    Very good price

  • This vs the moto g6 plus?

    • +1

If you are looking at Motorola also look are the Z2 Play

    • This is a flagship from last year…

  • +7

Got mine for $432 about a year ago. Highly recommend it. First phone that wasn't an apple and i'll never be going back, unless gifted.

    • "apple and i'll never be going back, unless gifted."
you meant someone might give away $1800 to someone else as gift?

      • Probably. However, the standard iphone 8 can be had for about $1000 new.

From what I've seen the gifting is usually a hand-me-down after the original owner has upgraded to the latest model.

      • Got the 5 and 6s gifted to me on release(s). The 6s was around $1,200. So yeah.

  • +3

great price. such an underrated phone.

  • +6

If it wasn't for weak battery I would have bought this.

    • +5

If it wasn't for the LCD I would have bought this. Gonna get something with an OLED (probs V30)

      • -5

OLEDS on smart phones are facing big problems with burn in and colours. LCD is probably still kind until they fix this

        • +2

"Big problems". I've had only OLED phones since 2011. Burn in, sure; it's there. Only extremely picky people will care about it. You don't notice it on any other colour but grey. I've never had a problem with colours, either. Yes; over-saturated out of the box; but almost all phones allow you to map it to sRGB in the settings, so it's absolutely not an issue.

        • @BradH13: The opposite can be also said. Only picky people cares about the deep black.

        • -1

Two of my LG made phones with LCD (V20 and G6) have had burn in

        • @Wonderfool:

It really is world of difference when using the phone at night.

        • Yeah and LCD gets ghosting. No technology is immune.

  • does this one have the wireless charging?

    • +1

I may be wrong but i'm pretty sure this model doesn't have wireless charging. Only the US bought models.

      • if i bought an american one off of ebay would it work in australia?

    • Nope, the 64gb dual sim (H870DS) doesn't have wireless charging. But this one does have the quad DAC audio.

      • -6

But this one does have the quad DAC audio.

You realise most phones have DACs that are 100% transparent right? It's something that was achieved decades ago and now costs a few bucks.

        • Have you A/B-ed smartphones with a discrete DAC and ones that use the one on-board the Qualcomm / Kirin chip?

  • +1

Good find, OP. Very good price

  • +1

    Using this phone right now.

    What a great deal.

    • Same here, I got the blue version.

  • Will you be able to claim TRS on this?

    • No.

      • +1

may be soon once they start charging GST 😂

  • +1

Ive been using one of these for a year and I love it, best phone Ive ever had.

  • Looks like need to post to UK for warranty.

This is a great phone though - I've owned one for a year.

    • How the heck to do get the UK for warranty repair?

    • +1

Why would need to go to the UK for warranty? How do you figure that?

  • +1

Good price. Hopefully the G7 and/or V30 can reach this price soon as I'm over my s8 already ;-/

    • +4

What issues do you have with the S8?

  • Good deal, but there's still no method for unlocking the bootloader on the H870DS model FYI.

  • $80 more for local stock

  • great price! confused between LG G6 (~$420) vs V30+ (~$640).. does V30 worth 50% or ~$220 extra??

    • +7

True ozbargainers wait another 3 months for v30 to come down to ~$450.

      • But then there will be a G7 for about $500.

  • Same Quad Dac as the V30+?

    • -2

Unfortunately not. Only the Korean (G6+) model comes with quad DAC.

      • +1

Are you sure? My G6 h870ds definitely has Quad DAC. I can't say if it's an identical DAC to the V30 though.

    • Yep, the H870DS model has the quad DAC.

  • Cheers OP, replacement for my U Ultra …

  • Just in time for Android P to come out and the OS to be outdated again. I mean I really like the phone but that's pretty poor for a nearly-flagship from last year.

    • phones that were released with android one oreo also had to be treble complaint ….. so not only will you get android P but with treble compliance google can offer updates beyond 2 years …. their target is to be on par with apple and offer up to 6 years of updates …….

so if i was parting with money on new phone it would be android one, released with android 8, not nougat and updated, and treble compliant which all new android one phones need to be.

i was looking at nokia 7 plus but it’s pricey in australia ,$600, and not sure how hard to reflash chinese release which is $390 to global release and if certs will be legit so it gets OTA after reflash.

      • Is the Nokia 6.1 2018 model TA-1068 released with Oreo 8.0 and Android One fully Treble compliant and operational?

Hard to get 100% confirmation on this as there seems to be confusion around different model released in China on Nougat and not Android One.

    • My G6 finally just got updated to Andriod 8.0 Oreo last week. The update turned it into a G6 ThinQ with bright mode in the camera (4 pixels converted to 1 pixel) for super low light at the cost of resolution and it works for really, really dark spots. Qlens function also got added to the camera (AI picture recognition and QR code scanner) but I haven't played with it because I disabled its access to Amazon and Pinterest.

  • Does it have bootloop issues like the other LG phones?

    • +1

boot loop was one model long ago and only some handsets.

who knows why it was only some handsets , some say it was soldering on production line, maybe just people who had rooted phones or had a particular app …. there was never a recall which would have been the case if manufacturing fault as they know which batches were manufactured when and on which line….. unlike samsung batteries which they did root cause analysis on .

i have a v20 has never missed a beat, but slow to get oreo so next phone will be android one.

