    thks

grabbed two of the cream radios (has stereo speakers) and one of the smaller mono radios.

been wanting the heritage 2 for years, but was always a $400 radio….now I will have one in the kitchen and one in the study.

these aren't jut a dab radio, they also have internet radio which is harder to get in a standalone appliance.

    • Does Google Home and Echo can also act as wifi radio ?

      • +5

Yes. That's the best part of my Google home. I just tell it to play a station and it does it for me.

    • What's the difference between the two digital radio plus wifi?

      • +1

one has 2 speakers and is stereo the other has only one speaker and is mono

  • suggest waiting until the next 20% off sale.

    • +6

I doubt they will still be in stock. Have a feeling Bush products wont be around much longer

      • +6

        What about Trump products?

…in the matter of Bush Australia Pty Ltd (In Liquidation) Due to Cessation of Operations in Australia.

        • +1

not surprised, they were never amongst the cheap category on the shelf for radios, reality is a speaker dock and old had me down iphone or android would do similar function though not as convenient as an appliance radio.

the heritage ii was a $400 radio that should have cost $200.

kogan used to do dab internet radios about 6 years ago with their own brand and they were $150 ….still have 2 and they are great.

  • +1

    Nice.

  • +4

Heritage 2 is brilliant. Sound quality is as good as the much more expensive Sangean DDR66. Pricing too good to resist. Bought another. The DAB adaptor works well too and great price. Response to remote can be a bit slow, but great affordable way to add DAB to your high end analog system. Screen is useful.

    • Hi Sammyboy which one of the heritage would you recommend? General use only. Thanks

  • +8

I’m ashamed. I forgot to add the code. I hang my head.

    • +4

Ahhh crap I just did the same thing AFTER I read your comment. I hate myself.

      • After I forgot I consoled myself in that it was only a few bucks; so, don’t be too hard on yourself, it’s only a few bucks. Though some part of me feels unworthy of OzBargainhood.

Also, I ah, well I kinda feel better thinking I’m not the only one who does these things, and I think that kinda makes me a shitty person. :/

        • +1

You at least went via a cashback site though, right?

        • +1

@donga100: Uh. I’ll defer to Homer, the sage. ‘I’m not gonna lie to you Marge, so long!’

I, uh. Crap. Okay, next purchase, I’m all over it.

    • +1

i forgot to check if there was still a code ….loaded cart and checked out before they would sell out was goal …..surprised nobody bought the lot for ebay resell …… they used to go for $230 on ebay used or refurb .

  • +3

Don't mind a bit of the old bush

    • George or Kate?

      • +7

I'd say Barb, but the deal has expired.

  • Damn. I had the Heritage II in my shopping cart and it was sold out before I could complete checkout.

  • Bush Heritage P1 Digital Radio + WiFi (Cream) Is good price too!

  • +3

Probably discounted because of echo spot and similar google products coming soon. I don’t expect these will be made much longer. It’s a shame Logitech stopped making the Squeezebox - one of my favourite all-time bits of home tech.

    • +1

I have 2 of them. Brilliant radios

    • I have a squeezebox and a squeezebox boom. Excellent products.

    • yeah and they work if no internet as they are also dab radio …with google and dot no internet no radio.

  • +1

Why not just use your phone?

    • +1

      Because this sounds heaps better?

Also, not many phones have DAB functionality so there's that.

      • i dunno i found that echo is much convenient to use.

    • +3

if using your phone you also need a dock, and i’d it rings or you need to text you then need to undock it.

a bit like why watch netflix or stored movies on a tv when you can watch it on a phone….. i have an android tv box and logitech k400 remote keyboard.

phones can do a lot of things, but they they don’t always do them in the best way possible…. e.g as a bike computer phone does a lot of things but it’s a problem when it rains my magellan is water proof and drop / shock proof, and my phone stays charged on long rides if i need my phone.

my son uses his phone for everything, and when i try and call him it’s flat ….we drive in the car he is always having to charge it ….. my phone gets charged every 2-3 days, i never use the gps as it sucks up the battery, PC and tablet are my go to devices when at home ….android tv box for home entertainment use.

