    And……Snap!

2018-05-04 13:58:45 An upstream carrier is experiencing issues with their NBN provisioning systems.
As a result, we're currently unable to process many new NBN orders and some speed changes for existing services.

This issue will not affect the uptime of existing active NBN services.

Customers that wish to sign up to Telecube for NBN are still welcome to do so, but there will be delays in processing orders.

    We apologise for the inconvenience.

You can check for status updates here…

    https://telecube.io/event-detail.php?id=159

    • Provisioning Delays

      Should be added to OP

    • +2

it resolved just now .. we'll be pushing through the orders tonight

      • Thanks for the update and the effort to push orders through.

  • I have been using telstra nbn FTTN with telstra modem.
If I change to TC provider, can I use current telstra modem or buy another modem?

    • if it's not locked you can use it with us too

  • It's time for me to switch. What do i do for a modem?

    1) I'm used to having configurable modems like an archer d9, billion, etc
    2) I want an all in one unit, I'm not having multiple devices causing me network headaches ever again

Can I pay now and defer a few weeks, because I'm going traveling, so if there's much downtime then it's better to have it while I'm away for 10 days.. The wife also won't complain then :)

    • we're byo modem so you can get one that suits you

you can add a service now and leave instructions in the notes for the timing you want with activation of the service

  • Hi Rep, I introduced Telecube to my brother a few days ago and he has joined $75 100/40 with $49 setup fee since yesterday. Now he looks unhappy with me? Any suggestions for my brotherhood? Thanks

    • where did he find that? i didn't think we had the special and setup fee anywhere .. he can change to this offer now if he wants to

      • Oh thanks for that. I guess he didn’t search a special deal but just joined that from Telecube website.

  • Do they advertise the typical evening speeds? Anyone has any ideas about it?

    • +2

      typically 70-90M on 100/40, 35-45 on 50/20, 18-22 on 25/5 and 8-10 on 12/1

      • Can confirm this is true. Currently getting 70 on a 100/40 FTTP connection.

    • I've had 92-93/36-37 24/7 for the past 3 months.

  • Any news on an Adelaide POP with Telecube?

I really wish Telecube would offer a VOIP add-on like TPG/Exetel do where for $10 you get Unlimited Local, National, Mobile calls included with Caller-Id, etc included. In the case of Exetel they also include 1300 numbers and some International locations.

I know there are various free email services however do Telecube offer any email addresses with a NBN service?

    • no adelaide pop yet, probably still a few months away i'd say, unlikely to be before July

i don't think we would offer a bundled plan, we are payg

sorry, no smtp service either .. gmail is your best option i think

  • This deal makes me sad as for some weird reason even though my suburb has been in build commence for over 2 months, the RFS date has been pushed back 12-18 months. And it's still going to be FTTN. And my node has been installed about 300m away.

    • Not sure if this helps any but my node is 2 houses down (100m), my pillar is 11 houses down meaning fibre is 100m away yet from the node copper runs back to the pillar then back to me so about 450m.

A guy 18 houses away in the other direction from the node gets a better connection than me.

Though I can get get over 50/20 so I'm happy enough.

You're right though, with such a delay it's frustrating you're not getting FTTC

      • Wow that would be frustrating to hell :/

Luckily for me I checked with DBYB and the pillar is right next to the Node and I'm on the same side of the street as it is so have seen that my copper is running directly to that pillar then the Node so should be all good with distance.

Wouldn't mind it too much if we were changing to FTTC, as I know there's an issue with the copper about 120m from my place (last Telstra guy out said they'll just keep patching it as Telstra won't pay to fix the issue properly as it's NBN's problem soon).

Just annoyed that the Node's are all installed all around the suburb but somehow it has been delated over a year!

        • Yeah there is lots of that "this copper mess will be NBN's problem soon" attitude going around. There was heaps of problematic copper across the road from me (from a different pillar), they got lucky and after multiple call outs almost daily, Telstra finally ponied up just weeks before NBN arrived. Lucky devils now they have a really clean line.

  • I'd like to signup today but seems like no one in office now. Do I need to wait till Monday for signup?
I have been using Telstra NBN FTTP in SA, normally how long does it take to connect the service?

    • the signup is all done online .. please click through the offer link and follow the prompts

we will be processing orders tonight and tomorrow

fttp will normally provision within 24 hours

      • Thanks for verifying my account. Another problem, I Can't log in with my account because I don't know my password so I tried to reset my password but it doesn't work the link what I received email. How can I know my password?

