Damn! Why couldn’t you post this half hour ago :( just signed up with mungi after getting booted from buzz telco!

    • I had to leave Buzz Telco after moving house - why are they booting customers? (I was going to sign up again after the HFC embargo ends)

        • RIP Buzztelco. Luckily I left them about 6 months ago. Two backhaul providers dropping them in a few months. Not good for business!

        • Wow. They were posting on OzB only weeks ago.

        • @lostn: Buzz was posting on Whirlpool saying all is well in March 22, after people saw an insolvency notice. http://whrl.pl/Re7kg8

If I was at all concerned that we were going to be shut down, I would not be pushing for our network to be expanded quicker, I would instead be trying to get a hold put on it.

        • @alvian: That's shady.

This company hasn't even been around for long, and got some good buzz in the beginning (pun not intended). Wonder how it all went wrong?

        • @lostn: I was on 100/40 unlimited paying 50$ a month for first 6 months…typical speed around 85. Pretty stable connection too

Any ideas what went wrong? Would be interesting to know

    • Their may be a cooling off period. Also, they posted a deal similar to this yesterday or the day before.

      • Yeh that might be alright - also is this once off $10 credit or recurring?

      • +1

Yesterday's deal: Save $20 by paying for first 2 months in one go. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/374020
Today's deal: Save $10 for first month.

          Tomorrow's deal: Free Sausage Sizzle.

        • @Jasonx: Gold coin donation for tomorrow's ANZAC Day sausage sizzle.

        • +1

I don't get it. Previous deal expired due to lack of interest so now they decided to offer a lesser deal?

        • +1

          @Jasonx:

          Tomorrow's deal: Free Sausage Sizzle.

          How much for delivery?

I don't get it. Previous deal expired due to lack of interest so now they decided to offer a lesser deal?

Yeah I don't see it being worthy of a new post for a once-off $10 saving. He's just trying to be on the front page often so they can get talked about continuously.

    • Wait?? what am i missing here? is Mungi bad too? coz i just got BUZZED

    • A once off $10 would have been enough for you to change ISP? That's a low tipping point.

  • Is this in place of yesterday's deal?

    • It appears that way

    • It is, the deal yesterday was too complicated and the setup fee component as the payment for the second month caused too much confusion. I decided to simplify it.

      • My account was setup 2 weeks ago but my connection doesn't go live until May 3rd. Do that mean $10 will be credited to my account?

        • You'll get whatever was included in the offer you clicked through when adding the service.

  • How long would it take to churn from Buzz Telco (Vocus) to Telecube for FTTB?

    • same question but for fttp please

      • +1

Buzz are ceasing all connections on Thursday

Churn for FTTB and FTTP/FTTN should be within a few hours, or a day or two

HFC on the other hand can take a little longer.

        • Buzz to ABB about 1 hour to churn on HFC.

      • +2

FTTP will be enabled on the next available UNI-D port so there's no downtime.

        • Mungi or Telecube?
Also, will ISP send settings for modem?

  • Thanks - have just jumped ship!

    Hi Rep

I just signed up to the 50/20 500gb (ID 1000631553) but have not been activated. Can I get the 10$ credit as well please or do i have to do this manually?

    Thanks

  • Hi Rep,

I just signed up with another provider after getting buzzed. Please repeat this offer again in a month's time as I already paid for a month?

    Thanks!

    • Telecube seem to be running semi regularly promos so there will probably be something available when you need.

      • Yeah I was going to sign up for yesterday's deal but in the coming days.

I might wait and see what he posts tomorrow or the day after.

        • If you specifically want yesterdays offer please message me and let me know.

        • @telecube:
Hey bud i signed up on the same day and then this offer released. Can you please switch it. Let me know if you need my customer ID. Cheers

        • @Buff: you could have changed plans in the portal .. however this offer is expired sorry.

    • You should be able to sign up and connect later.

  • I've been with Telecube since August 2017 on HFC in Nunawading, VIC. I consistently get 93/37 at all hours of the day. Congestion, if it occurs, is dealt with quickly. The main mode of support is email so keep that in mind (especially if you can't access email without your Telecube connection).

  • +1

    Once off $10… kinda pointless

    • Offsets a small portion of the $49 "setup" fee. Setup fee, what a rort.

      • +2

There's no setup fee with this offer, it's a $10 credit back of the first months cost.

        • +1

          Hi Rep,
I've signed up yesterday aro 2.45pm and received an email at 4.05pm saying that my NBN service has been ordered and would receive update on provisioning. It has been more than 24 hours, I've not received any update on the provisioning. When I login to my Telecube account, my order does not show up under the Orders tab. Kindly help to look into this and advise provisioning ETA. Also when could I expect the $10 credit to show up on my account (Customer ID: 10000644848) ? Thanks heap.

        • +1

@F1ngolf: Got my order provisioned last night and would be working today to get connected. I must say signed up process was pretty smooth despite being Anzacs yesterday. Rep support via email is pretty good in getting job done. Look forward to smooth connection and reliable speed. Thanks to Store Rep for sorting out the $10 credit!