Bought a P1. +1 for a battery. Makes it a bit more flexible. Will review on arrival.

    • +2

      Arrived today.

It's pretty nice in terms of build quality / finish. Looks very nice compared to most ugly radios out there. Even that high end Sangean deal from a little while ago that I missed out on (Kogan cancelled mine :(!), this radio looks much nicer than that sitting in the house.

Interface is also good. I thought I would use this primarily on DAB, but the internet radio function is so good, no reception issues, plus it comes pre-tuned with an endless amount of stations, and the categories and how you browse them is pretty easy to do. I really like having an independent unit beyond having to tether to my phone or tie up a home speaker like my Google Home.

The sound quality… maybe a little bit less than I was expected. I suppose the non-battery version is a bit beefier perhaps? It's certainly on par with any
decent bluetooth wireless speaker, and far superior to my mini Google Home. For the most part, I tend to use radio as an ambiance thing, in the background, and it gets loud enough without distortion that it would still be suitable with large groups over. For a proper musical experience, I'd stick to better speakers or headphones.

Overall, pretty darn pleased for the price paid.

      • Thanks for the review!

      • Received today, Very impressed by the big color screen

  • +1

Thanks OP, also forgot to use code DOH

    • +1

      I thought it was PULL5 ;)

      (exits stage left)

  • Shame the clock radio doesn't have AM.

    • -4

Are you also upset computers don't come with floppy drives any more?

      • +1

Lot of am channels transitioned to digital.

        • +2

reception can be a problem with dab and AM will even works with a coat hanger or piece of wire out the window as aerial …. dab can be a pain if you can’t get a strong enough signal ….. i run mine through powered antenna amp for fm and tv.

if you drive in the country ….AM is all you get in some areas long after FM has dropped out.

      • +1

I live in a regional area and the only reception is one FM station and a couple of AM.

So don't assume the world revolves around you.

        • -1

Then why are you buying a digital radio???

(BTW, nothing at all to do with me.)

        • @McFly:

Because I need a decent clock radio and this is cheap.

Plus it also supports FM, just a shame it doesn't support AM.

And has NFC, Bluetooth and USB.

  • Missed out on the Bush Heritage 11. Brother's birthday coming up, he would of loved that one.

    • I have one like this, There are digital radio, Bluetooth speakers, network radio, alarm clock function is enough for me.

  • +2

Thanks OP. Ordered the alarm clock and the smart audio adapter. New bush setting complete.

  • +1

BEWARE OF GRAYSONLINE!!! IMHO They are a bunch of lying unscrupulous criminals!!!

  • I'm considering buying the Bush Party Speaker, does anyone have any thoughts? Any reason why/why not buy?

  • How's the sound quality on BR320DABC ?

  • Funny, we don't have any radio playing in the house anymore or even in the car. Last time I was listening to local radio would be quite a few years back.

    • That’s because most local AM/FM stations are shite.
Internet radio is a different beast.
Can find no ads …. and most delightful of all, no dj’s…

  • The dimensions of the Bush BR320DABC Digital & Internet Radio differ between the ebay ad, the manufacturer website and the manufacturer's manual. Three different three dimensions to choose from.

Also the ebay ad's imply stereo vs mono incorrectly on some of the ads.

  • +1

If I buy an another $80 alarm clock + radio, my wife will throw it out :-(

  • Bought one of these and looking forward to receiving it. Shane that Bush have gone under so support might be lacking, but I do need a replacement for my Pure Digital Radio which is excellent except believe it or not the case has perished and gone sticky!!!!! Might be the last chance to buy a premium digital radio as they are all cheap and nasty these days.

  • I was in ALDI yesterday they were selling DAB+ radio's for $29. No customers under the age of 45 were buying them.

