These are a great unit - got my daughter one for high school and it is fantastic

  • +1

Is this better than the Acer spin 5 deal?

    • +2

The Acer spin 5 has better specs and a bigger screen but seems to be more bulky than the yoga

      • +1

I am awaiting delivery of the acer, hopefully its good. Yes, the yoga looks fancier and of a higher build quality

    • Got a link to that, I can only find one for $1800

  • Do or Do not There is no try, get a Yoga - they are really good.

  • +1

Managed to get one. Thanks OP

I read the keyboard is really bad and hard to get used to…can someone who owns this please share your experience?

    • +4

Tried the Yoga 900 and the keyboard was "okay".
Not the worst I've used, but certainly not as great as a desktop keyboard, or even as good as say the chunkier ThinkPads or the MacBooks.
Now moving to the touchpad, here I would say its even worse quality. Sometimes it doesn't register your input then BAM it suddenly scrolls too far.
You get adapted to it, and start to treat it like a 9 year old by slowly and clearly telling it what you want.
Though for a >$1.5k machine, this is simply bad.

So if the 900S has the same keyboard and touchpad, just keep that in mind.

I did try the later model, the Yoga 910.
It has the same crappy touchpad, but this time they've solved the sensitivity. Now, it doesn't require being babied to, it behaves as you expect it to.
However, the texture is not the best. So now I would say its good, not great.
If the 900S got that newer touchpad, you should be okay.

And now let's go back to the keyboard.
The Yoga 910 mostly has the same keyboard as the Yoga 900. However there is now a much more defined "click" when you type.
I would say its now a good keyboard, but certainly not as good as the MacBooks or desktop qwerty's.
So if the 900S has the newer keyboard, you should be good.

Just saw the hands-on for the Yoga 920, it seems to keep the same good keyboard as the Yoga 910… but doesn't upgrade to the great keyboard on the ThinkPad laptops.

      • Thank you! I just bought it! Lets hope its good. Upgrade from my bulky Dell Inspiron 15!!!

  • Great deal!

  • Thanks OP. I needed a new laptop. Got one.

How good would this be at running photoshop or lightroom?

  • Just got one, thanks OP!

  • Seems similar to Toshiba radius minus 4K screen and faster processor (screen size, form factor, weight, ssd and ram). I've been hanging out for a similar deal to this for around the same price (I would pay an extra hundred for a 13.3" screen). Anyone seen something similar to this deal posted last year? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/240362

    • Got one in June this year. It's the signature edition radius 12 from the microsoft eBay store, 4k screen, 512gb storage, 8 gig ram my daily machine love it, and only paid $702 after cashrewards and 15% coupon :-) Keep an eye out, they normally stock one or two time to time..

    • Doesn't have the 4K screen but this looks a good deal with 13.3" and 512Gb: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/325458

  • Has anyone with a 2-in-1 or ultrabook ever gotten the battery life claimed by the manufacturer? Because I never have. And I have brightness at 50% or less. Don't even play any games on it. Windows just drains battery even while you're doing nothing.

Only device I can believe the battery life claims on is my iPad.

  • Why is it 6th gen when they are up to 7th gen

    • Are there 7th gen M processors, plus that may be why it's only $799

      • Yes, they are now called Y processors. i5 7Yxx, i7 7Yxx.

  • Can someone shed some light on warranty?
    "Warranty:One year Depot or Carry-in"

  • Missed again :(((((((((((

  • Actually decent unit

  • +1

this is actually back in stock but $100 more than previously.

    • keen to buy this but annoyed is an extra $100 than 2 days ago

      • Yeah the pricing department for Lenovo is pretty useless, I think it's worth waiting for the next sale to catch them off guard again, or wait for it to drop during this sale if possible.

        • has anyone had any luck and getting them to price match ebay sale price (the cheaper one). might be worthwhile as then they avoid ebay fees

  • just gone up to $1249, what is going on with their pricing?

  • +1

….no….. missed it again, that's great I have saved $799.20

  • Got mine yesterday. Yea the damn shift key!!! Need to get used to it. Apart from that, I like it.

Can anyone recommend a good sleave for this please….