  • +1

I have hesitate to go with Telecube or Siptalk (same company) as their telephone support is generally poor. They seems to be very busy and under staff. I have left messages for return call without eventuate, especially Siptalk.

    • +1 about the telephone support.. I just signed with them online, so I called to ask how long the transfer from buzz to telecube will be and if i can get this deal's $10 credit but the person on the other end couldn't answer my questions and said someone would call me back. No calls yet.. sent message here, emailed and hopefully someone gets back to me soon..

      • Their email support is pretty good.

  • +1

Ha - here's what I said in yesterdays deal and someone jumped on me for it:

'Gawd, just set a deal and stick to it for more than a month or two! All you do is piss off people that have just signed up. You seem to be just playing with the details and haven't changed the deals all that much for ages. What are you playing at? Trying to find the 'lure' that brings in the most punters?'

    Telecube marketing is getting ridiculous.

  • I just got provisioned for the 50/20 with Telecube, took one afternoon from signing up to activation (FTTP in WA).

Speedtest results on my laptop @ 6pm WA time at 10m away from router (in a cupboard):

    43-46/16 on 5ghz
    http://www.speedtest.net/result/7253891342
    http://www.speedtest.net/result/7253914759

17-30/10 on 2.4ghz (probably not the best wifi card on my laptop? not sure)
    http://www.speedtest.net/result/7253896055
    http://www.speedtest.net/result/7253908577

More consistent/better results on my Pixel 2 XL:

    ~45/19 5ghz
    ~44/19 2.4ghz

4k content streams well on YouTube, not much delay if any.

Happy so far. Everything was pretty seamless. If there's a problem I'll report back.

    • Reporting back after 6 days with Telecube.

Still getting decent local speeds on Speedtest but noticed the following:
      - slow-ish international speeds ~10-20/18
      - on at least one occasion when I was playing an online game on my mobile the ping was >600ms. Turned on mobile data and back to wifi and ping dropped back down to ~150ms
      - whatsapp often took a bit longer to send/receive messages but still works OK
      - on at least one occasion youtube app on my mobile plays all videos to 144p by default and I will need to manually change it to 720/1080p, never had this issue on other wifi networks or when I was with Buzz

Have enabled Dynamic IPv4 on the telecube portal and not sure if this is the reason of the above. Used about 20gb so far (havent had time for netflix yet), but I think 500gb should be enough for the rest of the month.

I'll give them a go until the end of month, hopefully things will get better.

Anyone has any suggestions please let me know :)

  • What's a dynamic V4 IP? Any different from the usual Dynamic IP?

Also, with your voip service, is it coming out of the modem or the UNI-D?

Just to confirm that $10 is a one off refund right? Not $10 discount every month?

    Thanks

    • Dynamic IP = Dynamic IPv4 IP .. they're the same thing

It's voip so you need a voip device like a voip capable modem or voip phone or ata … not out of the Uni-V

The $10 is a one off credit

  • Rep can you explain the process for a fast Churn for HFC in Melbourne from MyRepublic?

How long does it take? Do I need to cancel with MyRepublic first etc.

From this comment I believe it is available:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/374020#comment-5873975

    Thanks

    • we can fast churn you in vic if you are on myrepublic .. it should complete within 24 hours. you don't need to cancel first just order with us and we'll churn the service.

      • Thanx will do

      • What's the chrun time on HFC in NSW from BuzzTelco?

        • We can't churn hfc in nsw from buzz i'm sorry .. you would need to cancel first and wait for the port to clear before we could order a new service, the expected downtime will be 1 - 2 weeks.

        • @telecube: we can't cancel as the phone line is down and buzz hasn't been able to reply to my tickets. I suppose when they disconnect me on Thursday, the activation progress can begin?

I'm on HFC buzz transferring to 100/40 telecube

        • @superjquando: Unfortunately that's probably the best solution, wait until the service drops and then let us know and we can order a new one.

        • @telecube:

I'm in the same boat, so how long will it take after the Buzz service drops, us letting you know till we get connected with you? I'm on FTTP

anywhere near 1 week is a deal breaker for me

Also, do you block any P2P sharing like buzz did recently?

          Thanks

      • I am with MyRepublic on FTTP. Would I need to cancel my service with them first or you can churn the service? how long would it normally take?
How long would this offer available for new customers for? Thanks

        • You don't need to cancel first no, with fttp we will provision the new service on the next available port on the NTD

          This offer runs until Friday

        • @telecube: OP, your service has phone line for incoming calls as well or not?

        • @Gaggy: we are a voip provider so the phone service is provided over the internet connection, you will need a voip device

        • @telecube: Thanks.

        • @Gaggy:
A voip device can be as little as an old mobile phone, running a voip client app like cSipSimple. Connect the mobile phone to your router via WiFi, so no SIM card is needed. Leave the mobile phone permanently plugged into your charger, and put the charger on a mains timer switch so it charges every day or every second day.

If you don't have an old mobile phone, Coles and Woolies regularly have low-end smartphones for $30.

