Are you sure installation is now free? Minimum cost in month 1 is $139.03 which would indicate the $100 install fee still applies?

    • Click the foxtel link not the ozbargain one, shows minimum cost as $39.01 on my side.

      • +2

        • @shaz0316: sounds if I cancel after 1 month there is no cancellation fee except fee of that month, can anyone confirm?

        • Definitely free install and min cost $39 for me.

        • That's if you order over the phone, do it online and is 39

      • Cheers - going incognito worked for me!

    • +4

Still showing $139.03 minimum for me too.

    • I ordered this. It's an extra 100 if you call and order. ( $139 first month). If you order online first month is only $39.03 - install is free.

  • Might cancel my Foxtel with Telstra and reapply…

How long do you have to wait to be considered a new customer?

    • Just get your billing switched over to foxtel no need to cancel anything. Wait 24 hrs then ask to get the above deal. Shouldn't have to pay for install fees 1q3 boxes or anything except $39 per month

    • I asked them this. 30 days.

    • +2

I rang yesterday and complained as an existing customer , I got the package I wanted for the same advertised price as new customers on their website without having to cancel . Just said I was prepared to cancel but that was obv more work for them and me ….

      • +2

I did this last time it was advertised. I was prepared to cancel. I really only watch the Supercross and footy on there

They offered me a few different crappy deals before giving me this one.

    • I have foxtel with telstra. Just called them this week to get sports reactivated and managed to get a deal where they waived the cost for the entertainment package and I pay for sports with HD for $29 per month. No threats to cancel either.

      • that's a smoking deal!

      • Is that definately sports and HD for $29? They mentioned a similar deal to me but said sports and HD was $39 ($29 +$10). How did you manage to get HD for free? That's a great deal.

        • you guys had me doubting myself, i haven't got any paperwork yet so called to confirm. Not in the system so trying to get the $39 now…

very disappointed, kicking myself for hanging up without having something in writing…

        • @tenyearguarantee: so they had no record of the conversation where they offered you sports and HD for $29? How frustrating. Hope you were able to get this deal for $39?

        • @cinnamon85:

Turns out i was able to get the deal but only because it was an error on their side on two accounts.

Quite happy with the service and the response to my requests from telstra.

        • @tenyearguarantee: so you were able to get entertainment, sport & HD for $29? Or was it $39? Is that a special package or did they honour it just as a once off?

        • @cinnamon85: they did me a one off and it works out to 29 per month over 24 months.

  • +19

I don't want the entertainment package poisoning my lounge room with it's brain cell killing trash. Just want to watch NRL, and some A-League. Don't wan't to pay for AFL or Super Rugby when I'm not interested in either. Above all else I ca't bring myself to sign up for a company that is the reason why out NBN network was sabotaged. I'll continue to watch free online streams on VIPbox and stopstream.

    • +1

You don't have to watch all the channels just the video ones that interest you. Have fun trying to subscribe any other way.

      • +9

I believe he's saying he doesn't want to pay for the entertainment package but they force it as a pre-requisite before the sports package.

        • +2

Yes, pay tv survives by monopolising live sport broadcasts.

      • +1

paying for something that I don't want in my house is the issue

    • I see NRL for those OS has switched from a free RugbyPass -> WatchNRL.com (run by Foxtel) and now charges $189/yr
      https://www.watchnrl.com/?utm_source=nrl&utm_medium=helpfaq&…

oh well looks like it'll be the Telstra NRL steam this year.

interestingly FoxSoccerPass in the US, has NRL, AFL, FA Cup, and heaps of international soccer and is only $us140 (~$180)/yr!

      • Watchnrl.com with VPN should do it. Foxsoccerpass.com looks good too and you can Chromecast too.

    • +8

      Hey, you take that back!

Real housewives of Frankston is a cutting edge and thought provoking snapshot of cultural society and the progression of our species in the face of change.

    • +17

A bit ironic that you consider Foxtel entertainment channels to be brain-killing, but then continue to openly admit watching NRL.

      • +2

I like watching footy but can't stand the Kardashians if you can believe it

        • +3

Especially if they are playing fullback!

    • +1

subscribe to Foxtel Now then instead…

    • I find NRL and some A-League is brain cell killing trash :D

  • +1

Is the IQ3 box still crap? Can you ask for an IQ2?

    • +1

I got an IQ3 the day it was released and regretted it every single day. Eventually ended our Foxtel subscription, and then signed up again with this deal. The box I have received now has shown absolutely no signs of trouble and I would definitely recommend them.

    • It’s good. I prefer the old menu guide and the background music. Bluetooth remote is a little slow compared to the ir on iq2 which I prefer

    • I haven't come across any issues over the past year with my IQ3. A couple of years ago, it was a mess (often freezing/restarting) but plenty of updates seem to have ironed out any major bugs.

    • I cancelled our Foxtel with Telstra late last year. Twice the damn IQ3 wiped recorded programmes and messed around not starting, freezing, shutting down, blank screen.

  • The other day I had one computer showing free standard install and another showing $100 install. Very strange. Chated them and they are more than happy to honor free install.

  • So how much is it after 12 months?

    • $65… I think

    • $65 for the Sports HD package

  • Are they still charging $10 per month for HD?

    • yes and no.. depends on what deal your on

      • Do you know what deals have the free HD? I couldn't get them to make it free for me!

