    • Lol do nothing and yet famous and rich…

  • Will this kill fruit flies?

    • +3

Maybe it will, but is it worth potentially summoning Cthulhu?

      • +1

Damn, I wish I got that reference

        • You need more Rick and Morty in your life.

          Throw in some Archer too.

        • @tshow: ah, I see

        • +4

@tshow: what? Why? Lol. Thats a lovecraft reference!

Those two shows matter not to that reference.

          @MasterScythe:
          South Park?

I was just naming shows I like :)

        • @MasterScythe: Cthulhu does appear in the opening sequence of Rick & Morty though.

        • @MasterScythe: Obviously some people didn't do role playing games when they were at Uni.

This appears to be very useful in eradicating mosquitoes from all your pregnant women and children…

    • +6

If only new mother's stopped carrying all that stagnant water around.

      • +1

Dont worry about what they carry, It'll break eventually.
But then they expect a hospital trip, geez, me me me.

  • Someone in your market team needs a raise for coming up with that name.

  • +2

don't place the lamp anywhere near you

    radiationless, sure

    • +6

The photo shows it emitting radiation in the visible spectrum!

For anyone considering buying these: dont

Mozzies are primarily attracted to human scent, especially b.o., uv light not very much. You will probably catch a lot of moths instead

I have a MozBuster which includes a synthetic human 'stink' pheromone, even with that results are unimpressive and catch ratio is about 10 moths to 1 mosquito

I actually used to own something like this thing when I lived in Asia.

Didn't run a scientific trial but it did suck up a lot of mosquitoes from my apartment (I kept it inside).

It also only cost me $5 so I wasn't all that worried if it didn't work.

        Loved the description in link.

Mosquito Killing Method: Death by wind

        • +1

          hahaha didn't notice that. Awesome.

        • +1

          Gone with the wind.

    • +4

      primarily attracted to human scent

      Pretty sure they're attracted to CO2 …

      • The mozzies I get are attracted to farts

  • +6

don't waste your money on this trash, I bought one last summer, the whole summer it dindn't catch a single hair of Mosquito. Typically you can hear the Mosquito singing around you whole night long, while this trash making noise next to you. And even just leave this trash along in the room still not attracting a single Mosquito. The maker and seller of this should be rated as SCAMMER.

    • Thanks man. You just prevented me from buying more plastic rubbish that will end up in landfill.

    • Thanks, I appreciate the heads up. Saved me $14.

    • I have a number of these. They work fine, and catch mozzies. BUT if you are in the room as well then the Mozzie isnt dumb, it goes for the blood over the light.

Eg the unit in the garage catches plenty. But also if you leave the garage light on then you dont catch as many.

But this has "LED Bionic Violet" and "human bionic technology" .

  • +5

    "Radiationless" hmmmm.

    Emits light? HMMMMMMMM.

    • No ionising radiation!

      • Likely true.
        However, not what was said.

    • Yea, similar to the Iron Man 1 radiating light emitting core that presumably giving life to Tony…until he realised it also kills him from inside…

  • -1

    Done, perfect time for winter.

  • If the LED produces light then it is technically producing radiation…

    Oh what MasterScythe said

  • damn you ozbargain and your great deals that i didnt know i needed.

    • You don't know what you don't know rite?

  • +1

Would you admit it if you worked for Dresslily?

      • +1

        • hmm, I'd say that depends, if the deal you post on facebook are directly related to selling personal privacy data then yes.

  • Did anyone ever build the mosquito repeller from Dick Smith Funway Into Electronics volume 2 (the green book)? I made a bunch of the other kits as a kid but not that one.

  • Sorry, but there's no evidence that this contraption works. I consider it dishonest to claim effectiveness without disclosing the mechanism of action.

    • disclosing the mechanism of action.

What part of this, in the description, on the website, doesn't disclose this "mechanism of action" 😃
