After almost two weeks waiting, all orders were cancelled due to "out of stock" while the phone is still for sale at their website at a higher price $279.
One of the worst cancellation of orders in Ozbargain history.
    Still awaiting my Paypal refund.

agree 100% stay away from this online store !!!
my experience is not good at all

    • +7

Eww, that totally looks like they wanted to cover some immediate expenses needing to be paid and decided to put a hot-ticket item up for pennies on the dollar and then just let the refund process slowly drain out.

From what I've read, I would stay far and clear.

Hope your refund goes fine mate.

EDIT -> God, who's idea was it to ever deal with these guys in the first place? They are a nightmare on the surface and would easily be listed as a rogue shop on whirlpool and the likes..

Their 'contact us' section is a single form submit going to the exact same, single email provided on the website. They want to control their contactability strongly, I could have thrown that website up in an afternoon. Even their business details are dodgey.

tightarse posted a lot of their deals in the early stages which which gave them a big push.

I can't understand why people are parting with hundreds and hundreds of dollars with this overseas business which has no standing track record.

They are still lying about their iPhones which they claim come with Apple worldwide warranty.

They call their ebay store shopmonk_australia and mention Shopmonk Australia on their website even though they have no real presence here. The whole thing is just dodgy.

No response from the rep on here or via email is not good to hear

      …and macbookies

    • +3

Nobody cares or needs to know about your view on apple phones, don't know what you were trying to add there.. Other than you own a macbook..

        • +2

This is pretty much the opposite of what iPhone SE's are being brought for…

        • +1

@dfaktz: Where are they bringing them?

      • He's trying to say there rubbish

  • +1

They kept my money for over 2 weeks then they cancel my order because it's out of stock!
I am agree that we should stop this type of online store to be succeeded

    sus

  • Thanks for your response have asked Moderators to delete this pist.

  • My experience with Shopmonk has been pretty good.

Same.. but then I bought an iphone from them which wasn’t technically “on sale” (still 300 dollars cheaper then from Apple). Took them about a week to ship & dhl delivered it very quickly. The 64gb model I wanted was out of stock so they bumped it up to 128gb for free..

Would happily purchase from them again but would probably avoid it during these promotion / sales..

  • Placed order on the website 2 weeks ago, they cancelled the order due to “out of stock”, but then sent another email to me “ That’s a great choice” with $79 more for the same item.

Looking at the Negative response, we should ask the Moderators to ban their deals on OzB.

The site has been highly promoted here in the last month or so and had sone fantastic deals going on
    ( including Bose Qc35 for 250$).

Seems like they cant cope with the inflow but this behaviour is unacceptable….

  • Sad but have to agree that their communication is a nightmare. Unless they have a really price like those QC35 for $250, otherwise I would stay away.

  • Terrible customer service.

  • I ordered a mi5 phone for a bargain 263aud, got my phone after 4 days via DHL. Who beats that?

    • OnePlus. Ordered my 5 on Friday (lunch time). Arrived Sunday.

      • You get deliveries on Sunday??

        • Yes. Typically they'll do overtime, at least in my area. Mondays are to busy otherwise.

Less then 48 hours from ordering from Hong Kong to in my hand in Brisbane.

        • @krouton24: That's pretty quick from HK.

    $399 from Harvey Norman (Prepaid).

Very easy to unlock and free.

    • Got that too yesterday. Local warranty and easy unlock. In fact typing on it whilst posting this message.

      Price beat with Officeworks
      https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/telstra-ip…

I did this a few months ago and got it for a little under $380. Also claimed GST back through TRS, making it $345 total.

      • Officeworks matched Shopmonk? Really?

        • Nah they mean that OW beat HN and they got it for $379.05 :)

        • @doweyy: but ow don’t price beat clearance item…

        • @cloudie9:

Oh damn, they must’ve added that clearance label in during the last week or so because it hadn’t been there before that.. might be worth a try in store anyway.

        • @doweyy:
I price matched the HN deal with Officeworks last week, and the clearance label was there. Domayne had it for $399 as well.

    • unlock for free ? testra site says its $80 - https://www.telstra.com.au/support/category/mobiles-tablets/…

      • They’ll unlock for free if you use the online chat and tell them you’re going overseas. I did it last week, and there’s plenty of comments on previous posts reporting the same thing.

I'v had a bad experience with this seller.
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/331903
And it seems it's not isolated.
    I'm still waiting for feedback/refund.

  • I'm so glad we purchased our iPhones through dicksmith now
