    Don't forget Arserewards everyone.

  • Does anyone know what the name of the newer type of trailer hitch with the pin instead of the ball is called? I've been searching for it on Supercheap but can't find it. Not sure if they don't sell it or I'm not using the right name for it.

    • +1

Treg or poly block. Got one on my camper trailer.

      • I've no idea why but apparently a mid believes that the link I just shared is an affiliate link?? It isn't.

Anyway that's not quite what I'm after, I'm looking for one like this. I just don't know what the generic name for it is

        https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/HITCHMASTER-DO35-V3-I-3-5T-OFF-ROA…?

a mid believes that the link I just shared is an affiliate link

It's automated, it wasn't the mids.

        • +4

          It was a robomid

        • +1

OP had one too many middies

  • Thanks for the heads up. I'm gonna rebuy the same floor mats and seat covers I got the last time they had a sale.

    • Any suggestions for good seat covers?

Want a nice sheepskin comfy one, but reviews point to fluff sticking to clothes.

    • Why rebuy? Didn't last?

  • Anyone able to suggest a decent pressure washer?

    • Yes.

    • No

    • +2

      Maybe

      • I bought a highend Karcher about 6 years ago. I don't use it frequently but push the limits when I do. Washed a car over 1.5 hours flat out after an offroad trip. Worked well. The hose is long too.

    • +2

Depends what you want to use it for?

5 years or so ago I bought the basic Karcher from Bunnings for $99 and I've used it heaps for everything such as washing cars, concrete, washing down roofs before I spray paint them etc.

A higher psi would be better for washing concrete down I reckon, but for cleaning roofs and cars I don't want too much pressure.

So I can only recommend Karcher as that's all I've used and it's served me well for all those jobs.

      • Thanks for the reply, it was mainly for the car. Will have a look!

        • I use it with a snow foam lance that I bought of eBay. Works great. I'm finally going to buy an extension hose for the Karcher next eBay sale. It's the only thing that annoys me, the short hose.

      • +1

Yep, second vote for a Karcher. I reckon better than Gerni (what sells at Supercheap).

        • 3rd vote Karcher, I got the base model 6ish years ago, cops a hiding and lives outside permanently. Plastic starting to deteriorate from being in the weather but still runs well. I use it for the car and other muddy toys.

    • your neighbours'

    • If only for general cleaning and car washing, Bosch EasyAquatak 120 Pressure Washer is very portable and light weight. http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/Product/Bosch-EasyAquatak-1…

Easy to use and you can carry it around your house. I also have a separate foam lance attached to it, work very well with with plenty of thick snow foam.

Hmmmm…. Would need a chance of name if your wishes come true

servicing stuff. changing your oil is a good start to keeping it running for a long time.

    • +1

Stock up on oil & oil filter. You can find exactly which one on the website by entering your car details.

    • Maybe some roof racks? Maximise the space you’ve got inside by putting some gear on top? Or some bike racks etc? It depends on what you’re using the car for I reckon, but that’d be my thoughts.

  • I wonder how this would work with touch up paint? Buy online then get it colour matched when I go in?

  • Good price on oil filters or can I trust cheapo ebay ones?

    • Cut one open and have a look. I wouldn't trust cheap filters, they skimp on the actual filter material. I would trust cheap oil as long as it complies to the relevant standard.

  • Is this likely to be in addition to catalogue/special prices?

    • Current catalogue finishes today……
New catalogue probably out on Wednesday

      • Well there goes my stacking plans

Can use entertainment book 10% off gift cards tho.

Need SCA to be added to Price Hipster.

    • Agreed. Would've come in useful on several occasions.

      • Asked him on here a while ago if he could add Supercheap, BCF etc (same company) he said he had contacted them but they hadn't provided him with what he needed, probably best to contact them on FB or similar to encourage them to play ball, the more demand for it the more likely it would be too happen.

Bissell SpotClean - Auto, Carpet Shampooer - comes down to $160. Comparable to a quite popular bargain a month ago - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/381989 but with additional tools - 3 in 1 upholstery tool and 2 in 1 spraying crevice tool.

    • Thanks for the tip. Been needing one of these.

      • Isn’t this cheaper at HN? Says in stock or are the extra tools worth it?

        • +1

          1 Not supporting Gerry
          2 $12 cashback Cash rewards
          3 Extra tools

@kiwigene: ok thanks, just bought one

  • So many pos votes. What are people buying?

    • +1

      New car battery.

