  • So torrents is the only way to get the game?

    • Unfortunately yes, there's no special downloader (like EA Downloader) for this game. You can download the game from torrent sites or hotfile, rapidshare links.

      • in all seriousness, for d/ls through torrents, hotfile, rapidshare, megaupload, most will have a keygen or text(with keys) incorporated in teh file download

      • -2

Ok but isn't downloading torrents illegal (or at least these) therefore you're advocating your customers break the law?

        • -1

We just tell where can they get the game. If you know a better way to get the game, you can share with us ;).

        • -1

As far as better way to get it why not use steam? It may not be cheaper but it's legal and not questionable like this deal and that makes it a better way to get the game IMHO.

The link to steam is http://store.steampowered.com/app/9930/ if anyone is interested.

        • -1

Pretty sure Steam has it's own DRM protection on it's games (this game has none, as it's not affiliated with EA nor Steam), plus the fact that Steam frequently checks where the keys are being activated.
They'll get suspicious when a European key is getting activated on an Australian account.

@ funkymonkey - Do your research before you neg a deal based on nonsense.

Torrents are not illegal to use if you own the rights to download the item.

If you have a legit key - like the ones CDKeysHere have, then you are well within your legal right to download the game from any source and activate the online part with your purchased key. Just like you may use torrents to download mp3 versions of any CD's you own, or div x versions of DVD's you own.

Its people that use torrents without owning the rights that are breaking the law.

I have purchased from this seller and had no problems, I checked the authenticity with Steam and even used my game (COD black ops) within steam.

Even though this concept sounds dodgy, I can assure you that its just a 'new' way of delivering media digitally.

The only thing they may consider is purchasing some bandwith on a hosting site to allow quick downloads of games like this - but then you pay more…..

          My 2 cents.

  • Not being able to activate this on steam (for update management, friend integration, and all the fun things like steam library ego) makes this deal seem worse. Just checking it is $40USD on steam, so the saving is good.

Your COD:BO deal and it looks pretty tempting.

You can also see your previous deals from http://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/38860/submitted if you look hard enough. IMO it is much nicer than just a bunch of indistinguishable links.

I'm not going to positive because the download method and no steam activation, but I won't neg because it is a bargain price.

man i want this but im strapped at the moment. anyone want to donate me a key =D

  • Any chance of these getting 'banned' since it looks like its an Eastern European copy?

  • I'm very hesitant about the legality of this (and hence if it should appear on ozbargain).
Do the game manufacturers authorise or condone sales of their cd keys in this way?

    • Game developers have been openly against the selling of cdkeys in this way and some have actually said they'd rather have you pirate it.

      • I might just do that then…

  • Just for heads -up….pretty sure it's LEGAL to obtain the files for the game (any means necessary) as long as you own a serial key for the product.

Uploading your files from a purchased disk (distribution) is illegal however. < This is why it is a grey area.

    Dodgy deal!

  • +2

your better off paying an extra 17$ and getting it from steam.

  • I travel a lot and move around different countries, I've bought heaps of games from all over the world and the keys work in whatever country you're in. Sometimes you'll be tied to geographical servers though, for example Lord of the Rings Online I bought in Spain so I can only play on European servers.

  • -1

I can confirm that this is legit. Works. But I prefer running things through steam (that way I can show off my epeen) :P

  • -1

It is legit guys, I have bought keys from them before.

  • -1

Pitty the game sucks donkeys nether regions.

  • -2

At the end of the day despite what naz_eg will say using it is no different to a pirated copy as it's still unlicensed/illegitimate therefore this deal really shouldn't be allowed on ozbargain….

  • +3

You're buying a unique manufactuers licence key for the game, sure you don't get the media but you've bought the legit licence so you can use any old backup of the media (including a torrent) so long as you've paid for the licence key. Why do you say it's "unlicensed/illegitimate"? Can you post a legitimate link which clearly supports what you say?

    • -1

The key is illegitimate because you intentionally circumvent the license agreement you agree to when installing the game.

Naz_eg buys games that are bought at retail in certain low-cost countries such as Russia and Thailand which are restricted to that region, and this restriction is printed clearly on most game boxes.

      • Ahh I see, thanks Tyrx, it's a matter of economics then. The publisher should set a reasonable percentage for profit then set the price universally at adjusted curriencies so all markets are paying the same percentage, like what ikea does, £1 item in the UK is a $2 item in Aus…

      • +1

Dammit, have no negs left for today. :(

    • +3

No he cant, because there is no such legality, and should remove the neg vote as he/she has no idea what they are talking about.

Developers will try and region lock games online and in other ways to stop parallel imports, but it is not enforceable by law in Australia. A purchased, licensed copy, no matter where it is sourced is perfectly legit here in Oz.

      see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallel_import

      In particular;

      Quote in the 'Australia" section.

"In 2000 the Australian Government resolved to remove parallel import restrictions from a range of products except cars, and followed this up with legislation making it legal to source music and software CDs from overseas and import them into Australia."

As many have stated on here including the OP (Hi Naz, thanks for the good prices!!) this IS PERFECTLY LEGIT.

      • Cheers greydaniel, I appreciate the clear and accurate response.

      • +1

Thanks for your explanation. I appreciate it. I want to give an example too; You went to Russia or somewhere in the world and found a game cheaper then your country and bought it. Then you returned your home and played the game. Is this illegal? I don't think so. Some people give negative vote here but they don't know anything about this subject.

      • -1

If you were to import the PHYSICAL media that would be true however in this case the physical media is delivered to Turkey, not Australia.

Besides one of the main reasons I neg'ed this deal is because the key(s) can -legally- be disabled.(I'm not getting into the whole eula's are invalid debate)

naz_eg, if you went to russia or wherever and came back with the game it would be fine as you will have the physical media with you and the Australian parallel importing law would be in effect. (although despite the law some publishers like valve apparently can still disable your key)

If you were upfront about the risk of using cdkeys from the beginning I would have more respect for you however instead of doing that you've decided to mislead people on this site into thinking the keys are perfectly safe…

        • Can u get the physical DVD if you buy from Steam or Direct2drive? ıf you want to pay more and buy physical, you can. Nobody holding you. But just know this, we'r doing this job since 1 year and we never had any problem with our keys. You can read our comments and reviews.

        • You basically just ignored everything I said..

        • I'm enjoying this debate, it has merit.

So Tryx, you're saying that if you are buying an electronic distributed package or licence key then you'd have to buy that product through the vendors approved channels. If you're buying the physical media then you can parallel import but only if it's the physical media you're recieving?

  • who cares its better than paying the rip off prices in aus. im glad we can buy these keys for cheap and still get the full game with online play.