        • I guess you could call it free if you sign onto this $39 deal as its factored into the price. If you were to build your own package then yes you'd have to pay extra for HD. After 12 months if you sign onto the $39 deal then the price goes to $65 and then you'd be paying for HD

  • +3

If people r interested they have an $89 deal Foxtel platinum HD with iq3 never advertised u have to ask for it
Iv been on it for 6 years now

    • +4

      • +4

When he said “it” did not mean foxtel…

    • +1

      whatttttttt
      any info on web???

      • +1

Not advertised you ring Foxtel ask for disconnections
Then they will do the $89 deal Foxtel platinum HD

    • I have the same plan. When it is about to finish just call and ask for it again on the phone.

      • tried they're online chat - no dice. Best price they got to was $99/mth

        • +1

You have to ring and ask for disconnections then ask for the $89 deal there the only ones that can do it ….
Iv saved 3000 + over 6 years with this deal

        • +45

My math shows over 6 years you’ve wasted $6,408.

        • @bradenpd: god damn

        • @Dex38313:
only issue is I don't have Foxtel .. to disconnect in the 1st place

  • +8

    Desperate times, desperate measures

  • I'm chatting online and they wont wave the $100 fee :(

    What should I do?

    • +1

Telstra will do it for you if you are a telstra customer.

      • +1

Screen capture the free installation offer, or get a copy of a pic from someone here!

  • I'm with Optus :(

Does anyone have a screenshot of it?

    • +4

Try opening Chrome, Open Incognito mode, then visit the site directly

      Copy and paste the link
      https://www.foxtel.com.au/shop.html?icid=indexherobanner_sho…

directly into URL. See if that works.

      • Thank you so much!!! Worked like a charm :)

      • +2

Yup, did that, on my phone (Telstra), and laptop (Bigpond), in Chrome - Incognito:

*Min cost $139.03 (incl $100 std install fee) on direct debit for 1 month based on Sports HD Combo with an iQ3. New residential subscribers and standard install only. Ongoing fees charged monthly in advance and cancellation occurs at end of monthly period. Offer ends 28-03-2018.

        • +3

Interesting. Thanks for the feedback. Looks like Foxtel does not want everyone to visit to have this special offer so they are possibly restricting the number of low-profit signups.

      • This worked for me

      • Firefox & Edge (both incognito) shows up as 139.03 incl install fee. But with Chrome incognito, you can actually see the page originally loads up with 139.03 but the dynamic HTML eventually changes the fee to 39.03. I think the Foxtel web guys just stuffed up the HTML code somewhere with browser headers and the discounted fee was really meant for everyone.

      • this worked for me, 39.03 / month. thanks!

        • yay work for me

    • +2

Stussy has put a link to it- its the 6th comment from the top.

  • +1

Foxtel are getting desperate…they must be losing so many customers daily who are cancelling their service…

    • It is a dinosaur service clinging to life like video stores used to. But at least Foxtel caved and created a web version, even if they treat it as a second class citizen.

  • Telestra won't do it if you have HFC connection as per there tv commerical

  • -1

Just a Q about the heading for this deal!
    ENT + SPORTS + HD
Don't think it's the dedicated HD option just Sports in HD.
Dedicated HD is an extra $10 a month.

    I pay $60 a month for ENT+SPORTS+DOCOS+HD
Was a negotiated deal with Telstra after getting the great FREE Premium pack for 3 months years ago.

    • +1

It's not just sports in HD. It's the regular 'HD Pack'.

      • Yep, just had a chat and it's the HD PACK!

        • What is the HD pack for entertainment sports and HD?

        • +2

It just gives you HD quality on the channels that offer it. Usually extra $10 a month.
It's BS to have to pay to get HighDef should just be standard.

    • HAHAHA

Being with Telstra/Foxtel rang them and mentioned the Foxtel packages.
Got ours down to $50 a month now! ENT+SPORTS+DOCOS+HD

      • I'm on the phone with them now and they are adamant its new customers only.

Scratch that, had to go through to cancellations to get something similar.

  • Can you add additional channel packs for their full price after getting it installed and set up? Just call up and say “I want to add drama and ent plus?”

    E.g. (entertainment + sports + HD) + drama + entertainment plus = 39 + 20 + 10 = 69?

I don’t really need the platinum HD for 89 deal that often pops up.

    • Dont see why you couldn't

  • I got this deal (I didn't want the IQ3 though) as an existing customer, just call Foxtel and tell the prompt 'disconnect' as the reason for your call. This will put you through to a section that is much more likely to give you the deal. Just mention that you've seen the deal for new customer and you would like it as an existing customer, they said yes straight away to me - didn't need to mention anything about disconnecting.

  • +1

I can't seem to get it without the install fee. Tried a heap of different browsers

    • +1

Got it working in Opera using "New private window".
      https://imgur.com/QYj2qhn

      • Wait till you go to pay and reverts back with installation fee

        • Went through to booking of time and then to entering CC details and still showed $39 for one month for me

    • Keep trying. I got it to work eventually with Chrome incognito and using the direct link: https://www.foxtel.com.au/shop.html?icid=indexherobanner_sho…

    • Try and open the link in Chrome incognito mode
Let the page completely load. Initially it will show $139 but once the page finishes loading the cost should change to $39. I presume there's some java script sneaky going on =p

  • +1

I can get it for $39.03 on my browser if anyone wants me to subscribe for them?

  • I wonder if they will throw in a 2nd box for free. Then I'm in.

    • Haha, this is Foxtel remember, not a hope in hell of that happening!!!

    • +1

You're cutting yourself short, I wouldn't sign up until they offer to mow my lawns once a month.
