Like Xiaomi A1 on Clear's deal (32GB version) but want a bigger screen? Here's a deal for the Redmi 5 Plus - just like member Xev's said - "You can do a lot with an extra half inch.", certainly wise words from a married man 👍😂.

Beat all pretty much a lot of previous deals - member urbancartel won, again :(

  • Corning Gorilla Glass
  • Hybrid Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by)
  • Snapdragon 625 processor
  • 4GB RAM
  • 64GB ROM
  • No B28. No NFC
  • FM radio
  • Confirmed notification LED

I think Catch sells the same phone for $20 extra

    • +5

$20 for local warranty is good

      • Is it really?

Someone should answer this, but Catch is just advertising for Techwarehouse, which is DWI.

        • At least fast shipping from DWI, as they use DHL

    • +13

Buy Catch gift cards at 20% off from Woolworths tomorrow, it would bring out of pocket cost down to $199.20 including shipping.

      This is cheapest option yet

      • +3

great find mate, thank you for saving my $49. I just ordered from catch, for $200 with Australian warranty is not a bad deal at all.

      • +2

        GENIUS - well done @OzSikh.

Well, unless Catch removes the phone from their site when the 20% cards are available

          Gift card offer starts today

I have this phone and it’s a great bang for the buck phone with near 2 day battery life. I would also consider the new version which uses the snapdragon 636 over the 625, has improved cameras and Oreo support.

    • What is the new version called..? Is it the 5 pro?

  • I didn’t know there was a Redmi 5 and Redmi note 5…

  • +1

    nice model.
    the phone isnt bad either.

  • +2

What d hell again…. no deal for Redmi Note 5 Pro….will wait …

    • I waited long enough and got ulefone power 3s.

    • From what I can find, the Redmi Note 5 pro with Snapdragon 636 processor isn't even released yet.
EDIT - apparently it is , it's just sold in batches by Mi.com… not by other sites…

Mi.com is doing preorders until or maybe on?) May 25th, 2018…

      • I got screwed over in the aliexpress anniversary sale because of this.

Bought it from the 'official' Xiaomi store. Turns out there was no stock, didn't tell me for a week after…said there'd be stock shortly…anyway strung me along and I'm still waiting. The phone left singapore only 4 days ago.

Absolutely pathetic service, selling an item that hasn't even been released.

I was tossing up between this and the mi a1….it's gone on sale like 3 times while I've been waiting.

  • Hows the camera compared to A1 or the Mix2?

    • +3

Why don’t you just do a quick google search to find the answer. is it really hard ??

Do you really think someone would have all three phones to give you one line answer !!

      • +2

In all fairness,…he did say Or not And, so wants a comparison between the Redmi 5 Plus and A1, OR Redmi 5 Plus and Mix2.

If someone happens to have all 3 that would just be a lucky bonus I'd say, or maybe someone else and a friend/family member who has one of the two phones. I agree that google would generally be quicker to get these types of answers, but is this not a site/blog/forum where people ask questions/people happily answer questions and clarify things to everyone's benefit.

    • I don't know compared to - but the photos for me have been great. Low light is average, but in good light and with a steady hand the photo quality is more than acceptable. Don't expect S9 or Iphone x levels, we're talking a $230 smartphone, but they are at least on par with an S7 in the right conditions.

    • Apparently marginally better than the A1.

is this not a site/blog/forum where people ask questions

He should have posted his question in Forum Section, then.

  • Are there any decent B28 phones in this price range? Unfortunately I need it and the Mi Mix 2 is double the price to get it.

  • This is the everyday price on Aliexpress. Not a deal.

    • Link?

Hop on the app or the website and search for "redmi 5 plus 64gb" you'll find them as cheap as $223 delivered.
