        • @redwood: they listed two separate Westfield locations. If they count as one, it would say that in T&C as they did for two of the stores.

      • got $20 back only from one of the purchase.

    • sorry to hear that. it leaves me the rest one option to David Jones.

  • +2

Bought the coles MYER GC for $400 split over 8 cards. Very helpful agent, he knew the drill. Bought from L5.
Got all 8 emails. scored $160.

    • Sydney?

    • you da man!!!!

    • Did you catch their name? Is there any particular counter?

    • I did similarly. The cashier (facing to the corridor) kindly remind me if I buy myer card, will get extra 10%. but still chose coles myer instead.

    • You have 8 different Amex cards??

  • anyone tried to purchase GC at Myer Melbourne?

  • Yes, purchased 2 giftcards of 100 each & split the payment on 4 cards…even myer one points too

    • Really? You're not supposed to be able to earn MyerOne points when buying gift cards (but you can earn MyerOne points when paying with a gift card)

    • +2

While Myer one card does scan, you won't see the points coming through

    • +2

No MyerOne points, they wont post on to your account. Dont bother wasting time with scanning the card

      • I'm guessing you've tried this?

        • Yep

  • Can we use the same card 3 times at myer for this offer ??

    • +1

      No

  • The bonus Myer gift card offer has been extended to 3 September!

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/326197

So you can stack it with the amex deal if you buy $100 of myer gift cards (not coles myer).

    • I thought the bonus $10 is a online offer only. Bought $200 in gift card this morning but never offered this in Sydney city

      • No its online and in store - this is clearly stated on Myer's website on the front page.

Did you buy Myer gift cards?

        • I just purchased myer gift cards with the bonus $10 offer and stacked with amex offer.

        • you are right.. I purchased wrong gift card

    • Could you technically buy the Myer giftcard to get the $10 then rebuy a Coles Myer giftcard using the Myer giftcard?

      • I think it depends on the employee tbh, I've gotten away with it before but some won't do it

  • +3

Anyone looking for Coles Group and Myer Gift Cards in Myer Sydney: use the rocket lift and head directly up to level 6 to buy them (seems that the $10 gift card bonus is still available too as the sales assistant was spruiking it but I didn't take her up on her offer)

    • +3

Just bought a $100 myer card with the bonus $10 card. It runs until Sunday 3rd Sep. Paid with 2 cards….

  • +1

Got e-mails for my three spends from Body Shop, Myer and DJs. Not sure whether I'd get the DJs one as with a DJs AMEX, they CAN see what you buy

    • I wonder if it is worth taking the risk with buying DJ Gift Cards with DJ Amex?

      • +1

I took the risk as I'll use it eventually. Will update if I get the $20 credit

        • Do staff get discounts on general item? Just wondering for a "friend".

        • @Turd: Yes, staff get discounts on goods sold at DJs but it's against policy to buy items using staff discount for friends

        • @kerfuffle: I'll meet you out the back ok? After work with the goods.

        • @Turd: Sorry, no can do.

        • +4

@kerfuffle: damm rejected. NO SYDNEY HOUSE PROPERTY!!

        • @Turd:

Wait you want to buy Sydney property using DJs staff discount? Lol!

        • @nightelves: I mean DJs sells avocados right?

        • @alcheron: They do actually, in their basement food department.

    • +1

Looking forward to your update with regards to DJ AMEX !!

    • +1

I can confirm that I received the credit this morning for the DJ card after buying DJ gift card on Thursday. Hopefully they don't take it back!

      • Also got the credit.

Bring on Mid Season Sale time!

  • Anyone know if both David Jones stores in Melbourne will be participating this year?

    • +1

Yes but they both go under Bourke St Mall so you'd only be able to use the offer in either the women's store or the men's store.

      • +1

Dammit thought they were separate. Thanks.

        • Only the Sydney CBD stores are separated

  • +2

FYI all - if you have bought Westfield gift card later this morning or afternoon, you might not be able to use it straight away due to backlog of orders and they need to process it manually. I have been advised that it will be resolved within 24 hours and you can use them. If you need to make an urgent purchase, the concierge desk can ring gift card support and can them to process manually.

    • ya not surprised

    • Where'd you buy the westfield gift cards from in Melbourne?

      • Nowhere. Westfield is a Sydney-only participant (I think the Melbourne equivalent is Emporium but dunno if they'd be participating)

  • Buying iTunes/Google Play Card from Myer will yield 40% discount. Useful when you pay Netflix using iTunes.

