Telecube NBN - 100/40 1000GB $65/Mth for The First 2 Months Then $75/Mth (When Pre-Paying First 2 Months) [New Customers]

171

Ok, there has been very little interest in this offer so I'll expire it now.

I think this new one might be a little more straight forward.

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/374277

========= Cancelled ============

We're offering a $10 per month discount on top of the discounted rate, for the first 2 months when you pay for the first 2 months up front.

Please click through the offer link below or click the [Go To Deal] button on the right to go to the offer page, you need to click through one of the offers on that page to get the special pricing.

Ozbargain Offer - Click Here

Examples:
100/40 1000GB $75/mth - $130 upfront = $65/mth for the first 2 months
50/20 1000GB $65/mth - $110 upfront = $55/mth for the first 2 months

How it works: You initially pay the cost of the first 2 months at the special discounted pricing. The system will bill at the full pricing but add a credit for $20 to cover the difference. You won't need to make a further payment until the start of your third months service.

All plans include:

  • Unmetered uploads
  • Unlimited offpeak downloads
  • VoIP number and inbound calls to a voip device at no cost

Note: If you are on HFC please contact support before placing an order, in most cases we are unable to fast churn HFC services and downtime can be 1 - 2 weeks.

Conditions:

  • This offer applies to new customers only

Refunds:

  • If your service can't be delivered or if you change your mind and we haven't yet processed your order we will refund your full payment.
  • Once we have processed your order and placed it with our upstream carrier if you cancel you will pay the full month plan price and we will refund the balance.

Something tells me the complicated description will mean this deal doesn't gain the traction it should ;)

    • I think you're right, I've simplified the description .. cheers.

  • Will customers from your prior post be able to switch to this? Also your site does not specify the unlimited off-peak download limit, as of this comment's timestamp.

    • +2

The extra $20 credit isn't available to existing customers.

I'll fix the display, the plans are all unlimited offpeak.

      • Thanks for clarifying and updating it in a timely fashion!

      • Ive recently signed up, and remember reading 10TB offpeak downloads. Is 10TB~=unlimited, or are previous customers capped at 10TB.

        • +1

We aren't shaping at all in offpeak periods, all offpeak will be unlimited for all plans including existing ones.

        • @telecube:

Cheers, thanks for the clarification. I assumed this was the case, although to me 10TB a month offpeak would be by far "unlimited" enough anyway :)

      • +1

New customers should be in title as well.

  • Do you use CG-NAT for ipv4?

    • CGNAT by default but dynamic IPv4 is a free addon in the portal

      • +2

Thanks. I'll need external connectivity to check up on my Linux torrents remotely. Probably a good system having it as a free add-on, so "mum and dad" users don't needlessly hog one

        • +4

Yep .. the majority of users don't need a public ip but it's there for those who do at no extra cost.

  • +6

Shocking invoicing system. But pings and peak usage excellent !!

    • +2

Where are you pinging to? Since I started using Telecube from Friday, pinging to Brisbane servers have been really high at over 90ms, but pinging Melbourne servers was under 40. I was getting under 20 with my previous provider. And congestion is ridiculous, over the weekend I was getting below 25mbps at 11am, when my node is right outside the house and get 108mbps sync. 4th day using Telecube and I am not satisfied with their service and no good first impression.

      • +2

We have had an outage in the Brisbane POP which is being resolved today, I am confident from this afternoon/evening your ping times will improve.

        Apologies again for the inconvenience.

        • +1

Yesterday after midnight you had said that I should be getting better speeds, it has never improved and my pings are still very high.

I also emailed your support email address requesting a refund and cancellation of service.

        • @mangolassi: We are just bringing Brisbane back online now .. would you reboot please and test again?

I'll be keen to hear your results.

Also please message me the ticket details and I'll make sure it is handled promptly

        • +4

@telecube: Pings have slightly improved to 40ms and currently getting 50mbps/down which is half of what I should be getting, but nowhere close to what I should be getting. I will PM you shortly.

        • @mangolassi: Just connected with AussieBB today and getting a way better service now than compared to Telecube. Pings to Brisbane are below 20ms and speeds are currently at 98mbps/down. Another mate is still with Telecube and is also still having the exact same trouble to what I was having. He will also be seeking a refund and jumping over to another provider.

      • What are u pinging ? Wouldn’t mind testing it from Aussie BB. My ping is always 6ms on speedtests, wouldn’t mind knowing what it is pinging different servers

      • Right with you. Moved from "budget" provider MyRepublic to paying more and receiving considerably worse connection and much more fluctuating. Been told "Brisbane POP having issues" since day one with no changes since.Very much regret decision but way too busy to do anything about it right now.

