    For anyone wondering:

Dick Smith is an authorised distributor of this product. We guarantee that this product is authorised Australian stock and comes with a manufacturer warranty in addition to the Dick Smith warranty.

"and comes with a manufacturer warranty in addition to the Dick"

The text continued on the next line at an inappropriate place….

The text continued on the next line at an inappropriate moment….

I believe that only at certain screen resolution. Mine shows it differently.

      • wah????

only reason I clicked this RRP deal was for the complimentary Dick :(

    • +2

Shouldn't you be posting on ChoiceCheapies instead of OzBargain?

      • +9

nah… tired of seeing all the deals on velcro gloves

  • Inb4 the not a deal comments!

  • +1

Before the haters flame you OP, thanks for the heads up! I bought a second one, now I have one to play and one for the collection. Cheers!

Still cannot understand why these are in such extreme demand. Go on, down vote.

    • +2

It the limited supply that Nintendo makes available, which causes a high demand for the product. Another reason would be the nostalgia.

    • +1

It's because when they did the NES last year they made nowhere near enough units.
They aren't really in "extreme demand", they were in "short supply"

Nintendo has seen the error of it's ways and dramatically increased production for the SNES, and also re-releasing the NES.

This is not a bargain, nor should they be hard to find in stores.

      Not a worthy Ozbargain post.

    • Nostalgia sells. This was a big part of the childhood of people who are now in their late 20s to early 30s. It doubles as a practical way to replay games from the SNES era (proper controllers, no messing around with emulators) and something cool to put in your lounge room cabinet.

  • +2

Do people actually enjoy playing these old games on huge 60" screens? When the SNES was first released in 1991 the average TV size was 23". That's what it was designed to be played on. On a modern big screen TV, each pixel in the game must be about 1 cm big.

    • +3

I play SNES games on a 130 inch screen. it's the gameplay.

    • If this is like the Mini NES, then you have the option to play with a CRT Filter/Pixel Perfect mode.

    • -4

      huge

      60"

      I don't understand

      • I meant huge relative to the size of TVs in the early 90s. And yes I realise there were 60" RPTVs at the time, but they cost a fortune.

    • Pretty sure they implement a scaler in there with the HDMI connection so the games don't look shite.

      • yeah it looks way nicer than my original n64 via av cables

  • +1

This one is going straight to the Trading Post.

SNES for $400? Tell him he's dreamin'

    • Dale Kogan
    • +3

      How's the serenity?

  • Considering this route means you're already missing the day 1 allocation, I'd imagine it would be better looking out for more stock from JB/EB whom I believe offer cheaper shipping.

    • +2

Yes but, inb4 North Korean nukes.

      • But if the Nintendo factories are in China, then its doubtful they are in danger, Japan might get hit but not China. Im guessing they are in thailand or vietnam and they should be safe.

        • +1

The Mini NES was Made in China, so I'm assuming the Mini SNES will also be made in China.

    • Most if not all Day 1 allocation are already out of stock from JB/EB. The only possible way for Day 1 Stock is Preordering from Target and/or rocking up to Target/Big W on Saturday (30th September 2017) morning.

  • +3

I think everyone looking for a SNES has already pre-ordered 2, and Nintendo played its hand well by selling out of the NES last year and now saturating the market with 4x the amount of product due to it knowing that people will be buying multiples to try and make easy $$$ for Christmas, but it looks like we were the ones holding the bag as there is limitless stock this time around…

  • +1

seriously? another RRP deal? And this one includes postage!

    • Dealing with Kogan is an effort in frustration due to bad customer service and crappy delivery so if you miss your parcel your waiting days instead of using something easier for the receiver like Aus Post.

    • +3

Oh be quiet. Mods are fine with it, so stop your whining.

      • Haha the mods want one too!

  • +1

    Thanks OP. Bought one!

I saw this page linked to someone on a Facebook BSS page trying to sell for $200. Long live the OzBargain spirit.

  • Gone. RIP.

  • I got my mum to play on the mini nes today when she came up to visit…she sucked haha…just like old times :)

    • +1

      There's a strangely off-putting dirty joke in there somewhere…

      • +1

        Oedipus is that you?

  • +1

I managed to get one earlier today. Thanks OP. It's for my daughter (7 yrs), I'm hoping she will get into video games more….She thinks all the PS3 games she tries are too hard. Call Of Duty is not that hard I told her.

    • +1

      IDK about that one… lol
