    Surprised that Bunnings does not sell 18650 batteries or chargers. This is a good price for AA though.

      Because literally only vapes use them in any form that's removable.

        And high power flashlights.

    • They do sell 18650. In the solar light section.

    If you're not near a bunnings, it's 5c more at EBGames - https://ebgames.com.au/any/any?q=varta . Picked up a pile of these last week to go with Xiaomi sensor lights

    • Got 1 from EB. Thanks for you post!

  • do these charge other rechargable AAs?

    havent used rechargables in many many years…

    • Only Ni-MH.

  • Note that Bunnings have put the wing description against that charger.

    The LCD charger is here:

      I know they are just 'winging' the product description

        Dammit meant 'wrong'…

    No deal if it's a dumb timer based charger; description hints that it is, and that it's "pairs" charging. Makes it kinda worthless and thus very expensive per battery (vs. IKEA and Aldi for instance).

    • Up to users to determine if its worth having an additional basic charger around in case they need it.

      Also for price comparison IKEA LADDA batteries
      4 x AA 2450mAH 9.99 (without charger) … vs 2100mAH for Varta
      4 x AAA 900mAH 8.99 (without charger)

        It's really not worth ever having a dumb charger like this. They cook batteries (especially low self discharge NIMH cells), which quickly means it does the opposite of paying for itself.

        If you want a cheap charger, get one of the LiitoKala ones from Banggood or eBay for $5. They are faster and actually stop charging once each cell is full, and will make your batteries last.

          What charger would you recommend of proper quality? Looking to replace all my old rechargeable batteries with the Ladda, thinking of getting a proper charger too.

          Thanks!

          @Zylam Marex:

          I also would like to know - currently using the IKEA LADDA charger for my Eneloops. Want to get a decent charger that will make my eneloops last…. @JMC

          EDIT: Is this the one you are referring to: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LiitoKala-Lii-402-Smart-Battery-…

          Is that better than the LADDA charger that's at IKEA?

          @katz:

          The Ladda charger isn't bad (it detects full cells properly), but it trickle charges once it's done so you shouldn't leave full batteries on it.

          The cheapest charger I'd recommend is the LiitoKala Lii-100. All their chargers are decent though, the different models just change how many batteries, charge speed, extra features you get etc. Also look at chargers from Nitecore, Xtar, and a few other similar brands that escape me.

        • @JMC:

          Thanks, much appreciated!

  • Are these acid trippers?

      Negging because they aren't eneloops. Seriously?
      Find me eneloops for this price + a charger and I'll change my tune.

      You + community have revoked the -1 vote from "Drew22" on this deal.

    Looks like the charger only allows for batteries to be charged in pairs. EG 2 or 4 at a time. Not good if you have devices that require an odd amount of batteries to run EG 1 or 3.

    Whats a good intelligent charger to use with eneloops/LADDA batteries?
    Struggling to find any solid recommendations
