They asked for the physical voucher and I said I left it at home. The manager said you would have to bring it in to redeem it. LOL. I ain't paying $18 for a medium pizza!

No, they don't make the pizza until you actually show up with the voucher. I got knocked back from Melbourne CBD Crust an hour ago.

Doubt it works there the Manager is like an ozbargain pro. I tried to use a buy one get the cheaper one free, however the guy said the cheaper one free had to be a cheese only pizza.

Just ordered from Cronulla store and received a call straight away saying that the store has opted out from the deal.
Don't think I'll take up this offer. Crust is a franchise owned by Retail Food Group whose business model is to screw over franchisees. Fairfax media have done a big expose on it in December. Taking advantage of a system glitch is simply pushing an already financially stressed franchisees faster into bankruptcy.
Another great reason to short RFG.

Would the head company pay the franchisees? Given it's more of a head company fault?
I'd be interested to know too. Domino's reimbursed all their franchisees for the free pizzas given out using a Microsoft code a while back. If RFG, the franchisor is footing the bill for this and not the franchisee, I'd be a lot more comfortable taking up the offer.

I guess RFG should prepare themselves for more bad press then. They'd have be pretty cruel to make franchisees pay for their stuff up, on top of the various ways they put the screw on them already.
Ouch. RFG sound like total schmucks. The bad press they get is completely deserved, by the looks of it.
The business model appears to be get the franchisee purchase a franchise for hundreds of thousands of dollars, force them to buy overpriced supplies and pay onerous fees, drive them into bankruptcy, repurchase the franchise for cents on the dollar then rinse and repeat for the next sucka.
Given their ethics I wouldn't feel confident that franchisees would be reimbursed.
Go and look on seek and you'll find hundreds of RFG franchises for sale. Ugly. Not judging anyone here.

Maybe the stores do get reimbursed and the ones that won't make it until they see the voucher are just pocketing the money.
I knew a frinchisee in Melb who was making an absolute killing 3 years ago. Maybe things have changed since, but be careful about what you read in the media. Often a couple of disgruntled people make a big fuss even though they may be to blame for their own problems!
