Eco-Drive means the watch is solar powered, it has a rechargeable battery.
Reports from members in previous deals say that the rechargeable battery is still working in their older eco-drives after 10 years or more.

    Excellent deal as always WatchNerd.
Those prices are hard to resist.

    Watching Watch WatchNerd.. :)
    Awesome post..

Excellent price for the Citizen ProMaster Black BN0150-10E which has $525.00 RRP.

    • What is the difference between black and blue besides the color?

      • +1

        Strap colour.

    • That means nothing. RRP is always going to be much higher than sale price for watches.

      • Shiels are actually charging $525.00 so Member WatchNerd's deal is worth plus-voting.

        • No… his post is worth upvoting because it beats the second cheapest price for a grey import. With a few searches on eBay, reputable places are selling this watch for around $250 AUD.

If you want local stock, the market price is $300 AUD (check out Starbuy).

Hey WatchNerd, you seem to know stuff, can I ask you a ProMaster question?

I have a ProMaster Land BM6401-58E, I love this watch.

It was a Limited Edition or something, is there anything new in the ProMaster range that is similar? You know understated, simple, good lume and solid stainless band.

    Thanks.

You are right, that is an awesome watch and I bought one too on a nylon strap from this deal. It's actually mentioned on Watchuseek Forum Favourite Thread under Recently Departed.

I can't believe Citizen stopped making it!! Although there is the AW1410-24E which is very similar. I posted a deal on it here.
Not quite as understated & simple as you put it, which I totally agree.

Thanks for all the information, very interesting. Especially the Favorite forum.

Bought the blue Thanks op :)

  • Tempted but this will be my 5th watch purchase for Feb!!!

  • I wonder if they are counterfeit or Citizen site just enflates prices?

Counterfeit products aren't allowed to be posted on Ozbargain.

Shiels are charging RRP now and Starbuy don't sell counterfeit anything. You can even pickup at their Pitt Street office. I have done so 3 times. Voting is available at the green number to the left of code PRONTO.

WatchNerd eagerly awaiting deals on the Seiko Alpinist or 'pepsi' diver! Great deal tho.

    • +2

The cheapest I can find the pepsi diver using code PRONTO -

      Seiko SKX009K1 on Rubber US$166.93 - $16.69 = US$150.24 shipped (~AU$190.00)
      Seiko SKX009K2 SS Bracelet US$172.00 - $17.20 = US$154.80 shipped (~AU$195.50)

      • Yeah for those prices I think I'll wait - don't like the idea of limited warranty from the Singapore dealers. I'd buy a cheap 5 from them but nothing more expensive. I suspect I might be waiting a while though :(

        • +1

It doesn't get much cheaper than that for SKX009 on a bracelet to be honest. But I probably wouldn't go for that seller. Wait for a 15% off deal.

        • @ilikeit: Yeah wasn't suggesting that price was bad - just that I wouldn't be willing to spend that amount regardless from a singapore seller offering their own partial warranty (nothing for bracelet, casing, crown, glass - only "mechanical") in place of the seiko warranty. I'd rather spend more and have the full warranty so I'll wait.

        • +1

@Wilburre: If it has an international warranty, you can just take it to an Australian service centre in your nearest major/capital city. But I agree with what you're saying.

    Hi OP.

I previously owned this armitron, from Amazon.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00451ZGCW/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?ie=…

Can you recommend an alternative, that also has an alarm.
Backlight would be preferable, but not necessary.

    Thanks.

    • +2

How much do you want to spend?

Armitron aren't much different from Skmei watches just more expensive.
For example you can get a similar Skmei 1222 $7.59 shipped
My favourite Skmei is the Skmei 1134.

If you want to step up to better quality check out the massive G-Shock post by PJC, link is in the description.

      • +2

Thank you for a clear, concise, and helpful answer.

Currently leaning towards the Skmei 1222, but in the future would like to possibly upgrade to GShock 7700, through PJC's link.

On a side note, I've got an Omega I'm looking to sell - any recommendations where to safely sell it for a reasonable price?