Also, Telecube own SipTalk, a voip provider. Their rates are cheaper than the voip rates on the Telecube voip plan, which looks like it is designed more for business customers. You should also consider other voip providers, there's no advantage to having your NBN provider being your voip provider, unless they offer a discount. Given the recent collapse of Buzz Telco, there is a definite disadvantage to having both your NBN and your voip with the same provider, if the provider collapses you've lost both services, and may have difficulty transferring your phone number away.

        • @Russ: Thanks. I have couple of spare mobiles and I will use them for VOIP.

  • How long does it take fttn. Just signed up… Bloody buzz telecommunications.

    • normally 24 hours for an fttn transfer

      • Applied 24 hours ago… one email. No further emails. Not a good start. Hope I'm not going to regret my decision with Telecube.

  • Why you don't have 12mb deal when we click on the offer? I am with buzz on fttn…how long will it take to transfer to telecube in Sydney? What's the set-up fee? Without set-up and contact I can sign up now. But only for 12mb speed as I hardly use 50gb a month.

    • There's a 12M plan in this offer below if you want it

      https://www.telecube.com.au/internet/nbn/plans/special/08951…

      • just signed up for the plan. system deducted $1.xx to verify the card which i believe you will refund? and when will that refund be processed? thanks

        • The system refunds the payment 3 days later, it can then take a few days to be processed by the merchant banks.

      • also do i need to cancel service with buzztelco or once you connect it will automatically disconnected with buzz?

        • Normally I would say you need to cancel with the losing provider once the service is active with us but given that buzz is ceasing trading it's probably not necessary in this case.

        • @telecube: Thanks. after signing up with you guys I haven't received any email yet about when the service will start and how i can reconfigure my netcomm modem for the connection with telecube….do you normally provide those info once service gets transferred to you or before hand? do you normally send welcome email with all contract info? what about voip number… do i need to order it separately or you will assign one by default with the account?

hope you guys working today and doing changeover today so as to reduce downtime.

        • @SydBoy: You will need to enter the pppoe username/pass into your modem/router that you created when adding the service .. we don't resend that detail to you, you can find it in the secure portal in the manage section for the nbn service.

You will need to add a voip number separately if you want one, look in the services section in the portal

We won't be processing orders today, it's a public holiday. We'll start processing orders again tomorrow.

  • Very happy with Telecube 25/5 (I got in for $50/month, 1000GB) $5 less than current special.

I'd be all over the 50/20 plan if you brought back this deal:

50/20 1000GB $60/month, even just for a day, I dare you! Challenge issued.

    • No bites huh? Bummer :(

      • -1

sorry, we won't be offering those prices again unless something changes with the way nbnco price their services.

        • No worries, it was worth a shot :)

        • @Click_It:

          :-)

  • Hi rep, are there additional costs to port over my VOIP number? (From buzz telco)

    • there's a $16.50 porting charge

      • I noticed the price to be $33 when attempting to add in the porting number through services>add new>port existing number (as suggested by the support tech). Could you please clarify this

        • We add the porting charges manually and check if the account has an nbn service before adding the entry, if an nbn service exists and it's the first port on the account we will charge $16.50

  • Hi Telecube Rep,
I am with buzz as well as few of my friends. Wondering whether there is a referral program you have as I can bring one customer immediately with me to Telecube and potentially one more soon.

What's the typical evening speed on a 25Mbps FTTP connection? Is there any termination lead time if I want to switch to another provider? Does your connection support free online streaming programs and security cameras remote access?

    • I'm sorry we don't offer a referral program

Typical evening speeds for a 25/5 service would be 18 - 23 Mbps

We don't block any streaming traffic or remote camera access

  • Telecube rep, if I choose the plan with 500G of peak data, can I later change to the 1000G plan? Your website suggests only speed can be upgraded or downgraded, can the peak data also be upgraded and downgraded? If so, is there a fee?

Secondly, I have a relative whose area says "planned availability: Jan-Mar 2019". Can they sign up now, even though their area is not yet ready? The connection will be HFC, area says "build commenced", if that helps.

    • +1

you can change plan to any speed/allowance that is available at the time at no cost

you can add a service and leave details in the notes about timing if you want it activated at a later date

      • Thanks for your concise answer. I have helped my relative sign up, leaving a note as per your instruction.

We had a bit of difficulty with adding a credit card as a payment method - my relative's bank is particularly slow, the transaction won't show up in online banking for a couple of days, so we were unable to complete adding the card. In the end I paid the first month's payment using my Paypal account.

  • Telecube rep (or anyone), will the Buzztelco modem (Audio codes) work with telecube NBN?

    • if you can log into it and configure the pppoe details and disable vlan tagging it should be ok

  • I registered the whirlpool deal LOL
    no $10 Credit Back…
I send you message yesterday and you just connected my nbn just now

  • For my 50/20 M telecube trial tonight, it seems like only half speed like 25M now….LOL
the experience is worst than Buzz…..
    Anyone in NSW tried?

  • +2

I tried to call Telecube for manual verification for my account but there seems no customer service available? I kept getting thrown into an answering machine for all my calls.

    • +1

Any luck? I've tried to call as well, couldn't get through

      • message me with your details please and I'll fix it for you

        • I tried to message you yesterday but unable to. This showed up:

I called up again today, it's voicemail again.
