To the lady I spoke to on the phone.

Sorry I wasn't aware you had gone ahead and cleared my account of my credit.

I can't leave you a good review for that reason, I will remove my credit card and uninstall the app.

    • Removing your CC may not be enough. As a precaution, you may wish to get in touch with the customer service of your CC.

  • Just had a phone call from random mobile number and it was gocatch. Offering $25 credit and membership 'valued at $99' for Ozb members. Eventhough my 80 hasnt dissapeared, I presume it will. She said credits removed as T&Cs were breached as only one code per account. I asked if I could just have the referral 20 and coupon 20 to make it 40. she said to fill in google doc from somwehre??. I told her I didnt have the time and if she could put forward the request for me. she said ok, hung up and called back 10 min later and said it should be ok. My account should reflect returned amount within 48 hrs. She couldnt tell me how much would be returned (again, my 80 is still yet to be removed in first place). Will see how is in few days and will maybe try use as I never added a payment method. Will then tell driver to take it up with gocatch if they dont accept my credit.

If you want to call her and tell her how you feel about offer made to you, number is 0434 862 806

  • +2

I also got the call to upgrade membership. I refused, and he offered me $25 credit which I also refused.

  • +4

I too got the phone call from Go Catch.

I didn't hang up or be rude to them. I actually felt sorry for the guy calling, as he will soon be without a job, so I remain professional and pleasant on the phone.

But I will not be leaving any positive reviews as they requested. I feel duped in this bait and switch tactic.

I have already left a bad review on the Apple app store.

  • +2

Trying to negotiate for positive reviews is also DODGY!!!
Most review sites would not accept this behavior

    • Is like buying your vote for a positive review which isn't true.

  • +6

Like a virgin…ooooh….Neg for the very first time….
Thanks Gocatch for deleting all of my credits. And then bothering me at work.

  • Got a call today from GOCATCH asked me to leave them a good review on ozbargain site. I refused. Very annoying.
BEWARE Dont sign up dont give them a number to call you.

    • This is very dodgy.
Nearly all the review sites do not allow soliciting of reviews

  • +1

Lol got a phone call too and immediately a text after from 0478922105
Texted back "Please remove all my account and details from your database. What your company did to multiple users including changing T&Cs was undoubtedly dodgy. And a "free membership" won't change anything. Please remove all details and do not contact this number ever again"

    • +2

And replied with a $20 credit offer. Um no thanks.

  • +1

hahah i had a good laugh after they called .. can’t believe they removed all the credit ..

  • +1

Just got a call from GoCatch, it was from some Mobile Number.
They offered me $25 Credit and also free membership upgrade. I told them "No Thank You, please close my account" and then he said "OK" and hang up. Poor guy will be out of a job soon? all because some Idiot made a decision to remove our credit without telling us first hand.

      5 star review…wow

  • +5

I got a call at 7am in the bloody morning saying they will make me a GoCatch member for free. However they neglected to mention they took all my credits. Bastards.

  • I got told that the email sent has a google form which if I fill I would get back $20 credit as 1 voucher per account and a $25 compensation voucher from GoCatch.

Still not the $80 I lost.

  • Got a call at 10am from 0422 930 622 saying I'd gotten free membership. Gee. Thanks.

PayPal has reimbursed the money GoCatch took from me so now I'm deleting the app and having my account closed.

    • i missed a call from 0478 540 851, then sent a text with the following….

      "Hi,

This is Idrew calling from GoCatch customer support. I have awesome news for you we're giving all our OzBargain customers $25 credit and a free rewards membership worth $99

We would really appreciate if you can leave us a positive review on OzBargain"

Lucky i was in a meeting, i would have told him to delete me from GoCatch.

      • +3

"We would really appreciate if you can leave us a positive review on OzBargain"

        Hahahahaha. No.

  • Called at work also. Codes all "adjusted"… to zero.
    Bye bye app!!

Due to the high volume of users attempting to redeem multiple non-offered voucher codes, we’ve had to adjust those credit entries as per the GoCatch Terms and Conditions. You may have seen your credit balance adjusted. If you think there is an issue with this, then simply enter your details in this form here and we’ll assess your case

  • Got a call from an indian bloke saying 'v r giving all ozbargains 25 dollar cradit and free membership, pls update app' (in his words). Then I keep getting emails from Go Catch asking me to add a payment method.

Might still stay away, had the $80 stuck I might have given them a go but they sound dodgy and $25 wont get you far anyway.

  • +6

GoCatch has been calling everybody about the great news of offering people "free membership upgrade" and asking for good reviews online to hide the bad press they have been receiving for the scam they pulled. Most calls forgot to mention the unilateral wiping of all credit from users' accounts. The lies continue.

  • +5

Got a phonecall I could barely understand, soliciting for a positive review on "Ozzy" Bargain. Will never use them. Have requested they close my account and remove my credit card details from their records.

  • +5

Received a call telling me off for stacking codes, informed them I've also had the credit removed from the referrals from friends and family, assuming $40 worth, but I would also be relying on GoCatch to verify this, who I now wouldn't trust with as much as a bus fare.

