Back again for this very cheap price :) Seemed very popular last time it was posted but that was only for 1 day, this one ends tomorrow so gives you a bit more time to choose. Awesome to combine with the discounted eBay gift card deal recently.

Could find heaps of stock in most states, price match elsewhere if it's easy for you. It's also $996 @ JB Hi-Fi & $998 @ Sony.

  • Anyone picked it up yet? Will it fit in a medium SUV (CX5)?

    • It should, just. It fit in my Nissan Murano which is a medium 5-seat SUV, without too many issues

      • Did it fit vertically?

    • +1

It fitted in our Nissan X-Trail with the back seats down. Slid in vertically on an angle, wouldn’t go in any other way.

  • I am waiting waiting and waiting for two weeks now but feel forever. Damn delivery…

  • +1

Just bought one and receive a call within an hour to schedule delivery for Monday! Thanks OP, have been deliberating and researching this since the last deal.

  • +2

Thanks OP just bought one after weeks of confusion. Thanks also to 'Hybroid'.

  • Prefer my plasma , but my 5yr old will like this for his PlayStation.

    • haha, i'm sure your opinion will change once you get it lmao. I'm still using a 8-9 year old high end sony. I'd rather go for one of sony's high end ones, but this is tremendous value.

  • so tempted……

  • +1

Very tempted but really want a 70 inch screen or more. Worth waiting and saving up for me personally but I can see this as a great tv for a mini lounge room or something

  • Hey question. For the non hardcore TV person.
We've ordered this and waiting for it come.

What's the best way to test the quality of the TV. Ie show it at its best?

    Eg kids animation blu ray?
    Blu ray action movie?

For the record. We jst watch downloaded movies and free to air tv

Press the options button on remote and change picture mode to Vivid. The rest can be left alone or feel free to play around to suit your liking.

      • Is this like a factory demonstration?

Just trying to see what our TV can do. And what's the best way to get the best out of it

        • I think you shouldn't get too concerned with the tv - any of the big brands like Sony, Samsung, Panasonic, LG, etc. should have great quality out of the box.

Cinema mode for movies and Standard mode for tv if you care, otherwise you'll be down a rabbit hole trying to find the sweet spot (e.g. in terms of room lighting, viewing angles, seating distance, sound output, etc.).

However, whatever you do, avoid Vivid mode at all costs. You are right that it is a mode intended for the shop floor only.

        • @brotherrfranciz:
we came from a 10 yr old plasma and i think was 1366x768 resoluton

and we only watched downloaded SD films,

but now we have this new tv, we are definitely going to try and see how good it can be

    • +1

Altered Carbon on Netflix is great to show off 4k HDR.

    • Yes I agree about Netflix - one of the few places in Australia to get good, affordable and original 4K HDR content.

Regarding bluray, Planet Earth is one of the common/renowned ones, and any of the Pixar movies are great too.

  • Home maker centre Adelaide jbhifi only has the display unit remaining in store but still had a couple at the warehouse. They price matched without any question or even checking for proof.

  • Nice TV.

  • -1

Sony do make a nice TV, the 9000E (I wouldnt buy any model lower than this)

    • +1

I’m assuming that’s at a higher price point.?

Just saw it on here for $998
If the tgg deal sells out

    • nice find. possibly free delivery via sony store

  • Any owners have some settings to get HDR on PS4 looking good on this TV?

For me at the moment, things looks quite dull :(

    • For what it's worth, playing around with the settings, I found boosting the Colour setting up from 50 to around 85 seemed to help quite a bit

  • Purchased, thanks op! I went with Sony direct, as I am hoping to get it sooner than the GC ebay. It worked out to be only $3 more expensive going direct as I required postage and Sony are offering postage for free.

    • How do I get free delivery?
Mine shows a charge of $24

      • +1

You have to create an account on the Sony site, it’s free and available during checkout. Once you have an account postage goes down to zero.

        • thank you

        • Exactly the answer I was looking for! Thanks

  • Ordered yesterday and got a call this morning for delivery

    • +1

ditto……they will be delivering on Tuesday. Can't wait to set it up.

  • +1

Missed last time. Ordered this morning and got a phone call from The Good Guys for delivery tomorrow.

  • Lovely Picture
18 on back order at Geelong Good Guys

Chick freaked out when she saw the price

  • Any ozbargain suggestions for a wall mount to go with this?

  • Link seem to be not available anymore?

  • I'm after a TV with similar features, but would preferably like a smaller TV, say 45-50". Any recommendations?

  • a bit late, but anyone know if a sale like this is going to come up again, planning on ordering prior to moving houses, as a house warming gift to myself.

    Thanks
