    Error. Ummm…

OZ Bargains guideline allow me to post deals only with top rated sellers.

    Let's see you b removed

    • This has been asked numerous times. Discussed here, Scotty's response here, My response and investigation here. Please report this listing to eBay, Microsoft and let us know the response.

        • If you read my whole comment: We've reported to Microsoft, they don't care. eBay don't care. We can't prove they keys are "illegal" and it is legal in some places in the world such as Germany to sell software keys (specific caselaw/law).

$14.95? Lemme just go unload my 100 activation keys for $1. No difference between them.

    • +2

      $$ arbitrage opportunity?

  • +7

not sure how you arrive at this conclusion. I have 3 home PCs activated using ebay keys over the last 6 months. no issues

    • +1

      Works, but not genuine.
      Did they steal it?

    • +5

Cheaper options out there if you don't care where the key came from

      • +1

If you don't want it then don't have it, however you have said your part and unless you have proof, you need to let buyers make their own decisions.

        • +2

          7x PC's activated for less than $10

          Buyers beware

    • Hmm, yeah. They may work and after a year or 2 they just stop working. Now, don't get me wrong, I know there are keys that were bought several Years ago and they still work but then there are keys that were simply blocked and they couldn't request refund and in case of ebay couldn't leave negative feedback since the sale was over a year ago. If I was going to buy I would rather go on reddit and buy from a reputable seller where you know they've been in business for a long time and most importantly people can leave feedback long after they bought it so others can judge whether to buy or not based on the feedback. Plus in case a key stops working, a reputable seller will give another.

On the other side just because you don't have issues means zilch to me. Normally they shouldn't be sold as if they were, then why would anyone pay more than a few bucks for it and just get on with it.

Not saying I will as I don't need it but if I were to buy a key from you, what guarantees can you give me that if it stops working in let's say 2 years, I can come back and request refund/replacement?

Pros: It will work, but for how long… you will find out if you buy it.

Cons: There is no guarantee it won't be blocked, then you have to buy another one.
Ethical, as you know they are not legit legit keys. They are volume keys, not sold for private use on 1 PC for peanuts.

      • Pros: Even if it stops working and you buy say a key for $5 or $15 you can still buy another 4 - 5 + keys and your still saving money as opposed to buying it full price from microsoft :)

Cons : hardly a con if the price is $5 or $15 w/e deal you find your saving massive amount of as opposed to retail price

Ethical : Can you provide evidence to back your claim ? if they are not legit keys ebay would take the deal down they refuse to therefore they aren't breaching any rules set out by ebay

        • "Pros: Even if it stops working and you buy say a key for $5 or $15 you can still buy another 4 - 5 + keys and your still saving money as opposed to buying it full price from microsoft :)'

In other words, which is what I said, you have to buy another one.

"Cons : hardly a con if the price is $5 or $15 w/e deal you find your saving massive amount of as opposed to retail price"

If Microsoft intended to sell them like that, every shop under the sky would be selling them not for 100 plus dollars but maybe $14.95. Roughly like buying retail and wholesale.

"Ethical : Can you provide evidence to back your claim ? if they are not legit keys ebay would take the deal down they refuse to therefore they aren't breaching any rules set out by ebay"

Plenty of discussion in the past posts, so read it. They are legit keys, as in they are meant to be registered with a computer, but it is not what but how. You can go to other side of the street legit, but cross it when there is a red light on suddenly makes it not legit.

No issues does not equal legitimate

  • Aren’t at least some of the cheap licences resales from recycled or whatever you want to call them,PCs? Bought licence months ago and activated without issue. Surely recycling the licence is/should be legitimate.😀

    • Yes that's been happening for years although it has significantly slowed as of the recent years.
I currently use about 4 windows 7 licenses that I acquired that way. Couldn't tell you the amount that were resold while I was working for that business.

windows 10 is free with insider program

    • Is there a cost to the insider program? What’s the catch?

      • no cost, only your time and being Microsoft's guinea pig.

        • -1

That was true but you don't get free windows anymore. If so show link

        • -2

@voolish: literally a 10 second google will give you your answer. im here for bargains, not to do your research

        • @chumlol:

Not that I disagree, but if you beg, the onus is on you to provide proof for your reason, so a vague “google it”.

        • +2

@tomsco: My response was in proportion to the politeness of the request. I would have been more inclined to give a link had there been an actual request rather than a demand

        • @chumlol: I'm not begging for a free windows I have windows I'm just saying you're wrong.

        • @chumlol:

          Fair enough.

        • -1

@voolish: yes, googling is hard…. So much easier to comment on forums.

        • @chumlol:I'm not having a go at you, and yes I'm not googling it because previous experience has told me it doesn't work. I was in the insider program and could no longer get free windows once I moved to Linux and tried to move back. I searched then for a couple hours like a year ago. You're mistaking my shortness when I say "if so show link" as an attack. I'm just interested to see if someone has actually gotten it to work.

    • "windows 10 is free with insider program", but not for everyone. Why would anyone then even pay a cent for it, when we could all jump on the bandwagon and ride for free.

There was actually a proper windows 10 if you follow this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/250921 you could've done it by 31/12/2017.

  • +4

I've bought keys like this before, and whilst they may activate now, they won't in the future.

That, and the fact they're also stolen.

    Stay away.

    • +1

Wow, what a waste of 7.55, but thanks for the warning!!

  • +1

not a deal, ebay has plenty of 'recycled' OEM win10 keys for $5-6

(As far as legalities, in EU it is legal to re-sell Windows OEM keys from PC's that are no longer in use.)

  • I've bought from this specific seller previously; it took them 3 tries to get me a working key. For what its worth, the key is still functional. Id be wary for anyone considering this.

    • -1

Be careful. You might find the key stops working after you can't get a replacement any more so you have to buy another one.

  • +2

If you want dirty keys they're cheaper elsewhere. Why even post this??

  • As a test I bought an upgrade..
    "EST. DELIVERY 06-Feb to 08-Feb"
    let's see…

  • got an developer key from ebay just before win 10 release still no issues

  • Standard reseller of MSDN/technet/dreamspark licence.

Negged. I believe strongly illegitimate keys (which these are, I've sat through a couple of discussions on these with Microsoft staff), are NOT a bargain.