Asked them to delete my account and remove all my personal and financial information. If this is how they deal with referral credit, I certainly don't want to find out how inept they are with access to my actual money.

I've left a negative review on Google Play for the app including the details, suggest everyone do the same via Google or Apple stores.

If GoCatch manage to survive this PR nightmare, it will be a very good lesson for them.

  • +4

I asked them to delete all my information by email. I was then told that my account was deactivated. Later, I received a call and text message from a Sandesh (0468 904 597).

Clearly they are not acting upon my instructions to delete my information.

What recourse do we have here?

    • -1

this is the same Pakistani who called me!

      • +1

        Sandesh is an Indian name.

  • +1

Does anyone have a recorded conversation of them offering incentives for a good review?

  • +7

I have emailed them twice to have my account closed. They have not closed it!

How do I rid these crooks from my life? They screwed around the wrong bunch of bargain hunters, here!!

  • +7

GoCatch is trying to save themselves from their most recent PR disaster by continuing their deceitful tactics.

GoCatch has always been the most expensive way to hail a taxi. All their promotions are just smoke and mirrors trying to hide the fact that you end up paying more using the app. This bait and switch screw up is not helping their image either. What's more, they have the audacity to email and CONGRATULATE me about the "free Rewards Membership", only to hide the message of "we're revoking your credit" in the end. Like I said, it's always smoke and mirrors, even with their email trying to clean up the mess. I can't stand poor service, let along shady practice. I have emailed their support to permanently close my account and already removed the app from my phone.

Don't forget to voice your grievances through the following channels.

    Update

They really need to take it easy on copying and pasting their lies. GoCatch got caught red handed changing their Ts&Cs to cover up their ass. There wasn't any "non-stacking" clause before. Want proof? Ts&Cs Section 23 Before & After

Oh, by the way, calling people up to trick them into giving you positive reviews is also highly unethical, if not against Ts&Cs of most websites. Beware, if you haven't received the scam call yet, you will soon.

  • +3

Also just had a missed call from them and then a text message from 'rajat', with the same copy and paste from the email about my magnificent free $99 value VIP account, but no mention of reinstating any of my original credit like others have had.

Not only have they dug themselves a massive hole but they seem determined to keep digging as deep as they can.

  • +3

terrible bribes. i will never use such unprofessional services. Go Uber!

  • +3

Do you think we should contact the ACCC regarding this company? They have likely broken some type of consumer laws and honestly out of principle I'm frustrated to stand by why this company acts so deceitful.

I will keep using Uber and Ola in the meantime.

  • +3

Lol even deleted referral credits big fail

    • +1

Yeah, I think that’s what majority of the community is pissed about. I referred my partner and she lost hers as did I! They are worst than Hitler!

  • +1

Yep, what a toxic company! Very rude customer service removed all codes

  • +3

lost my 80$ and got a call few days ago, really unhappy > : ( gota leave those 1 star reviews at every media site

  • +4

Same boat, credit gorrrnne and was planning on using this gocatch app tonight for the first time, luckily ended up on OZB first and saw this …. Dodgy company

Will remove app from my and partners phone and call on trusty old Taxify tonight

  • +5

accidentally called a taxi and got charged full fee as didnt realise coupon was swiped.

reading this now and not even angry anymore. this will go down in history of PR fails

  • We all got duped with the free upgrade membership, without being notified about $80 of credit being removed..

  • The credit is still in my account but I am too afraid to use it. I don't think I can trust this company.

  • +1

im not following the point of this company - why would i want the most expensive ride sharing service out / why would i want a more expensive way of hailing a taxi?
    neg for removing credits

  • +2

They still haven't deleted my account/personal information as requested and tried to give me a $20 credit instead. If it's not deleted soon I will be making a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

    • How can you tell whether they have deleted your information or not?

      • See if I can reset my password, create a new account with same email/phone number, email them and ask them, etc.

    • +1

Got an email on Wednesday saying my account had been deleted.

Today at 3pm, I got the following email:

      Hello xiahwolf,

We'd love to hear what you think of how well our Customer Service Representative resolved your concern. Please take a moment to answer one simple question by clicking either link below.

I don't know if this was automated or whatever but I'm now questioning whether they deleted my account. I've sent back an email asking why they still have my name and email on file and whether they have other data they still haven't deleted.

      • +1

I wonder how much governance this company has.

I am nervous about them holding onto my information too.

        • +1

          Just got this response.

          "Already did the request.

Kindly log out from the app for the changes made to take effect."

I've logged out AND deleted their stupid app. Why do they still have my details?

        • @xiahwolf:

I just got an email from them. Clearly I'm still on their records despite me wanting nothing to do with them.

  • +1

guess i wont use gocatch ever again

  • +1

Credit was removed without notification, I was billed for a trip which should have been promotional, at least $20 credit should have been left.

  • They respondent and offered me $20 credit back (I had about $12 before this fiasco) — but three days later there is still $0 in my account. More fails!

  • +1

Lost promo credits and referral credits, but it's a GOOD THING because it was worth losing it to see how bad a company GOCATCH is.