        • when you signup you will get a temp password .. if you lost that then you can signup again

        • @telecube: Thanks, I signed up again. Could you please verify my account again?

        • @Batman2258: you'll need to contact support if your are being asked for manual verification

  • Hi OP,

What's the go for a newly built house? Is there a connection / setup fee? Looking at 100Mbps plan. Also how long does it take in such a case to get the connection up n running in Brisbane?

    • there's likely to be a new development fee of $300 if there's never been a phone or internet there before

      • that $300 fee is from nbn not telecube, isp's just pass it on.

      • Do you know approx how long it takes for NBN to be provisioned for new connection?

        • It depends on your service type, message me your address and i can tell you

  • Hey rep,
I was told I could get connected by end of business day today and previously you said orders were going to be pumping through tonight. I haven't had net since buzz went down and was wondering how likely I would get my service connected tonight ? Does telecube also set up new connections over weekends.
    Thanks

    • message me your details please

  • “Only download data is included in the data usage.” Is this normal with others too? I always thought it’s both upload+download

    • Some do, some don't.

    • +3

we're making all plans unlimited offpeak and unmetered uploads .. all existing plans included

      • It saves Toran having to count data on night shift.

        • :-D

  • Can I swap from an existing Siptalk NBN plan to one of these offers? And without incurring a setup fee?

    • yes .. you'll need to email support first though please and we will need to move you to a telecube account .. create a telecube account and email support please

  • +1

Great! Just signed up after losing internet From buzztelco

  • Hi John, does these pricings apply to existing Siptalk customer?

    • not siptalk only telecube

  • Hi rep,
Would you know how long it would take to churn from optus on HFC?
Also can anyone comment on having a landline number with telecube?
    Thanks

    • if you're in vic on nbn hfc through optus we could churn you in 1 - 3 days

  • +1

Only 1-2 weeks for HFC I thought it was on hold for another 6 months or something…

    • If you currently have HFC you can change providers. The hold refers to new HFC connections.

  • Wow Nbn starting to get a great price range. paying $80 for 100/40 on Telstra with 1000gb (with included modem). However we only use around 500gb so the plan @$65 very tempting. Will look into it once my contract is up.

  • Hi Op
I signed up for 50/20 $65 plan a few days ago. My service is scheduled to be connected around 10 June.
How do I switch to $60/pm?
    Thanks

    • +1

click through the link and choose the green button [change to this plan]

      • Thanks, it was such an easy process to make changes.

  • How long would this offer stand?

    • until midnight on the 8th May currently

  • Hi rep, say my billing cycle is 25th every month, when should I request the service to be connected? Thanks

    • sorry i don't understand, your billing cycle will be whatever day your service goes live

      • Sorry, I should've been clearer. My current provider billing cycle is 25th of each month. If I am changing my provider to TC, when should I request the service to be connected to ensure there is no down time service at home? Please advise. Thanks

        • generally it's a good idea to give a little extra time to allow for unexpected delays, say a week

arrange the new service to be connected a week before the expiry of your current provider.

this obviously means there's is extra (potentially wasted) cost but the tradeoff is less risk of downtime.

if you try to transfer on the same day that your current plan ends and there's delays you could be up for a full month of service on 2 providers or face downtime if you cancel the old one and the new service isn't provisioned yet.

this is just my conservative advice, lots of people schedule the new service for the same day as the old one ends and it works out fine, for me personally if I am in the same position I prefer to leave a bit of wiggle room

Hmm seems a bit slow for 100/40
Hi Rep, can you please advise if the speed is normal for 100/40?

    Thanks

    • test again with a wired connection to your router and not wifi please

  • *Glebe NSW

  • Hi rep,
How long it would take to churn from Aussie Broadband on HFC please?

    • we can't churn from abb hfc sorry, you would need to cancel first and wait for the port to clear before we could order .. it would mean a downtime of 3 days to 2 weeks unfortunately

      • Thanks. Why is it that you can't fast churn from ABB?

      • Also, once the port is cleared, what happens that takes 3 days to 2 weeks please?

        • it's a limitation of our upstream carrier, they don't have hfc implemented in their provisioning platform yet, hopefully by the end of this month

        • @telecube:

Thanks again. I note your reply, however I still don't understand what is actually happening during those 3 days to 2 weeks? I'm gathering that it is basically a sit and wait period. I appreciate your prompt responses and I am in no way having a go at Telecube here. I'm genuinely trying to understand, as clearly as possible, what is happening that can take that long.