        • Hmm I'm waiting for fast churn before moving but this isn't filling me with confidence…

Do we still have to pay for the setup fee?

    • +2

Your total initial payment will be for the first 2 months at the $10/mth off the discounted plan price.

If you choose the 100/40 1000GB plan your initial payment is $65 x 2 = $130 up front then $75/mth from the 3rd month onwards.

      • can you upgrade/downgrade without any extra fee?

        • you can yes, a maximum of once per calendar month.

        • @telecube: Thank you

        • +1

          @telecube:

With the upgrade/downgrade option, your website suggests only speed can be upgraded or downgraded. What if I want to upgrade to a plan at the same speed, but with more data?

      • +2

Set up fee yes or no? It says it’s $50.

        • -1

Calling it a setup fee is the only way the system will handle the $20 credit back and the 2 months up front, if you just want to pay the discounted rate and no upfront payment you can use this link below.

          https://www.telecube.com.au/internet/nbn/plans/special/08951…

        • @telecube: Does that mean for the 100/40 1000GB plan the initial payment is $65 x 2 = $130 plus $55 setup fee, then $75/month from the third month onwards?

        • -1

          @cker:

          Nope, you'll pay $75 + $55 = $130 which will cover the first 2 months @ $65/mth

You don't have to pay anything again until the start of the 3rd month.

        • @telecube:

Calling it a setup fee is the only way the system will handle the $20 credit back and the 2 months up front, if you just want to pay the discounted rate and no upfront payment you can use this link below.

Discounted rate? By discount, you mean no setup fee? The rate is still $75 a month.

        • -1

@lostn: The first 2 months are discounted to $65 on the 100/40 1000GB plan with the $130 upfront payment which covers the first 2 months. Nothing to pay again until the start of the 3rd month.

The third month and on is $75/mth

        • @telecube:

          ugh.

You posted this link and called it a discounted plan without the up front payment. I want to know what is the difference between the two plans. If they're the same, why should anyone pay upfront for 2 months?

        • -1

@lostn: You get the first 2 months of the plan you choose at a further $10/mth discount by paying up front.

This link below will let you get the discounted pricing and just pay the first month

          https://www.telecube.com.au/internet/nbn/plans/special/08951…

        • @telecube:

So you still save $20 using that link? Or just $10?

Also when you say 'discounted pricing', you mean discounted compared to what? How much is the non-discounted pricing?

        • -1

@lostn: You save an extra $10/mth for 2 months ($20) off the discounted pricing with this offer

  • My telecube internet started today.. paying 75$ pmonth for same deal. Any chance that i can get this deal?
I signed up from last ozbargain deal with no setup fee.

    • I'm sorry this new offer is only available to new customers. The offer is the same as the $75/mth one you are on but with a 2 month credit back of $10/mth

      • What.. i started the service today. Why cant i get that discount while someone can get it. (Below comment) That much you can help me..

        • New customers are people who haven't signed up yet. Hardly fair, but that's life.

Think of it like buying an item for what you felt was a good price, and then the price goes down the next day on another sale. I think most us here are familiar with that feeling.

    • +4

Sorry, but you're an old customer.

seemed to work out for this guy

      • Different scenario.. This guy's service doesn't start till June, since he has not yet received service yet he should be entitled to any changes as he has a right to ask for a refund before the service start date if he chooses to.

  • +1

Not a good deal compared to the previous ones where setup fee (~$45) was waived.

    • +3

There's essentially no setup fee here, you're just paying for 2 months up front at a further $10 discount to the already discounted price.

You don't make any further payments until the start of your 3rd month.

      • +2

Thanks for clarifying however the offer page does seem to indicate a set up fee?

  • +3

    Speed test server for Perth?

    • Also interested to know this and the ping. Anyone with them from Perth?

      • +2

        8ms
Getting up to about 79Mbps out of my ~84Mbps FttN connection. So I think it's going as fast as my connection can handle. During peak it's about 60-70Mbps.

    • +1

      See here

  • NBN just became active in my apartment building last week and is available through TPG and iiNet. Can I simply purchase a modem and sign up to Telecube? Or is it more complex than that? Thanks - not tech savvy at all!

    • It should be pretty straight forward, we can supply a preconfigured Netcomm NF18ACV for $149 delivered, you can leave notes about it when adding the service.

  • Gawd, just set a deal and stick to it for more than a month or two! All you do is piss off people that have just signed up. You seem to be just playing with the details and haven't changed the deals all that much for ages. What are you playing at? Trying to find the 'lure' that brings in the most punters?

