Better to buy now with the 10% off code .. rather than wait for prices to go up for the 20% off deal.

    • 10% only gives max 100 bucks discount… Better to buy elsewhere…

  • Any Apple TV 4K deals? Unsure if search link works on mobile.

    • Do yourself a favour and grab a NVidia shield instead.

      • No thanks.

      • I've been watching the Nvidia Shield game editions for a while now, none seem cheaper on this Ebay 20% sale - so far the best price seems to be off Ebay.

      • Here is why I'm set on the Apple TV.

        • Definitely not for me.

  • +4

Allphones jack up there prices well above RRP which takes away from it being a true 20% off. Because of this I would rather buy from another seller even if it was slightly more expensive.

  • -5

Let me ask the standard questions:
    Code not working?
    Any deals?

    • +1

      Starts 4/9/18 10:00am

  • Has anyone bought a Sony seconds TV before? Previous posts seems a bit of a hit and miss

    • 4 words - Do not do it.

    • I'd be wary. Messaged them this morning asking if a refurbished Sony phone was still rated as IP68 and did the warranty cover it to be rated as such.
I got a very friendly reply which completely ignored the question.
I think its a case of buyer beware, and in the words of Plush Toys, Do not do it.

    Hi,

    Are there any airpod deals?

    Thanks

    • +7

how about you look and find out?

      • -1

Thanks, no need to be rude!

  • +2

Just came for a quick browse of the comments and still seeing jack jack jack jack jack jack popping up everywhere.

    Getting so boring.
At least a year ago there are still true decent deals among some of the usual sellers.

Now everyone are just the same.

If eBay is absorbing these cost, they should stop these 20% off to participating sellers…..Rather just target certain group of continuing buyers a unique code for 10 to 20% off their purchase .

These way would stop the sellers jacking over the roof.

    So bored.

    • -6

Does it matter? Its a deal. You should be grateful for 20% off at no cost to you. Pessimists people live shorter.

      • +3

Not quite a deal when they raise the price by 18% above RRP and give you 20% off that price which equate to roughly 2_5% discount.

The site wide is better. At least the private small sellers don't jack

    • Or just turn on price history for all items. They won't as OzBargain is a small part of their market and most people see 20% and jump on it thinking they're getting a bargain.

    • that is what is getting annoyed, that fact that ebay is picking up the 20% cost , it’s not the seller doing it to make sure they don’t sell below cost eg if there is only a 10% margin.

  • There's a laptop on Greys Online that I want - seriously tempted to buy it now and wait to checkout until tomorrow…but worried they might try to cancel the order or similar between now and then.

  • does cashrewards stack with this?

    • Yes.

  • Are any of these sellers (apart from Sony) trustable with aus phone stock?

    • All phones claim they have AU Stock

      • +1

Despite saying they're based in australia, shoppingsquare seems to be shipping from Hong Kong anyway. I assume this means they don't issue tax invoices either?

    • +4

Allphones is Australian stock, but they always “adjust” their prices prior to these 20% off sales. I think you’ll find a better deal through a store that isn’t participating in this sale using the 10% off site wide code.

  • Do we know how long this one/sale will last?

  • +2

Anyone having trouble with the PIXEL code?

(Never mind, I thought it was Tuesday already. :) )

  • +1

Does anybody have any past experience with My Phonz? Are they legit?

    • Stick to all phones

      • Yea but all phones have jacked up their prices on everything, My Phonz actually has some decent deals. Just want to know if they are legit before purchasing from them.

  • If i buy a google pixel with the ebay code pixel. Will ebays web server implode?

    • username checks out

  • Price jacked according to Allphones websites. They have priced for$779 for oppoR15 pro and on eBay $860.

  • But, where does the meat go?

    https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/200W-Electric-Food-Slicer-Slices-M…

Any deals on Western Digital Black 4TB??

    There’s WD Red and IronWolfs….

Wanting to buy Microsoft Wireless Desktop 900 2.4GHz USB Standard Keyboard and Mouse Combo from futu_online, price has been jacked up from $39 to $55

  • +4

Camera house also jacking up prices.

    • they restored their price to RRP last night. Very disappointed.

    • +1

they also removed several items. from 145 to 89 Olympus products

  • Anyone reckon the dell xps 13 Delli5-8250U 8GB RAM 256GB SSD 13.3” FHD going for 1.4k after discount is a good deal?

  • I had the Dell Inspiron 11 in my cart for $299 due to the $50 instant cashback and now it's $324 with $25 cash back only :(

  • -3

Now almost 9hrs into the deal in the East and no one's posted any deals worth mentioning. Shows how popular these 20% off eBay deals are getting sarcasm

    • +2

The deal hasn't even gone live yet.

      • I stand corrected.

But deal hasn't started yet and ppl are screaming jack's name… guess I'll just sit tight and see what comes out of this deal.

        • I doubt if Jack will sleep in.

He prob already worked overtime last Night to get the price FIXED already.

        • Pretty sure Jack started his pre-planning as soon as he got the heads up about the upcoming 20% off deal ;)

  • Hi Guys, Anyone else getting issues with the PIXEL code? I get this message whenever I try to apply code at checkout "We ran into a problem. Please try again later."

I was getting the same error message for the last 10% off PHENOM deal. Any workarounds for this problem?

    • Did you move your account to the US recently?

      • I moved my account to AU recently from Qatar like a month ago. PENNY5 works fine with my account which I believe is also an AU offer.

        • Hmm that's odd then, just live chat eBay and ask them to make a code for you, that usually works out perfectly!

  • +1

I have been watching Ipad 2018, it was cheaper with 10% off sitewide than this 20%off selected stores. Scumbags.

    • As i advised yesterday

  • Edit.

