 onwards. I was thinking of a cheaper solution. Looks like it won't work out :(

  • These speakers are awesome, I think they even outpace my THX 2.1 Logitech ones I got. They are so crisp and such a strong bass at the same time. Don't doubt it, just buy these if you want good sound.