      • Yeah I'm gonna get a new battery too. Any recommendation? Every time I go to SCA, they always try to sell me their home brand car battery. Not sure about the quality but it comes with 12 months warranty.

        • Last time I bought a car battery from them, it was the SCA one, and it is still going fine in my car, ~3 years later. Maybe I was lucky, but I'd be willing to take that chance again.

This one is for a solar lighting system, for my front pathway. I know a car battery isn't the ideal thing for that, but it's cheap. I'll get some terminal clips/clamps from the wreckers, or maybe from Ebay.

      • Maybe just me but the car batteries seem very expensive at SCA, recommended battery for my car (Hyundai i30) at SCA (century battery) is $222. I can get a Supercharge gold equivalent battery for $165 at autobarn, + they come with longer warranty too.

        • +1

Yes agreed, SuperCharge Gold are an excellent battery and if you sign up to AutoBarn auto club you get 20% off your first purchase.

  • Time to get windscreen wipers

    • +1

Last time I needed some I ended up getting them at Big W as they were much cheaper.

  • Any recommendations for a good reversing camera (for 2011 Mazda 3)? Also any suggestions for places to install it?

    • The mirror attached to the windscreen works well. Even comes with two extras, one each located either side of your chariot.

  • Can this be coupled this with discounted gift cards bought from elsewhere ?

    • +1

      Yes.

    • +2

I can order from Entertainment Book if you want

      • Thanks. Suncorp app also gives discounted gift cards (8% for sca). Was just checking if possible. Nice deal!

        • +1

I can get 10% off for SCA

  • My car battery is flat, can anyone recommend me a portable jump starter? (Honda Civic 2012)

    • +1

the SCA one isn't that bad.

    • If it's extremely low voltage (nothing at all turns on, no lights on your dash, nothing) some portable ones don't have the capability to bypass the battery and therefore won't be able to jump it. If it's that low you should borrow a trickle charger. Don't expect the little lithium-ion ones to work in all situations.

  • +2

Lol I just placed an order and it deducted $20 off my order, original price $32.99 I paid $12.99
it was an online order with free delivery

    • Yeah i added a $150 item to my cart and it took $20 off not $30, seems like they done goofed and made it a flat $20 off not 20% off.

    • …just tried now (8:16am) and its taking 20% off so looks like theyve picked up on their error… :D

  • +2

Can confirm it's $20 off with no minimum spend!! Amazing!

    • ….seems to be fixed now. :(

  • Awesome, got the free $20.

Now I wonder if we are still eligible for the 20% once they correct the stuff up..

    • I'm more curious if they will honour… by now I'm sure people are putting through orders for $20 or around that mark to get free items….

      • You've got a point. I've just put through another order and paid a few dollars. I think I'm going to stop here. I made sure I put more than $20 on my cart, but I tried it on a cart value of $19.95 and you basically get stuff for free with the code, and there's no limit to how many times you use the code lol!!

I'm pretty certain all these orders are going to get cancelled..

        • I'm thinking as there is nothing to refund on a $0.00 order, those will definitely be cancelled, but I have a feeling any others will have to be processed.

      • +1

        Discount is even off shipping.

Banner on their site clearly says 20%

        http://media.supercheapauto.com.au/sca/images/user/media/cam…

Be surprised if they honor it.

        • yeh they done goofed :P

  • +2

Someone at Supercheap Auto HQ isn't going to have fun when they come into work later today..

    • …the web developers will certainly have to come up with some creative excuses on this one :P

  • +1

Buying things for $21 in the hope that they get honoured. Unlikely though but you got to be in it to win it…

lol stocking up on some Bowden's Own stuff, buying individually so they are like $3 a bottle… My guess is I'll wake up to a few cancellation emails…

  • +1

Damn is supercheap getting ozbargained right now?

  • Sparesbox looks cheaper even compared to 20% discount (at least for oil filters).
    https://www.sparesbox.com.au/

    • +1

Yeah but their customer service and delivery times are crap.

      • Thanks for that info, but if they are significantly cheaper I think I can live with that.

      • No way, I contacted Sparesbox many times for parts not listed on their website and it has been great from ordering till receiving. Phone and online chat.

  • +4

I have noticed some of the prices have been jacked.

  • +1

$20 off as others have been saying, curious if they’ll honour.

What I’ve done though, add a SCA Plus membership which costs $5. Add something else so the total value is over $20, in my case $20.99.

Be charged $.99 for your membership which activates over email, and you automatically get $10 credited to your account. And you also get whatever you purchase, if honoured.

    Thanks TA
