  • Material Cuprum,

    What is Cuprum ?

    • +1

      Copper.

      • Bought one of these ages ago from eBay for around a buck.
Pretty certain not a bit of copper to be found in it, all plastic apart from the stainless steel mesh.

Worked well for a couple of weeks though, until the the ball joint cracked.

(Since seen these at Bunnings for something like $10. Nice markup on it…)

    • No glasses.

      What is Cuprum ?
Stuff they put on a 74 cent Water Bubbler Swivel Head 360 Degree Rotatable Faucet Attachment

    • Latine non loquuntur?

    • Cuprum definition: → an obsolete name for copper.

So why the hell couldn't they just say Copper, seeing as almost everyone knows what copper is?
Unless of course these have been left over from Ye Olde Days.

      Here you go jv

  • Ordered. Thanks OP.

Ordered one of these a whole back. Not sure if it's exactly the same as this but the threading was not for Australian taps ("faucet" kinda gives it away) and explodes off under any decent pressure.

    Found the old thread:

      thx. refunded

      • +3

        you could always force-it

    • +1

Had exactly the same problem. Not worth the hassle.

    • Bought numerous time from ebay, none fit.

      • +2

The only one that has actually fit for me was one I bought from aldi during their plumbing week campaign a few months back. Hasn't blown off once. I think it was around $5-10.

Any lead in this? A little concerned with others being in the news lately…

    • It's a little plastic cap with a bit of copper and a stainless steel ring how can there be lead?

The lead scare I think was made up by wesfarmers

      • +4

Just ask cheepwun, he knows all the conspiracies behind all the conspiracies.

        • Whatever you do, don't bring up 9/11, he'll go on for hours.

        • @Lorindor:

Jet fuel can't melt steel beams

        • @airal3rt:

          WiFi can.

      • Sure, but the Yb could have made those from a manufacturing company that also produces lead.

        Good health to you all

    • +3

Don't think they can put lead in there at this price.. :)

I think people didn't understand so call "stainless steel", there so many kind of stainless, some so harmful for human.

    • but its on the out side of it on top of plastic…

Plumbing devices sold in Australia have to be approved. This isn't Australian safety approved. It will burn down your house and void your insurance.

    • -1

This is only the filter that you attach to the head of the tap. How can it burn down a house?

  • +1

still waiting for the coloured attachments to arrive from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/346301

i'd actually forgotten i'd ordered the coloured ones until i noticed this deal.

has anyone received their order from the coloured ones yet?

  • Git one to try.
Looks good, but pretty bulky in the video

  • +2

Gotta be careful might have lead in these.

  • Still waiting on mine from the last sale. :(

  • Guys, don't buy this. If Aldi can't get it right at $80, I'm sure your sub-$1 product isn't going to either:

Got one of these a yar ago. We used it for a sink built into the bbq. It is good for a sink with a fixed tap spout have cant move as you can then angle the water in any direction around the sink.

It is still working well and recommend.

  • Put something like this on the kids shower years ago. Got up to see response the next morning. My 13 year old new some words I didn't realise.

  • If this product is not WELS rated it cannot be installed by a registered plumber - buy and install at your own risk

    • Install? It's just plug and play pretty much, so easy to fit, no need to call out a plumber

  • Try getting a plumber to come out to fit that. Not worth his while.
