Are these medical laptops? “I need a laptop, STAT!”

  • Any with FHD display?

      https://renewd.com.au/products/hp-pavilion-15-aw009ax-15-6-l…

This seems way too good to be true - 269 delivered.
I bought it through paypal and cc to be safe, but so far looks great.

If anyone can look at this link, and tell me that this aint worth it, i'd be surprised

      • ah it sold out.
FYI use the search functions on the left hand side. This site is surprisingly well set up, and if all goes well, I'm gonna keep tabs on it in the future.

      • Sold Out!!

None of the photos are the actual laptops that they are selling. So "Good Condition" can be interpret differently to different people I guess.

        • will show evidence of much heavier use that will include scuffing, heavier scratches, dents and chips on external surfaces, wear and tear will be visible on palm rest, keyboard and touchpad, screen may have minor scratches, white blemishes may be evident on the screen, hinges may have small cracks.

        • @pennypincher98:

It is something to consider. But in the past I've found those warnings meaningless compared to what others have said about the product as there's no set definitions and often refurbishers won't check all their stock carefully so some might be labeled as scratched when they are pristine, and some might be labeled 'great' but actually have a solid dent in a corner.

When I got my SP3 3 years ago refurbished from a deal posted on this site, it was marked as having some cosmetic problems but all of us found that they were effectively brand new with no signs at all of any wear on any of the parts. It was as though they were brand new stock that were opened to be upgraded to Windows 10 and then sold as 'refurbished'.

I've purchased from these guys before, they're legit but take note of their Condition Report.

Read their own definitions of the condition reports link
*If I was buying from them; and the cost wasn't too much different, I would definitely aim for "excellent" condition over "good" or "great".

  • +1

purchased a surface pro 3 (that im typing this on) earlier this year, condition was marked as "good" and it was on the better side of what i was expecting, there was some corner damage but tbh at the price i paid it was definitely worth the price! Regretting not grabbing a surface book as it would have suited my workflow better but definitely will be looking through that range on their website when the time comes to make the switch

    • Rep should have posted the $520 for the 8GB + 256GB SSD SP3 bargain.

      https://renewd.com.au/collections/microsoft/products/microso…

That's a really good deal. Better than the newer Surface Go and a fair bit cheaper too.

      • @c0balt :

Thanks for your input. We will keep this in find for next post :)

i ended up getting an i7 512gb SP3 for around 640 after the discounts, can't argue with that price!

        • Great bargain, well done. Not that the i7 makes much of a difference compared to the i5 day to day (both dual cores with 4 threads and similar clocks), but the extra SSD space will make a big difference and well worth the extra money.

Now you just need to keep an eye out for a bargain on the keyboard.

        • @c0balt: ended up getting an as new pro chiclet keyboard with fingerprint reader (fingerprint reader is useless btw) from gumtree for $140 and convinced the seller to throw in an original pen with a broken stylus. 5 minutes to remove the broken stylus + $11 for a 3 pack of styluses from ebay and we were good to go!

Protip: Not that anyone will ever read this but if you have the SP3 pen with the purple button on top they require specific SP3 tips, the SP4/Pro tips don't fit!

    • Hi Joely

Thanks for purchasing with us we have surface book in stock too .

      • Patiently waiting for SP4 i5 to be $500 again

  • i will admit - the pick for this post isn't the greatest, but there are some solid deals hidden away here.

    • Hi Fratzhaus,

Thanks for your input. We will keep this in mind while posting the next deal.

  • Note to anyone buying from renewd: don't get anything less than "excellent condition"

Or at least MAKE SURE you read what the condition is (the full description) before buying.

  • Bring back the cheap Broadwell-era Spectre X360s :(

  • Have bought several items from these guys, good service. Ignore the use of the word good/great/excellent and instead read the description.

  • if i had spotted it:
    https://renewd.com.au/collections/laptops/products/hp-pavili…

better deal than what i got

    • That's almost just worth it for the 2x 8GB DDR4 2133mhz modules (if not a misprint as it shows 1x 8GB further in the description).

  • Hey rep, all the desktop options say "pickup Melbourne only": does that mean you don't ship desktops at all?

    • Hi ,

Thanks correct we do not ship desktop.

They are available for pickup from our Melbourne Warehouse.

  • How often do you restock?

Was going to grab a laptop (Lenovo 510 yoga) for my son yesterday but by the time I got to try to buy they were all gone.

  • Any good deals similar to this?? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/394340

  • Wow! Ordered yesterday and came today. So stoked with my purchase…!

    • Same! Looks mint!

      • Mint as in it looks new?

        • +2

Yeah, I ran a dozen checks with it all passed, and it turns out mine came with a discrete graphics card - or at least the checks say it does…

I'm not familiar with amd pc's/behaviour and I'm adjusting to it, but there's not even a scratch on this thing. The only minor issue I could find was that the sticker was a tiny with scuffed.. Otherwise yeah, mint.

I can't state how surprised I am with this, it's too good to be true material yet it rocked up in under 24hrs of ordering in incredibly secure packaging.

        • @fratzhaus:
Refreshing to hear positive feedback on something I would have thought would arrive scratched and dented. Sounds like a great buy even with the slight price increase. Thanks for being in-depth.

        • @fratzhaus:

Thanks for the kind words. Good to hear you like our purchase :)

  • Purchased a laptop on Monday and turned up Tuesday (Sydney), super impressed with service and quality, laptop was lowest grade so wasn't expecting much, clover cable for charger has some tape around it but is easily replaced and keyboard / top cover is very slightly loose in one corner but otherwise perfect.

    Will definitely be purchasing again.

  • Prices of low end laptops jacked by $80 yesterday, others seem to be increased $40 to $80.

Still reasonable prices but deal over?
