  • Merged from Sony KD65X8000H (Box Damaged^) 65" X8000H 4K Ultra HD with HDR Android TV AU $1,525.50
    Go to Deal

Not sure if this should be posted, but considering the last few posts re: box damages TV's from Sony via their Ebay store. 3 in stock atm.

    • Not enough stock

    • Almost bought till I realised it was the 8000H

      • Yes, it's for the 8000. For some ppl might be worth watching and waiting for the 9000 for 2.1

      • what does that mean? which series would you recommend?

        • Sub panel is VA on 9000H compared to 8000H, this means better contrast, uniformity and picture quality where as the 8000H has better viewing angles if youre not viewing from straight on. 9000H has hdmi 2.1 so it supports next gen gaming consoles for high refresh rates on 4k gaming.

      • Yeah, I ordered then cancelled straight away, lucky I realised, waiting for a 65 X9000H deal

    • Is this old model

    • +5

I purchased the 65" X9000H for $1750 at the Good Guys Auburn last week.

Salesperson asked me where I'd seen it sold for this price and I told him that I saw on Whirlpool that several people have got it for this price. When he said that $1850 was the best he could do I said "don't worry then" and started walking away. Then he said he'd ask the manager and came back saying that they will sell it to me for $1750. I've seen a few similar stories around ozb as well.

Just putting it out there in case an OzBargainer wants a good price on the X9000H.

    • The old walk away play haha nice. Always works in bing Lee for me haha

    • +1

      yup. says overseas model.
      so no apple pay

better off iphone 11 at this price

      • 11 got a crap screen. But it's fine for people that can't differentiate between oled and ips. It gets even worse when you put a screen protector.
        Personally I regret buying it.

      • Why wouldn’t there be Apple Pay? A quick Google says Apple Pays locked based on the region of the iTunes account you use, not the devices original region.

      • Why no Apple Pay? I have an XR I bought in Macau and it works fine in Australia.

in Y2020, spend 1000aud to buy a 64g phone which released in three years ago?

      • -3

To be honest this xs max still perform better than many 1000 dollars android phone, the whole user experience. but yea sucks that it’s only 64gb, if it’s 128 then it will be a great buy

        • +4

          $1000 can purchase a 512g s10 or 256g note10 or 128g 5g s20 FE, I think they all the better choice than 64g xs max

  • Merged from Aquael Platinium Glass Aquarium Heater 300W $58.73 + Free Delivery @ eBay
    Go to Deal

There are not enough aquarium related deals on OzBargain so I thought I would help to change that with my first post. This is the 300W Aquael Platinum Aquarium Heater. The next cheapest I can find this model in stock online is $75 so I think it constitutes a bargain.

I have had this exact model heating my 350L tropical tank for a couple of weeks now and I really like it. It has an electronic display that you can easily check the temperature the heater is set at and it also shows the actual temperature in the tank. It has an electronic thermostat (claimed accuracy within 0.8 degrees) and I've checked it against two other thermometers and it seems quite accurate (I have my tank set to 26-degrees).

A good alternative to the high priced Eheim-Jager which is usually considered the gold standard for aquarium heaters.

Pro tip: install the heater on around a 45- to 60-degree angle and the thermostat will operate with greater accuracy than if installed vertically (less of the freshly heated water will be moving directly over the thermostat)

    • I think you can get one for like $25 on eBay. I bought one over 3 years ago and it hasn't missed a beat.

      • Link? I can't find this model at 300w for $25 on eBay. Lower wattage models for smaller tanks will be cheaper. Maybe you can get a Chinese brand 300w for $25 but not worth it in my opinion. I had a digital chinese cheapie on another tank and the temperature sensors rusted out within a month or two - resulted in an emergency trip to the pet store and paying top shelf price for an Eheim.

        • Yeah sorry they were the chinese ones.

I guess in the overall scheme of things, an extra $25 for a heater is a drop in the bucket.

          • @ChickenDinner123: Just starting to get into the game and yep, this hobby is Expensive.

    • fluval is only $60

    • Good heater.
Had better luck with these than fluval and jager.

    • +1

Accurately sous vide your collection of exotic tropical fish.

    • +3

Yeah more fish related deals please

    • Definitely need more aquarium related deals, things get expensive… especially when babies happen 0.0

On another note, Stefmar is a great seller. Good prices & fast delivery, get my seaflex from them for my sisters dog & its always here in 2-3 days.

    • I have the Eheim, but this is a good one too. What ever heater you have consider a backup thermostat to cut off heating in event of heater failing stuck on and you ending up with fish soup.

      • Is this a gooddeal or not? I'm trying to find a gaming laptop with the best graphics and this looks decent for the price.
Would this also support TB3 for external GPU's?

        • Appears to support tb3 - specs page is below https://support.hp.com/sg-en/product/omen-by-hp-15-dh0000-la…

The only other major downside imo with this variant too is single channel memory so you lose some performance vs dual channel memory.

Factor in another 16gb dimm if you want the best peformace.

The best price to performance at the moment is the g7 Dell when it goes on sale with a coupon which is sub 2k for a 2070 max P (but it has some thermal and screen issues)

If you can wait I'd wait, appears to be out of stock anyway.

It's really diminishing returns from 1660ti upwards in laptops due to wattage, but due to beer bug not much is under 2k for a 1660ti or even 2060 from most vendors, and good deals tend to sell quick.

          • @dazza826: Hmm would the G7 Support thunderbolt 3 as well?

I can wait but when I saw the deal and the amount was thinking of jumping on since it was cheap. Do you think then it best to wait for like the Dell 20% off deal and see whats similar?

I have a gaming PC but since I find it hard to move these days I am looking for a gaming PC to use on my bed.

Partial refunds are the biggest scam going right now.

          • @PAEz: Would you mind commenting on what was required to prove fault? And why a partial refund? Interested with electrical items.

I bought a pair of phone-compatible gloves ($US5), they didn't work at all when wearing them! Sent a video showing as such and got a full refund.

            • +1

              @oldmate78:

Would you mind commenting on what was required to prove fault?

Id love to, except I have no idea. There was no communication, just verdicts.
I gave them a photo of the settings and wotnot, that didnt work so gave them a video of it booting and me going into the settings and that wasnt good enough, so I gave up.
I guess their bull$#!7 reasoning is you got something and we rekn its worth woteva.
Thing is I already have a 1gig box, its what Im using now, the new one was meant to be 4gig. The one I have works a lot better than the new one I got. The way the new one resized for a tube tv was overly smoothed and its wifi was abysmal, whereas the wifi on my old one is great.

Im not the only one to go through this. I know two people on the net that had the exact same experience I did.
I get theres no quality control on any of this stuff and so in some cases someone might be willing to accept a partial refund if the defect doesnt bother them to much (personally I think thats crap aswell). But when its an obvious scam like this I should have been able to get a full refund. Seriously feels like ebay and ali protect scammers to me.

            • @oldmate78: Sorry to hear that. A tip for future questionable electronic purchases - pay with Amex.

Every chargeback I've ever submitted they refund the money first then investigate on their end. I'm pretty sure I've never lost a dispute. Extra few % worth the peace of mind.

Can't rely on Aliexpress, ebay or paypal. Even Westpac was awful during a charge back process (especially with COVID).

edit: lol replied to myself somehow

              • @oldmate78: hehe, no ones gonna give me a credit card ;P
