I like this but its annoyed of min 15k credit. Thats alot when you already have few credit cards :(

  • +1

For those concerned about the lack of AMEX card, this is still a good deal without it. ANZ promotions like these have primarily been good for the bonus points.

    • +3

Yeap sign up for the card, get the bonus points, cancel the card, wait for 12 months and then rinse and repeat.

      • +2

how does that affect your credit rating?

        • +3

I think the impact is overstated. I've been doing it for about 4 years and my credit rating consistently hovers in the middle range of "good"

          @illumination: curious what's your score:

          https://www.getcreditscore.com.au/

          I'm currently sitting under 550. :(

        • -1

Credit scores recover each year if you didn't notice.

        • @starburstyellow:

I got approval for 3 credit cards recently with a score of less than 550 if that helps.

          -Anz Black
          -Coles Mastercard

        • @nightelves: thanks. Might apply the virgin cc.

        • @nightelves: yes I understand that. Was just curious to know what his score is.

        • I went down from 695 to 660 after getting the recent AMEX promotion. I'd imagine a similar effect for other credit cards

  • does this work if you have the ff black card with the Qantas points?

    • This is the FF Black card with Qantas points from ANZ.

  • May I be annoying and ask for a rough idea of the value of 75k FF points?

    • +1

Depends on what you primarily redeem your points for. Most people will get between $600 to $750 worth of value and those who push hard can get up to $2250.

    • -2

I'm surprise a person with that many post you haven't worked out the value of FF points.

      • Cause I don't really comment on those posts?

  • Are you eligible if you have the travel adventures reward card? Its velocity not qff.

I asked anz this over the phone yesterday and they said yes.. Go nuts!

      • Thanks mate!

    • +1

Yes, you are, it states in the fine print.

  • Do I need to wait 12 months after closing the older ANZ FF black card before getting this? I would assume so but could not see anything in the T&C's.

Had this card last year and it has been more than 12 months since I closed it. I applied again today and been declined. Nothing has changed except my financial position is probably better than it was when I applied previously and when I called up to discuss why it was declined they said it was because I had a lack of connections with ANZ???? (ie the guy was saying i didn't have any accounts with them savings or loans and that was the reason I got knocked back.) He also goes on in saying that their approval policy has changed and now its not so easy to get this card since it is "black" level. Has anyone else experienced this rubbish??

    • +2

No Mate. But thanks for the heads up.
If that’s the case, I might well close all accounts with ANZ (CC, Savings and HL). They take customers for granted. I say, that comment from ANZ is kinda racist in financial terms

    • can't believe this reason! I would say it is good chance to connect new account, like their $100 gift card promotion

Never signed up for anz before but if you do these qantas ff black card promotions does it typically make you inelligible for other promo point bonuses say with their anz rewards which is also posted up here?

ANZ Rewards Black Card 75,000 Points and $0 Annual Fee

Or do banks typically apply the promo bonus points if you havent owned that specific line of credit cards within the bank in the last 12 months?

  • At what point does the 75 bonus status credits apply? I won't need it this membership year, but I may need it next membership year (my year ends March 30).