  • The is ridiculous, if Ebay/Paypal do nothing about the price jacking I'll gladly pay more elsewhere.

I am building a new PC so looked over most of the parts on this sale. Ended up paying a little bit more (~3%) to get it all at PC Case Gear.

  • Just received this message from AllPhones after trying to buy the Samsung S8:

Due to some issue, allphone is no longer one of the stores eligible for this promotion this time.

    Kind regards

    Jay
    Allphones Online(eBay)

They got removed for price jacking

  • +3

eBay price jacking has even made the news :)

    https://www.news.com.au/finance/business/retail/ebay-slammed…

    • So the rule is they are not allowed to jack up the price within 7 days… We should report all sellers that do this now… Pressure eBay.

      • Yeah just read that, didn't know that before.

        • +3

It's probably a rule that they just made up to make it seem like they aren't to blame otherwise the media would have blasted them instead!

They found a scapegoat so used it.

        • @blacknwhite1:

eBay charge them that much what the sellers going to do :(

        • @superforever: not be part of it or prob just remove listings..

      • Perhaps let news.com.au know that their article did little when the filth price-jack … because, let's be honest, eBay couldn't really care less.

      • +1

So the rule is they are not allowed to jack up the price within 7 days

They shouldn’t be allow to remove items the night before neither

    • eBay price jacking has even made the news :)

My guess is that several sellers wont join these promotions any more. They wont take the risk.

  • What a bloody mess :(

  • It is a bit like $1 supermarket milk.

  • Allphones must be pretty bad if they're the only far (SO FAR) to be kicked off the promotion

  • +1

This is the BS response I got from the goodguys when they jacked the price of a product mid-eBay sale, noting the bit at the end where there is a catch-all allowing them to increase prices IF a "previously advertised promotional activity" ends … flogs.

"The Good Guys will not increase the eBay price of any product that is part of the promotion on The Good Guys’ eBay store from 7 days before the promotion until it finishes, unless the price increase occurs as result of the end of previously advertised promotional activity in catalogues or supplier-funded promotions."

  • Allphones should state the reason for opting out of the promotion.

Man up to the fact they are out for doing the price jacking.

Hopefully this stirs up the storm and stop the other sellers jacking

    • Opting out? Don't you mean removed?

“This seller has been removed from this promotion as they are in breach of our retail promotion terms and conditions,” the spokeswoman said.

      • Removed by eBay?

If the spokeswoman is eBay staff, then they should remove all sellers who jack

        • +3

Most of them do price jacking. I think eBay should have a rule that if a seller want to participate in this type of promotion, it must not list the price more than RRP.

        • @hawkeye93:

And enforce the rule for not changing price 7 days before promo

        • @hawkeye93: I like the sentiment, but the problem with a lot of tech items is that actual prices drop quite rapidly and the RRP can be largely irrelevant.

Eg. was just on eBay and saw a Samsung Evo 970 500gb drive had been reduced from a price of $1199 to $325. Next listing, same item, was 'reduced' from $399 to $325.

        • @djkelly69: yeah, you're right. And they still have to incur the eBay and Paypal fees anyway. So a little bit over their websites' prices is still OK (in case their websites' prices are reasonable too).

        • @djkelly69:

They should simply enforce a block out period so prices for retailers participating in the sale can't be revised upwards for a week or so before the discount goes live

  • -3

Well Done Guys, let me just say I am not a Retailer or in ebay business but no wonder it is so hard to be successful in running a small business. Sure the price was over RRP (by the way RECOMMENDED means Recommended last time I look at the dictionary). as you guys pointed out, Ebay charges alot of fees and charges to these resellers.

And Now can you find a cheaper price with Local Australian Stock with a Tax Invoice? People in business needs to make ends meet too and if you think you are hard done by, simple just dont buy it or support your grey imports who employ no one in Oz.

Talk about shoot yourself in the foot and storm in a tea cup.

    • +1

      Well said.

But it all comes down to greed.
If eBay are charging sellers more on these promotions, then eBay is the devil.

But if eBay are NOT charging sellers more, then sellers are jacking prices to increase their profit margin coz of greed. If it is the case, why would you support them with your hard earned money ?

Support locals all the way if they stand up and speak out loud letting the buyers know they are getting ripped of by eBay too and hence the unreasonable high RRP.

I am sure if they are reasonable , everyone would still support them.

      Thoughts?

  • All people are asking for is a legit percentage off. If 5% or 10% is all they can give then so be it.

I rather that than some bs 15% or 20% off overinflated prices. Which turns out to be just 2 to 3% discount when compared to what an item has been selling for.

They cry foul like the other retailers aren't subject to the same scrutiny.

I ordered a TV from videopro with C&C (delivery was an extra $45) but I just got confirmation they sent it delivered to my address for free anyway! That's awesome!

    • +1

From my experience I can really say their customer service is second to none.

    • Can you use eBay's best price guarantee against it?

  • futu_online selling the dji mavic 2 zoom and pro for $2374 and $2730. So much jacked up compared to their Australian RRP of $2000 and $2300 respectively.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DJI-Mavic-2-Zoom-48MP-Optical-Ca…

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/DJI-Mavic-2-Pro-Hasselblad-Camer…

  • Any deals with Nikon D750 Body ? Grey is 1500, Ryda is a sweet AU $2,898.85!
camerahouse is 2,449 which seem to be the RRP for the past 3 years.

    Add gst to 1500 it's 1650. 20% off 2500 is 2000. Still a 350 gap there.

  • Any laptops with a decent graphics card?

  • Best price for the Hisense 75P7 until the end of today ($2384 pickup QLD or $2461 delivered). Some price jacking has occurred of course.