    • Settle down dude lol. Not all ISPs even offer decent sales so be thankful Telecube even do that. I say this as someone who would benefit greatly if this deal with last another week.

    • +2

Sounds like they want money upfront, even if it’s $20 less than their regular price.

      • +1

        The Tesla model.

  • Hi Rep,

Im currently with AussieBB. If i sign up with you guys do i have to cancel with AussieBB and will i have to pay out the remaining month with AussieBB

    • You'll have to talk to abb about that, perhaps other abb users can comment.

We don't contact them to cancel on your behalf, you would need to do that

      • It looks like i have to give 30 days notice. So could i sign up now for a future date?

        • Not 30 days notice, but if you want to save your money, cancel on the last day of the 30 day period.

        • you can yes, include details of the timing in the notes when you are adding the service.

  • What is off peak times?

    • Midnight to 7am

      • Is that always the local time, including when on daylight saving?

  • I signed up from Aussie BB. They just stopped the acct when I contacted them the day of the churn to telecube. There have been a few more dropouts with TC but the overall service has been good, even if the VoIP setup was annoying.

    • HFC?

    • what was annoying about the VoIP setup?

      • +2

        everything

  • I signed up a couple weeks ago as a new customer but for a future date in June. Can I switch to this billing method to save $20?

    • +1

If you want to add the extra funds to your account and message me I will add the credit for you.

  • I'm on HFC with MyRepublic, Melb area. Can you do transfers or have to wait?

    • We can fast churn HFC from myrepublic in vic yes.

      • But not in QLD?

        • nope only in vic at the moment .. in Q you will need to cancel first and wait for the port to clear. it could be a 2 week downtime.

      • will the time taken to churn and port be decided entirely by you, or does the current RSP have influence over it? Do they need to authorize a transfer before it can go through? The process took a long time the last time I did this, and TPG dragged it out, while requiring me to continue paying until the transfer was completed.

        • The current rsp doesn't need to authorise the transfer.

Delays for us are generally caused by our carrier provisioning or nbn.

        • @telecube: what about for porting the number for VOIP?

        • @lostn: porting the voip number can be held up by the losing carrier but it's not common.

  • How do I cancel service…
Emailed since Friday and I've called 5 times today from 10am, 1pm, and 5pm and keep getting the dumb voicemail when selecting (2)Accounts.

Im in a rush because rollover date is on the 26th (3 more days) and I have $69 credit in there.

    • If you've emailed support to cancel please message me the ticket number.

If you haven't please email support and request to cancel.

      • Thanks!

  • I think I'm going to take up your offer, though I have a strong feeling you're going to sweeten the offer slightly in the coming weeks or days even, and it will be for new customers only. It's what you've been doing.

    • It's very unlikely the monthly cost will drop, it has increased from the early offers.

I don't know what we'll do as far as signup incentives go but the $20 credit for paying the second month up front at the start with this current offer is decent.

From our point of view it's a good way to incentivise people to stay on through that second month and generally any issues are sorted out by then and the customer is happy.

  • I'm already on nbn network, what are your activation time-frame once order is placed?

    • We process orders through the business day then depending on the service type it will normally take 24 hours to transfer across.

HFC is the problem one for us at the moment.

      • Can you elaborate on why hfc is problematic? (Trying to understand more about my situation, thanks)

        • We currently aren't able to churn HFC with Vocus who is our primary provider. We are expecting that to change next month.

      • Thanks. I'm on FTTN, so I should be able to move over within 24 hours? and is there any downtime while I'm moved/transferred from my current RSP to Telecube?

And is there any specific modem requirements?

  • +1

I've been with Telecube since August 2017 on HFC in Nunawading, VIC. I consistently get 93/37 at all hours of the day. Congestion, if it occurs, is dealt with quickly. The main mode of support is email so keep that in mind (especially if you can't access email without your Telecube connection).

  • Hi, I have to say I had a very frustrated experience so far. I signed up a month ago and speed is very inconsistent. I am on 50/20 plan and sometimes you can barely watch youtube without buffering and sometimes the speed is good. Hopefully this get resolved soon as I have emailed you guys, otherwise I will have to move to different provider.

    • can you message me the ticket number please and i'll look into it for you.

      • I don't have a ticket number, I emailed [email protected] regarding the issue. My Customer ID: 1000617812 if that helps. Thanks

  • Kogan is offering 50mbps unlimited for 58 now. Why sould I take this?

    • I can't answer that, I don't know anything about Kogan or their network.