    • +5

Better off buying Coles Myer GC first, and then stack with say eternal 15% off at Officeworks and pay with your Coles Myer GC (0.6 * 0.85), or wait for deal like this week's $50 Coles prepaid Mastercard which earns you 2000 flybuy points(effectively 5% discount given the $5 activation fee) , then use that prepaid Mastercard to buy itune GC at Officeworks (0.6 * 0.95*0.85)

      • +1

They should give you the itunes giftcard with that much complexity involved.

        • +1

This is Ozbargain after all, and I can assure you this is a standard formula for many people here :D

        • @feihong:

Unfortunately those 3 stores are not in close proximity with one another for me. So even though it looks like savings I'm still losing out on petrol and time. Kudos for the effort.

        • @nightelves: if you are based in Melbourne, they actually are adjacent to each other.. Officeworks is in QV and Coles is in Melbourne Central

        • @feihong:

You're forgetting that parking cost money and outside metered hours you still spend an average of 15 mins just to find a spot. Not to mention that not everyone has the luxury to live within the CBD.

        • @nightelves: Parking at QV isn't too bad if you plan to stay in CBD for a while anyway ($19 for the whole day if you purchase something at Woolies or Big W). Of course, it also depends on how many AMEXs you have to make your time and effort worthwhile. You can also park at somewhere just outside of the CBD and take advantage of the free tram, or just train in :D

      • Why not buy Myer giftcard get(10% bonus) and price match office works' price @ Myer, isn't easier and cheaper?

        • Yes, that's a good idea in theory, except you may run into problem buying gift card with another gift card at Myer (unlike at Coles or Officeworks where you are less likely to encounter such issue).

        • @feihong: You may right, I thought itunes cards should be treated as a recharge voucher. I never think they were giftcards in my mind

    • i sign up new email account every month to watch Netflix and Spotify.

      • Do you use prepaid CCs with some balance, and make sure you use it up before renewal to ensure you don't get charged?

And with Spotify, do you just share your playlist from your previous account?

        • I use my amex card, but you can cancel the subscription once you register. (but prepaid card is a good idea. I will consider that)

Spotify, i just donwload it again every month. …….

        • @CDG:

you can cancel the subscription once you register

Oh really? Is this Netflix or Spotify you're referring to?

i just donwload it again every month

But don't you then lose all your saved music and have to find it all again manually?

        • Both Spotify and Netflix

I dont mind doing it again, it's free and i also can renew my music every month…!!

  • +1

FML flying to Adelaide just before the event in Melbourne -_- Guess my wallet will be happy but I'm not due to missing out on the actual event!!

  • I have 6 AMEX (including partner's) cards and want to buy some stuffs from Witchery. Will they split the transaction to 6 x $50?

    • Depends on the sales assistant. Witchery in DJs you can. No idea about standalone Witchery atores. You'll have to research for us

      • Is that the section where you work? :D

      • I didnt end up spending at witchery but was successful to split into 5-6 x $50 transactions at Camper and Yellow Earth (Emporium Melb).

    • can you try buy 6* $50 gift cards in DJ and then pay by gift cards?

      • +1

yes, just got at a quite time

  • Do westfield gift cards come in $50 as well as $100? I have 3 amex cards so I want to buy $150 worth of gift cards for $90 after cashback

    • They come in any amount you ask for, from $5 to $995

    • No splitting allowed, unless the staff is super good and bored

      • Previous commenters say you can only use max two cards in one transaction for a Westfield Gift Card

      • Yeah couldnt you just buy a $100 card in one transaction split that between 2 cards then buy another $50 card in another transaction?

        • Isn't there a fee for buying Westfield GC?

  • Hi guys, can we buy online?

    • No. Point of this event is to promote shopping in store in the city

      • Thanks

    • +1

      You're associated. You tell us.

      • +3

No, I am not. I was a mistake.

        • +4

          Sorry to hear that.

        • Sad story

        • +4

Don't think it's that serious to call yourself a mistake…

  • not sure should i fly to sydney for a day trip to get another Coles Myer and Westfield..

    • depends how much your time/weekend is worth

      • & the flights

        • +1

And how many Amex cards she has…

        • @JohnHowardsEyebrows: I think you can have maybe ~28 or so. At least min 20 for 4 AMEX AMEX, 2 normal 2 charge.

        • Correct. But think of the annual fee……..

  • Does this work for gift card purchase in Myer & DJ?

    • It works for myer gift card. I also want to know about DJ.

  • Anyone buy DJ GCs receive $20 cash back email?

    • Yes. Whether I get the credit is another question as I used my DJs AMEX.