  • +1

    Thanks for this bargain.
I've never seen the products but I know that when they're reviewed on Hi-Fi sites and receive good reviews at that, at 80% off I'm in.

  • Thanks op. Can never have too much bush.

  • +2

Is the radio a rebaged model or something?

https://www.jbhifi.com.au/blaupunkt/blaupunkt-bcr-9-dabi-dab… is $199 at JB. Exact same radio, different branding.

    • +1

bush is administration maybe they sold off part to blaupunk

The Heritage models appear to be back in stock.

    • they are indeed, managed to buy the heritage II!!

  • 10 left of heritage II, be quick

    • Gone

  • Does the Heritage II have a battery?

    • No but the Heritage P1 does. As per above its still in stock as of 1pm Monday

      • 8 left wont last long

  • Went out for lunch and missed the Heritage II. Geez how frequently you need to check Ozbargain !!
Anyway no worries bought a P1.

Appears that the P1 is portable at the expense of slightly less RMS/volume but the electronics/controls all the same, maybe different display.
    All good.

  • +1

Thanks, would've liked a Heritage II but managed to grab the Heritage P1 and the BR320DABC.

Only 4 left of the Heritage P1.

  • +2

So these Heritage units appear for sale on Amazon UK branded Goodmans.
    So it shows:
    a) it could be still possible to get support if Bush is bust
    b) this was a great deal, and
    c) great reviews.

Got delivery of the BR320DABC and volume as max has no distortion plus the bass is decent for its size.

Very happy for the $74.26 per radio (bought 2) after 5% and 1% cw

  • Oz post leave card without knocking! Sheesh.

  • +2

After a walk to the local Oz Po delivery centre (grrrr)…………..the P1

Nice sound for what it is, I'm not a bass head but there is nice punchy but not overdone bass there.
Setup OK, a bit of a pain away from DAB which has autoscan. FM doesn't. Saving to presets a bit awkward as the "save" option is difficult to get to appear as an option.
Internet radio station selection is a bit fiddly due to the vast number of stations worldwide.
Battery life appears to be fine….initial charge time of 6 hours is recommended on user sheet with radio - more detailed manual must be got from internet by the way - did the 6 hours and it has now been quietly (so lowish drain) playing away for 5 hours, battery icon shows as fully charged still.
No problem logging on to home internet via wifi.
DAB reception is lacklustre, no signal in my downstairs area.
Have only tried DAB, internet radio and FM functions.
Due to the poor DAB reception I was glad to have got the portable P1 as I could move it easily to where I got reception.
RRP was ridiculous, $70 odd I think is fair though not outstanding. It is well made. Don't regret the purchase at this early stage.

    • Are you annoyed there's a 20% code now

      • I just tried, the 20% code doesn't work on these

  • Received a P1 and a BR320DABC. Both excellent products.
The P1 has a higher quality sound and the BR320DABC has higher quality screen and DAB reception.
The P1 needed a system update and the BR320DABC was up to date.
All good. Great everyday or kitchen radios.
    Thanks.

Received BR320DABC today. Radio received in a box twice the expected size…

Outstanding radio. I had no idea that DAB stations were broadcasting rotating imagery such as the weather graphics etc.

    Great sound.

If you have bought, make sure you go to the Bush Australia website to get the full instruction manual download. It has directions on how to set the internet radio presets on your radio from a website online. Also can be used to preset podcasts.

Also, the radio can be controlled from an app, details also in the manual.

Radio has a USB port on the back, sole purpose to be used to charge your phone. Great feature.

    • It has directions on how to set the internet radio presets on your radio from a website online. Also can be used to preset podcasts.

So that's how you do it!

  • Love the versatility of P1. Well worth the price I paid for this time.
However, the craftsmanship is pretty bad comparing to other products in the market that is at the same price point (RRP). The sound is pretty average as well.

  • Just received mine. The volume/selector dial doesn't work. Sigh.

  • Mine arrived today, the internet radio does not work, the only reason I bought it. Now for the fun of returning it.
