Any cheap hostels with dorm rooms available once I get there - around $30 a night…. :-)

      HERE and more specifically HERE?

Thanks, it was meant to be a joke……it was not funny :-( I will learn from this mistake

Cheap flights but Maldives is one of the most expensive destinations to visit. Probably better going to Thailand or Indonesia if you're on a budget.

Better go now before the Maldives are completely underwater. Submarines are expensive.

Might make for some interesting snorkeling though!

Might as well add Perth from $507. We too travel mate, don't ignore us ;)

Been to Maldives in 2016. An excellent destination however as Stirlo pointed out, it is a bit expensive. There isn't a lot happening in Male so it is better to look for accommodation in one of the islands

I got one of these super cheap promotional flights with AirAsia to Mauritius two years ago, booked for a year in advance. They cancelled the flight a few months prior to departure.

Good bargain (would otherwise neg), but I've been bitten by the airline before so won't bother this time.

Happened to me too! 1Cover paid the cost of new flights (minus the difference of course) :)
So it's actually a good thing if this happens ;)

      • How much was the insurance?

        • +1

I get an annual multi trip so around $300 pp.
The price went up this year, as they now include up to $5000 for car rental excess, and they just paid out the excess I had to pay for car rental windscreen replacement (chipped). So completely worth it. I'm a big fan as they've now paid out both my claims whereas TID rejected one of mine.

      • I didn’t have 1Cover so just got a refund! Good to know for next time.

    • They only had flights to Mauritius for a few months and then cancelled that destination.

Credit given where credit's due! 👍

I find this promotion sexist as there are plenty of dates for Male but nothing for Female. They need some dates too.

    • I'm not sure if you're trying to make a pun??

      • come on - that's no worse than the typical ozbargain pun

I wouldn't fly with AirAsia even if they paid me $557 to!

    • +2

Not a problem. Being from Radeliade, the cheapest you'll get at this time is $835 with Singapore Airlines.
Hopefully there's power to the Airport on the day of your flight 😜

      Why not?

    Males only? Ayyy

  • Similar prices (a bit cheaper) to Seoul.

Hmmm.. Maldives before its underwater or Seoul before nuclear armageddon…. Decisions decisions!
