    The 710 has higher resolution, different processor and no fan. I think I read that it is lighter too.

      710 suffers from a white light of death as I posted in that thread, avoid it in favor of the 510.

  I received mine yesterday. The keyboard is backlit. I was hoping it would be, but wasn't too sure because I found conflicting specs online. I think because the light has to be expressly turned on, many reviewers didn't realise there was a backlight. To turn the light on/off you click Fn + Spacebar.
  I'm really happy with it so far.
