Good price, I wish they would bring back the PS4 pro boxing day price.

    • +1

I’m keeping an eye out for that as well! Amazon if you hear us - don’t threaten to do this and actually pull the trigger.

    • I feel you. I waited and waited and could not wait any more.

    • Just curious, how much as that back then.

      • +1

        $389

        • Thanks dude. Still hoping Sony release a PS4 Pro with 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray :(

So is this going to be Amazon’s thing? Just price matching other stores rather than trying to lead the competition on pricing?

    • +6

Works out cheaper for me as I'd have to pay for shipping with JB

      • +3

For most, buying via jb with discounted jb cards even with shipping should be cheaper at jb. Entertainment book, my gas and power company, work social club, both have discounts in cards ranging from a min of 5% to often 7-8% and some times 10% off.

    • +1

That Minecraft Xbox One was a price leader.

    • +7

Their price has been $419 for the switch for ages. That was lower than anywhere else and includes shipping. JB has this price for only one day and they're matching despite already having a relatively good price

    • Amazon never claims to be price leader (despite most people's incorrect assumption). Their aim is to have always low prices (much like Big W, Walmart) and to be competitive which means price-matching where there's a known cheaper offer from a competitor. But their pricing isn't usually loss leading or to undercut the competition off the bat.

I'm not so sure your comments are accurate.

Amazon has come through with some wicked deals in some categories in the last few weeks - as seen on this site - so they're obviously gearing up.

        • yeah, hope to see them start some "deal of the day" products soon like they have on the US/UK sites, those usually have wicked discounts.

It's taking them some time, but pretty sure that's Amazon's way of making sure things are running well before ramping up to big sales.

Still waiting on my PUMA shoes which they have taken 4 days before shipping it out via regular shipping. I guess if you are not into the cheapest deal and want your stuff pronto, then Ebay Click and collect is still the way to go.

        • I'm speaking as a general price policy. Of course like all retailers they will engage in discounted pricing strategies and promotions, such as loss leading, or at near costs prices, at times to remain competitive and as a way to attract customers. For some reason many Australians are under the illusion that Amazon should be cheaper than every competitor, at all times, on all products.

    • They haven't even started to do their thing. Once they set up distribution centers and amazon prime. Then you will see their full potential.

      • yes the only warehouse is in Melbourne and they depend on Auspost to deliver which is really slow since its not geared up properly for online shopping yet. Looking forward to Prime as well as Amazon online grocery shopping.

  • Don't forget there is still a 5%off coupon in JB until the end of today.

    • +5

Switches are excluded from the 5% coupon

      • +2

Ahh bummer just when I thought I could switch things up

    • Which is what?

  • +11

I just paid $419 for it from there 2 days ago and it won't arrive till Tuesday after Easter. Just contacted them via live chat and the rep I spoke to just refunded me $20 :)

  • if its cheaper elsewhere buy it there - jb hifi motto.

so if its cheaper with shipping at Amazon that's what everyone should do…

    warranty probably better 2 there

    • Not their motto in my experience.

      • -4

        negged me for your experience?

3 different jb stores - 3 different products over 10 day period.

That's my experience in the last 3 weeks.

The game involved was in stock in the local mall at eb and was a dollar cheaper -it was instock online as well.

        probably associated in some way….

        • I didn't neg the original but I'll neg this.

        • -4

          @jamesvdm:

jb fans and employees out in force over easter.

is this a sound business tactic?

    Well done OP.

  • +1

I got 10 % code from agl. If anyone interested please pm me.

    • +1

I got that too but is it 10% or $10? Because now my account has $10 of "Promotional Balance."

      • I think it's 10% of your first 100 bucks on Amazon AU so it's 10 bucks.

        • +1

Ah that explains why I didn't get as much of a discount as I'd expected. Cheers. Glad I didn't waste time looking for more stuff to buy.

    • Pm'ed thanks in advance :)

    • Please PM me thank you sir.

  • Glad i got on the BigW Switch train back then when it was $369.

Haven’t seen it cheaper than that yet…

    • +1

Got mine last year from Hardly Normal: $399 with $100 AMEX rebate… $299 :)

    • Kogan, only lasted an hour though.

    • It’s $335 on catch of the day if you used the 20% off catch gift cards from target

  • How is this a deal if its just pricematching an existing offer? I wish I could un-upvote this "deal" :(

    • +5

cheaper - free postage that's why

or to put it another way jbhifi is more expensive when delivery is added in, and time and fuel and queuing etc etc.

      • -1

Meh, it's just as cheap with C+C.

    • +2

Member petry is correct. OP's post is a deal due to free shipping and therefore cheaper.

    • +1

It's a deal as 99 people confirmed with their vote (as of the time of this comment), and that number did not include yours had you un-upvoted this post.

      • -1

Haha yeah, because popularity is a sure sign of legitimacy.

        • Don't practice what you preach.

        • @sky blu: no worries.

        • I remember the deal (pricing error) for the Google Home Mini from Good Guys on the 1st of January. Hundreds of upvotes but maybe 1% of people actually managed to get theirs. So I have to agree with what you are saying here.

        • @ZachBlasphemy:lol, I was one of those 99%.

    • +1

JB is back to 449 now, no argument.

  • +2

Do the PS4 Pro deal again Amazon, I already have the Switch.

  • +1

    Game! We need cheaper games!

  • Sounds like a good deal but I'm going to stick with my sounds like a good deal but I'm going to stick with my PlayStation Vita for now !! Until they release GTA V on Switch !!

  • Is there an issue with warranty going through Amazon? Is this considered a import or Australian stock?
