Hack: 7/11 Free Super Slurpee with Each Large Slurpee

560

Similar to the Cadbury chocolate bar hack => http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/32316

7/11 has another "Rip & Win" promotion going on with the top prize being an iPad, as well as small consolation prizes like Super Slurpees and other things.

Conveniently, the sticker is somewhat see-through. You could easily see "Free Super Slurpee" on the cup that I (well, the boyfriend) picked up today in about two seconds.

So grab a few LARGE cups and have a look for "Free Super Slurpee", and if you win an iPad, well.. I'll take it. Kidding. :P

Oh, and unlike the Cadbury, you won't be able to continuosuly redeem free slurpees because the stickers are on the large cups and the winning slurpees are the super sized ones. Smart.

probably went here and saw the Cadbury promotion ;)

      • They might as well have invested in some thicker paper. I reckon they should print it in that ink that only goes dark when you rub it. XD

        • No way make it one of the ones that reveal when cold i.e. full of slurpee after ripping the paper off..
Although this would make it harder for the store assistant to check =(

1 iPad to win per day in the whole australia?? wow that's tough! haha

    • they did just give out free slurpees on Sunday to anyone who wanted one. Cut them someeee slack? :p

  • +7

Just what the people need after bagging all those free cadbury bars - something to wash them down with! :)

I reckon the night staff probably just spend their entire shift going through the cups looking for the iPad. Maybe I should get a job at 7/11. Hm.

I can't wait to see the employee's face after I finish looking intensely at each individual cup, not find any ipads, and then buy what looks to be an extremely specific cup for my slurpee

You won't find any "you've won an iPad" stickers on the cup itself - that comes from the receipt when you pay for the large Slurpee. From the T&C's:

      2. Simply present your 22oz SLURPEE to the cashier who on payment will provide you with a promotional receipt. Each promotional receipt will reveal one of the following messages:
      - Congratulations you have won an iPad (62 on offer, 1 to be won every day during the promotional period)
      - Second chance draw

You may also win other prizes (not just Super Slurpees) from the stickers you peel off the cups:

      3. The inside of the peel off section of your ‘Rip N Win’ label will reveal one of the following messages:
      - Congratulations you have won a FREE Super Slurpee (58,380 on offer^)
      - Congratulations you have won a FREE Chupa Chup (29,167 on offer^)
      - Congratulations you have won a FREE pack of Lifesavers (17,500 on offer^)
      - Congratulations you have won a FREE 60g Kit Kat Chunky (11,667 on offer^)
      - Slurp Again

        Kit Kat it is then!

      • If the system/receipt could "randomly" generate an iPad winner they should have had it also generate the free slurpee winners. Also I wonder if staff would just be tempted to quietly keep a winning iPad receipt.

How much does a large slurpee cost?

        • +1

$2.80 I think. I remember when they used to be $2 and a long larger.. Or maybe that was because I was smaller.

        • Haha I remember when it was $1.45
          God, I'm feeling old.

        • yeah, I bought one on the weekend and they never gave me a receipt - didn't realise until after I'd driven away.

I won the iPad!!!! Oh wait, its a slurpee… damn it…

    Let the RIP OFF begin!!

  • Alcoholic super sized slurpies here I come!

    Great find!

  • Haha yep - works! Went there tonight and could not believe my eyes when you could clearly read it through the label!

  • Got one about 15 minutes ago. This is brilliant.

Maybe they are doing this on purpose.

You are paying a few dollars for coloured ice with some sugar in it when you wouldn't have bought one in the first place, yet you are so happy you "won" some more coloured ice with sugar in it.

    • i would probably take a mate and split it with him ;)

To be honest, isn't that what happens when things are posted on OzBargain? Some of us buy things that we wouldn't normally buy, but once a marked item gets posted, we buy it for the sake of being frugal. We think of it as saving money but in reality, we are spending extra money and saving a portion from there.

      • +1

I almost always wanted to buy the bargains that come up here for that same reason. Till i just realised, i never wanted it before. Why would i want it now? Because its cheaper? lol.

I love the community, but ronnknee has a point.

        Anyway,…..Keep those bargains coming!

      • What better way to spend a work day than to buy something you dont need with money you dont have!

        • +1

And don't forget that if you do this during a work day, you're earning money you don't deserve because you're surfing OzBargain instead of being productive. ;)

Is it just me, I found it pretty hard to see. I wasn't sure what I was looking for in the label.

Eventually found out I had to look for the word "Free" instead of "Slurp". Damn it. haha.

I got a free one first but the counter chick didn't know what size to give me so she said get the same size. I was like I'm pretty sure it's the Super one and she's like I don't think so.

So I tried for another free one again and I forgot what I was looking for and found one with "Slurp" and I didn't win again :(.

    • son i am disappoint

      • I'm sorry :( Please forgive me !!!!!!!

    • Haha, at least you got one. Though you should have got a super one since it does say "Free Super Slurpee".

I think the printing on some stickers are more misaligned with the printing on the front so some are easier to read than others.

Don't bother with the Lisarow 7/11. The guy there has taken all the large cups down and placed them behind the counter. Obviously aware of the exploit.

    +1 none the less.

    • The same thing happened at my local store. However, the guy behind the counter was still happy for me to look through the cups :P

  • Sweet post.. hehe. I couldn't tell which cup had free super slurpee written on it so I ended up peeling one of the labels on the cup just to use it to compare it to the other cups. I then figured out where a certain letter was appearing and when one cup didn't match up I investigated further and saw the capital EE's in FREE super slurpee. If that helps anyone I don't know but good luck!

  • Got the super slurpee and a kit kat chunky with my free appletiser ;) nice find op.

The key is as the user above mentioned if you look at the side of the label you will notice "free" if you cant make anything out then its slurp again (nothing)

Once you see free its easy to work out if its a free kit kat or super slupee etc

  • I was going through the cups at a local 7-Eleven. Yea, they're actually pretty hard to find to be honest. The only ones with "FREE" seemed to be Life Savers. So I peeled it off and me and my friend tried to redeem it (after buying a slurpee) except the guy at the counter was a noob cake. He's like, "mm what's Life Savers? I think it's a second chance draw. Take a Chuppa Chup instead". Bloody idiot. I walked out with my slurpee anyway.

    • First time is the hardest, its too easy after that ;) the guy at my local is cool

  • WOOOOT. FREE CHUPPA CHUP.

Used Iphone 4 camera underneath the sticker so I could see it clearer and I could read the inside label of every one of the cups :).