        • @artxo: once your service is disconnected you will be without internet until we can reconnect it, we submit the request to our upstream carrier and wait .. I don't know exactly what or why it takes so long I'm sorry.

        • @telecube:

Thank you for your open and direct answer. I do appreciate that and I think others here will too.

  • Hi rep,
I purchased the 1000gb 100/40 plan yesterday midday and was told I'd be connected by the evening or max within 24 hours. And I haven't even heard back yet.

    • we had delays in provisioning yesterday but all orders were processed last night .. message me your details and i'll have a look

      • Unfortunately I can't message you because my account is new. But I left a message on the telecube website.

        • please use the live chat, it's open now

      • Mine still hasn't been connected? I pm'd you my ID last night.

        • I've just been told by their live chat that "there was a problem with that appointment yesterday, they've been notified of a new one and they'll let me know when they have more info"

No idea what that meant and didn't make any sense. I just hope they keep their promise of connecting me within 24 hours after a swift purchase of their plan. My family and I have been without internet for 4 days now and the kids need to do their assignments.

        • @bhaid18: we had issues with provisioning yesterday and processed all the orders last night

i don't think that's related to you being without internet for 4 days though, when did you sign up with us?

        • please contact support .. it's not something i can help you with here

        • @bhaid18:
Well so far I've been mislead twice but they seem to communicate well so I'm not worried:)

        • @telecube:
Sorry mate no the 4 days without internet isn't related to you, we were disconnected from the previous ISP because they upped their prices.
I am now thinking of reconnecting with them again though just because my household needs internet and telecube didn't keep their promise of connecting me within 24 hours.
Can I cancel my application and get a refund

        • @bhaid18: yep, if we haven't already ordered the service we can cancel your order and refund. if we have already placed the order we get charged a $25 withdrawal fee, you would need to cover that

        • @telecube:
Hi rep, my service is still not activated. I just want internet already please.

  • Hi Rep,
I've purchased 500gb 50/20 plan I'm using Telstra NBN. Is it fine that I cancel Telstra account after Telecube service connected?

    • yep, you need to cancel your old provider after connected to us to ensure they don't keep billing you

  • Am I supposed to reset the router for it to go 100/40? Still is 50/20. Changed last night.

    • you do need to reconnect yes

      • Still no speed bump for me yet. Upgraded from 25/5 to 50/20 yesterday morning. Rebooted modem again just now.

        • contact support please

        • @telecube:

Yeah I just did. Was told it's been submitted but not processed by the carrier. Just going to be a waiting game. Hopefully not too long left to wait.

  • Update - jumped on live chat with Corey on their website to find out what's happening to the change from 50/20 to 100/40.

"It looks the speed change is currently in progress, there were some provisioning issues yesterday that caused delays for new services and speed changes so its not likely the change to take effect until Monday"

    When asked further

"We apologies for the inconveniences this is a rare situation to be in, in most cases the carrier only puts through speed changes during the business days but there still is a possibility it can still go through as the change was placed early yesterday, i wouldn't count on it though."

So don't get too excited yet if you are hoping to have faster connection this weekend.

    • Yeah I'm thinking it'll be actioned by the time I get home from work Monday, I doubt it'll be any sooner.

  • Any chance that this deal is going to be extended? I have two services, one due to a previous plan change on 9/4/18 and the other due to NBN installation on 9/5/18, that that will miss this deal by a day.

    • You can register now and leave a note on the system when to connect you
      Good luck

  • Hi @telecube,

I have bought a new property in Marsden Park NSW and is likely to settle in the property mid-end of June. Connection will be FTTP. Can I still get this offer? If so, how? Also, can you please confirm if download during off-peak is unlimited (wont be charged from the 1000gb I may have)? What are the peak and off-peak times

    • +1

Off peak is midnight until 7am as calculated by the POP you connect to.

  • Hey rep,

I was just wondering why my service isn't activated? Is there anything you can do to assist please?

  • Is it possible to pre-order this?
My expected Ready for Service date is 11th May, not that I really believe this date but I'd like to get everything in place to flip over ASAP after it's available.

    • Yes. Pay for the service. Add notes stating when your RFS is scheduled.

    • you can, when you're adding the service just include instructions in the notes about the timing you want

  • We're on FTTN and getting decent speed on our current 100/40 plan with Internode (approx 95/38). Is it likely I will experience similar speeds with Telecube? We're in Goulburn NSW if it helps.

    • To local servers it is very likely.
