      Yuuuummmm!

    • +1

Palm Oil is good for the skin! I should be using this as a face mask.

      • +6

You can use it on the face? I thought it was just for palms…

        • +2

Gotta spread it on the palms to get to the face ;)

        • @Clear: sounds like a challenge

        • @Clear:

          D'OH!!

          facepalm

        • +1

Thanks for your reply. I was about to palm it off to someone else

    • So it's more sugar than anything else and it also has at least one other kind of sugar.

    • ewwwwww disgusting

    • And GMO disclosure (presuming these are manufactured in the US):

      http://smartlabel.hersheys.com/00034000124138-0005#other

This product includes ingredients sourced from genetically engineered (GE) crops, commonly known as GMOs.
In some products, we're sourcing ingredients from non-GMO crops (for example cane sugar). We can't guarantee that all ingredients are from non-GMO crops.

      • +1

So what? Almost everything is GMO and it isn't inherently a bad thing.

        • -1

It is a bad thing. Just because they say today that GMO isn't harmful to our health doesn't mean it won't be said in the future. It is patented. Farmers are suiciding because they have to rebuy from Monsanto every year and are broke and can no longer grow what they grew before.

    • +2

Contains 2% or Less of: Cocoa

shouldn't be allowed to use the word chocolate

      • Agreed.

  • +9

Recently I used this to make a triple sandwich. Reese Peanut Butter + Nutella + Marshmallow fluff. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm delicious!

    • +14

I think I got diabetes just reading this.

    • Where are you buying marshmallow fluff??

      • +1

        Woolworths.

        • Holy crap. Will have to keep an eye out for it. Don't see it on their site, did you recall if you found it near the spreads, foreign foods, or marshmallows?

        • +1

          @Secha75: Spreads.

        • @Clear: Thanks for that :)

Waiting on WatchNerd for the info on Sugar and Fats..

    • We need more LED info on this bitch!

  • Any at Safeway in Balwyn?

    • -5

      google maps is ur friend

  • Is palm oil really bad for health or is it only bad because of orangutans?

    • +5

I think it's one of the unhealthiest cooking oils. As a general rule, if something is full of palm oil, you're better off going with an alternative. It's such a cheap ingredient that whatever it's used in will likely be pretty poor quality. Alternatives aren't necessarily more expensive. Costco in the US have Kirkland version that's palm oil free. Haven't checked Aus's Costco

      • +1

It’s actually the hydrogenated vegetable oil that is the worst ingredient.
It’s been banned in a few countries already. I would like for it to be banned in Oz ASAP.

    • +1

high in saturated fat and trans fats ……it’s why they don’t use it to cook corn chips in the USA … FDA clamped down on the trans fats …… but hey in australia we can be fed anything ….. go CCs and Doritos .

check USA doritos, they aren’t cooked in palm oil …..

      • but muricans still manage to get morbidly obese anyway

    • +1

      https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4365303/

“Therefore, in conclusion it is the opinion of the authors that palm oil consumed as a dietary fat as part of a healthy balanced diet does not have incremental risk for cardiovascular disease. Little or no additional benefit will be obtained by replacing it with other oils rich in mono or polyunsaturated fatty acids.”

How long is the expiry date on these generally? I'm thinking about stocking up just in case society takes a mad max turn for the future…

    • +1

I bought a few jars from a couple of Woolworths stores in Melbourne when this was last on sale and they all had best before dates of September 2018. I'll be interested to see if they're any newer this time.

    • Best before….so you can probably safely store these for years and years!
I knew someone that had 15yo vegemite….and it still tasted the same.

Not much in it that's going to expire.

    • Bought today, BB112018
      DO NOT REFRIGERATE OR MICROWAVE
      Doesn't mention freezing though ;)

      • Same here. I bought another couple today and they were best before November 2018.

And while we're reading funny things on the label: The orange color is a registered trademark.

        • I have my Xiaomi RGB light set to orange so the orange packaging doesn't look the right shade, I wonder if I am infringing on their trademark..

Reese’s Peanut Butter Chocolate has 51.4% sugar and 32.4% fat.

    • +7

      Thank you sir.

    • +1

There is nothing wrong with certain fats and eating large amounts of them is healthy provided you aren't scarfing down carbs like say this crap. Although it does contain hydrogenated vegetable oil which is banned in many countries because it kills people.

      • Lol, you killed the joke.

    • can u tell me what nutella is

      • +6

Its a choc hazelnut spread. It tastes really good.

        • +1

          thx

        • It's much nicer than Reeses

    • +1

tha alternative is nutella which is higher in saturated fat …..

    • +2

      Does it have any peanuts?

  • +1

    TA strikes again.

  • In the US we get Reese's Peanut butter cups https://www.eatthismuch.com/food/view/reeses-peanut-butter-c… , oh so yummy. Never noticed them here. They re round and almost flat with a peanut butter mix in the middle coated in chocolate oh so yummy. wonder if this is a product based on that. Think I have seen this in the US to but never tried it

    • All costco in Au have them. They are very delicious

    • +2

we have them in australia too, pretty much every major retailer sells them

    • +2

Kmart, Coles, Woolworths and Reject Shop off the top of my head sells Peanut Butter Cups.

      • Cheap as Chips too.

        • I think Reject Shop are actually the cheapest. They usually sell them in bulk.

  • +5

I'm guessing this is ridiculously bad for you?

    • no

    • Not really does contain some healthy fats. The sugars high though which isn't good. Your better of just eating plain peanut butter but sometimes its nice to treat your self.

    • +1

anything with sugar is generally yes!

  • Does it come in chunky?

    • …it comes out chunky!

      • Not true, mine came out as smooth as it went in

        • Lol!!

  • +8

I bought a jar and didn't like it one bit. It's very gritty in texture, and sickly sweet like most American-made sweet things.

    • still got ur upvote :)

      • Up vote for the deal… I personally didn't like it but others might, and it's still a very good price for the product

    • Also tried it today. It does have a gritty texture. It also does contain a fair bit of sodium which gives it a slight salty taste. I had a few teaspoons and chucked the rest out. Wasn't to my liking.

  • +5

Prefer pure peanut butter made from Aussie grown peanuts anyday.

  • Vic woolies as well?

    • Yes

  • +3

Some people jump from the plane, some ride at 150kmh, some share the big waves with sharks, my life-risking act is eating Reese peanut butter.

    • +3

      You can get it jumpin'

      You can get it pumpin'

You can get it pressin' a suit

A hard earned thirst needs a big cold beer

And the best cold beer's VIC

      A LONG COLD VIC

      You can get it liftin'

      You can get it shiftin'

You can get it any old how

Matter o' fact, I got it now.

  • +1

These are grainy and yuck!!! If anyone near the bankstown area wants a free jar or two, let me know. I went a bit crazy last time and bought four. Gave 1 away and have 2 unopened jars.

Prefer putting kraft PB and Nutella on a sandwich than this crap!

But good deal for those who enjoy it.

    • This ^^^^.

  • Anyone know where it is made?

    • +1

It didn't say on the jar. Just says distributed by Hershey's Pennsylvania. So my guess would be America.

      • Mine says Made in the USA on the jar. There does seem to be an additional sticker on top of the orange label that has Australian-style nutritional information and other details, so maybe some are missing this import sticker?

  • Plenty of stock at my local, helps the discount was not advertised on shelf..
I went at it with a spoon while watching a show, the amount of remaining spread is inversely proportional to how sick I feel :>

  • Thaaaa, my ticky-tocker
