Wasn't this posted a couple of days ago?

  • Anyone tried the "Make Offer" option?

    • +1

      Lots of people have…

      scroll down…

      • Thanks. It appears that last accepted offer was back in April 2018.

        • $283 for this is excellent value…

  • It's very competent hardware, recommend this, seriously - if you've given up gaming, chuck 16GB, 1TB SSD in it, thing will run VMs no qualms, windows flawless and 2x30" monitors (2x displayport)

    • What if someone wants to game on this?

I'm not looking for a 1080 spec machine, I just want to run some old games on high (gta v). What's a cost effective gfx card?

      • +4

        'Old' (GTA V)

        • +2

To be fair it's an almost 5 years old, last generation game. It sure as shit ain't modern.

      • What if someone wants to game on this?

I've no problem running Minesweeper on a 9010.

the best GPU you can get in low profile form factor is GTX 1050 / 1050 Ti.

        • Thanks gentlemen!

      • +1

Yep this would be a great gaming machine with more ram and gtx 1050ti. Probs the best bang to buck pc imo

        • If I get the Gtx1050, will the ram be the bottleneck?

        • +4

@montorola: yeah probably better off with the 1050ti just for the extra vram

        • +1

@montorola: Just a heads up that the GTX 1050 requires 70W. Some other these optiplex machines will only supply 45W via the PCI slot.

So I would recommend getting a gtx 1060 (so it has an external power input) and upgrading the PSU. This is what I did for a friend. Although he got an optiplex in a larger case. I don't think a 1060 will fit in this unless you feel like cutting a rectangle out of the side of the case.

Otherwise you could upgrade the PSU and find a gtx 1050 that has an external power plug, but I'm not sure if they exist. (Haven't really looked)

          Just a heads up :)

      • I would try aim for a GTX 1060 machine.

For some reason there are some very good deals on 1060's popping up all over the place on gumtree but not 1070's.

As an example I could get a 1060 for about the same or maybe $50 more than I could get a 1050ti and if you check bench marks that is very well worth it.

You can maybe nab a 1080 for $600 if you play it right and a 1080ti for $800.

        I passed on a $225 GTX 1060 6gb yesterday.. so..

        • +1

No 1060 will fit in this machine.

    • what if I want to replace the CPU with this sff machine, will there be any difference from the normal ones?

  • I got the Dell Optiplex 9010 from a previous deal last year or so.
These are great work horses I’ve upgraded mine to a 1tb SSD and use it as a 24/7 Plex server with external drives for data. Great unit would buy again if I needed another headless server.

  • Almost tempting to replace my 3rd gen NUCs with these sometimes. Gives off just a little bit of extra power.

  • +3

Lol my ram cost more than the whole system

    • :D

The beauty of the PC platform right there …

Will this qualify as brand new?

  • How would I get wifi adapter on those? USB ones?

  • Out of Stock as of 10:50 pm

    • Looks like they only had about 20.

  • Love these computers, keep ordering them for my work.

  • Missed out. Hope this comes back in stock soon