      • +2

Um more than one model.V20, LG g4, and nexus 5x all got bootloop. None for LG since those models

        • +1

v20 didn't get anything too out of the ordinary. Are you thinking about the V10?

        • +1

The V20 was included in the lawsuit settlement but there aren't any significant volume of reported cases for it online.

        • @RedSky:

the g4 gave me a surprise bootloop. its funny though, because the way to solve it was to put it in the freezer, and then it would work for a few minutes just to extract any important data

      • We never knew the main reason, but it seemed that it only plagued SD810 devices, so the Nexus 5X, which was a LG made device with SD 810, also had the same issue.

        • +1

The G4 was SD 808, same family as the SD 810 though. Those 2 CPUs were particularly bad for getting hot under a bit of load. Their poor thermal performance combined with LG's poor quality control seems to explain the major issues with these handsets (in particular the solder on the CPU would fail, so the main board had to be replaced). Plenty of other manufacturers managed to make handsets with these CPUs without this happening though, so seems like it was a combination of LG plus these CPUs.

    • +1

The G6 was LG's first phone to include heat pipes to help cool down the chips because the chips in previous phones were getting really hot and de-soldering which caused the boot loop problems.

I'm using the G6 for a year now and game on it heavily. No boot loops yet and I don't expect it will because the handset hasn't gotten as hot as my boot looped G4.

  • I bought this for $500ish. Very good phone & the water resistance is a godsend

  • +11

$406.25 from DWI using tomorrow’s 11% off code.

    Edit: Also available in silver.

    • +1

Depends if they still have the same price tomorrow.

      • +1

Prices don’t change for the 10% off site wide sales, it’s the seller specific 20% off sales that see “price adjustments”.

        • They can. TGG did it for a TV I wanted to buy, 5 minutes before it started. Then they dropped it back when it ended.

    • I said this once and i'll say it again

Strongly wouldn't recommend dwi to anyone. Warranty is non existent and they charge you to return it to them and to get it returned back to you. Most things are not covered either. If you want a phone to use once off than fine but take super super care of it

    • +1

      Thanks. Got one.

    • +1

Thanks for this aja12. Got it for $406.73.

      There's 6 left.

      • +1

All good man, enjoy the phone.

  • -2

Hope no boot loop issue arises as eglobal won't cover you past 12 months even though LG might.

  • Thanks op, I bought one.
4 left as of now. Guess ozbargainers holding out to stack with TA's 11% cashback tmr?

    • +2

oz bargainers sometimes hold out for the smallest savings ….seems to be the thrill of the kill and a religion more than budget or nothing better to do on a sunny day.

    • +1

eBay only allows one code at a time doesn't it?

  • +1

Too bad no root and custom roms for this device

  • I have a V20, and this is pretty much the same with some additions like water proofing, etc. An outstanding value proposition at this price that I'd have jumped at if I didn't have a V20.

  • This vs a Nokia 7 plus.

    • +4

I have a G6 and my wife has a 7+. I'd go 7+ for much better battery life and Android One. G6s best features are the wide angle camera and the DAC, if those are crucial to you.

      • Plus a faster processor in G6

        • Far less efficient. They have similar core configuration, so their processing speed is about the same. The GPU is the main differentiation between the SD660 and SD 820.

Edit: Nvm, same efficiency, just clocked lower. My bad.

        • I actually find G6 is laggier but I don't game, which is probably where the 821 would make more difference.

        • Plus waterproof

  • +2

    Like a G6!

  • +4

Owned this for about a year now,2 bad things about this phone,
    * become laggy which shouldn't
    * screen size issue when watching youtube/gaming

    Would I buy again? No.

    • Yeah, also owned my G6 about a year and it is laggy at times. Still great value phone if you get it for this price. Love the finger print scanner and that has never lagged.

  • All over No Stock …….

  • -1

Good phone but still no Oreo in oz

  • -6

Don't forget to add BOOTLOOP voucher code in the checkout to get We-Don't-Cover-Anything-if-it-goes-wrong from LG after y'all phones comes with free Bootloop after 1 year standard warranty finished.
It might also comes with the permanent lock out / delete of your crucial data in Internal Storage.

  • hmmm…71 likes but only 9 sold just now

  • +1

Bought it for almost this price about a year ago. Now it won't charge, keeps saying moisture in charging port. I have tried almost everything and it seems a number of other users have had the same issue.

    • Happened with my Galaxy A5 2017. Plug in ur phone and restart.
      Should work.

    • Try the cord in a new charger or get A new cord. Same thing happened to me and the cord was the problem, but that same cord worked in a different charger if that makes sense.

      • I have tried different chargers, different cords, cleaned the charging port, all sorts of rebooting combinations, safe mode, etc. I'm almost out of ideas.

    • I've had this a couple of times, I clean it with paper picks (fold paper into a triangle) then use the charging cable to try and scrape against the port a bit.

last time several cables all kept reporting it, then I tried a blitzwolf one I have which worked, then the rest started working again after a few days.

  • Looks like eglobal forgot about the 20% for this item and didnt insert with the jacked up price!

  • This or Redmi Note 5 ( Global Version ) ?
