OP perhaps amend title to $20,000.

    • +2

      Thanks, Done.

      Everyone wins at least $25.

      1 in 5 will win a $50 card.

Not sure how many $20,000 cards they have. But someone in front of me won it 5 minutes before I got in line.

      • How longs the line? I gather it will be long now

        • +1

A work colleague was down there 10 minutes ago, waited 15 minutes in the line

        • @channy: Is there a limited amount today?

        • @Turd: I just went to check out the line and came back to work. Long line now

        • @channy:

wow, would wait that long in this heat, it's currently 33 degrees!

        • +1

          @HarveySpecter: im in line

        • +4

          @Turd: Turd in the line?

        • @Symbiotic: been and gone lol

        • @Turd: They had boxes of efptos cards

        • @channy: yeah stacks

        • @HarveySpecter: They're handing out water and ice blocks

      • +4

I bet he worked for them. They know which code they are sending.

  • Where do we register and surely this is time limited and with conditions? A bank giving away free money with no strings attached sounds too good to be true.

    • I simply provided the staff, registering people while I lined up, my mobile and email address.

    • They will contact you and try and sell you products and services.

For the paranoid, you are providing personal details.

      These are the strings.

      • +1

And T&C will like say they can on-sell your details to 100 other marketing companies. Hope that $25 is worth 3 years of spam calls, sms, and email? :)

Can you hold a few of the $20,000 ones until I get there. I'm on my way to the airport now…

    • I'll hold some for you

    • I have just applied for my Australian visa. Can you hold some for me please. Will be there in a month or so.

  • What is it exactly that you register for in step 1?

    • They didn't show me any T&Cs

They took my name, mobile number and Email. A secret code is sent to the Mobile. I also go an email from them to 'confirm my email', which I simply ignored.

  • Why do they need my licence details for?

    • +1

possibly so you don't rejoin the queue??
but mobile should have that covered.

      • +5

Don't underestimate the ozbargain mindset. There are plenty free or cheap sim cards knocking about.

        • +1

          Lol tacogate all over again.

    • There is a sign that said you must be 18 years and over and an Australian Citizen. But they don't take your licence details. They check before allowing you to line up

      • How does driver licence proof citizenship? They should ask for passports

        • or birth certificates + photo ID for that matter, since plenty of citizens don't have passports

        • Do Malcom's citizenship test before joining.

      • +1

        The sign said "Australian Resident"

  • The catch probably is you have to spend the gift cards on suncorp products only lol

  • +2

Thanks OP, won $50 eftpos card…The queue is getting longer.

  • +1

    Won 25 card booo

  • +3

    They said only 2x20k prizes.

    1 claimed already.

    They there till 9pm

    • +1

Yeah so dude got it 5 minutes after I showed up….it would be awesome if you won that today

    • Bet there'll only be $25 left by then

  • How long is the line now?

    • +2

I'd say you'll be waiting at least an hour

      • +1

Just visited the divine place and I would say more than an hour..back to work now

  • You need to activate the card… but the referred site looks mega dodgy…

    www.activatecard.com.au

    • Parked domain. I'd say you've been given the wrong link

  • +2

Long Line. But free ice blocks while I wait. Line is past Microsoft store

    • Even longer line now but free ice blocks are still around. i reckon line will take atlest an hour now? How long it took you?

      • +2

Just over an hour to get complete the whole process. Multiple ice blocks consumed.

    • +4

That's the first line a Microsoft store has seen in years!

  • +2

    Success!
Success! Your card has been activated. Your card will be ready to use from 12pm next business day and will expire 14/12/2018.
    Happy Shopping!

    • Darn it.

      Activation Failed
Unfortunately your gift card cannot be activated as you have reached
your daily activation limit. Please try again tomorrow.

      • A Suncorp employee said the Activation site is being hammered and to continue trying until it gets activated.

  • +2

Why can't all banks do this when they open up a new branch?

    • +3

They often give $100 of opening an account.

or $50 per referal - RE: MacQbank's offering back on ozb :) :) I think I got like 4 figures thanks to everyone :)

      • holy hell!

      • like $1000 or $9999?

        • Half way. Like 5000

      • Man, that was amazing. I loved being part of the quasi-exclusive referee group. :)

    • Because how else would they make millions of dollars in profits? By giving money away? Ha!

      • +1

Suncorp share price is down today

  • Step aside OzB Meetups, it's OzB Suncorp lineups where the party's at!

  • So whoz the lucky winner of the 2nd $20,000 gift card?

    • 1st - 5 min after it began
2nd - 5 min before this finishes (Turd mentioned it closes at 9pm)

      Maximum attraction

  • Oh I thought only chance to win. Not actually win $25 as a minimum

  • Well this is a new way to stimulate the economy in time for Christmas. Give me $20k and I promise I'll spend it too!

  • Hows the line?

    • loooooonnnnnnggggggg, very very loooooonnnnnnggggggg

      • +1

free money, that's to be expected.

They would have a queue if they were handing out 5c coins.

        • The mint was handing out 5c coins at the Easter Show. Not much interest.

  • +1

I was just there, queue was over 60m long and about 200ppl.

Probably at least an hour in the queue for $25, maybe $50.

Good for the 15yo Maccas worker who finished their day shift as they would quadruple their funds in an hour.

  • +2

I lined up for just over an 1 hour at 1:30pm. And won the $50.

Didn't claim it yet. Had to go back to work.

  • +1

Thanks for posting OP! I'm in VIC, but it's a great offer for anyone in the area :)

Terms and conditions have the following breakdown of EFTPOS card amounts, if anyone's curious:

    2 x $20,000 to be deposited into a Suncorp Bank transaction account in the winner’s name within 30 days from notification of winning the prize;

    4 x $5,000 to be deposited into a Suncorp Bank transaction account in the winner’s name within 30 days from notification of winning the prize;

500 x $50 Suncorp Bank EFTPOS Prepaid cards which will be awarded to each relevant winner at the time they claim the prize; and

600 x $25 Suncorp Bank EFTPOS Prepaid cards which will be awarded to each relevant winner at the time they claim the prize.

    • only 1106 prizes in total? surely that'd be gone in a flash

      • I was hoping to go in around 8, too late maybe???

        • Per the below, queue closed before 4:30pm.

  • +1

Any update on the Queue I was there at 3 pm and the queue is for 45mins.

  • I have ativated my $50 calling activateacard hotline 1300 079 267
