Greetings everyone, another great sale on these Vacuums. The second generation model is one of the cheapest prices it has been for Australian stock, and the 1st generation is at another great price, not the lowest ever but still great!

  • Does anyone know what the combo packs are? Are they items that normally come with the robot vacuum? Are they unnecessary extras? Was about to pull the trigger but am worried the base model is a stripped back version of what you get elsewhere.

      Gen 2 comes with 4 extra mop tank filters, two micro fibre mops and two hepa filters. This is more than enough to last quite a while. Don't bother with the combos.

      You do not need purchase combo from beginning.You only need Combo Accessories after 3 or 6 Months time depend how often you use the vacuum. We put combo pack so customers can save extra on Accessories.

        • I bought from a seller with 100+ positive reviews over a 6 month period (now after a month they have 50+ negative reviews), they sent a toy key and three weeks later I'm still waiting for the eBay money back guarantee to actually refund me… So far I've found eBay plus to be a royal pain and not worth the money. Needless to say, just because eBay suggests a cheaper item matching the MPN doesn't mean it's safe to buy.

    Mop function is not that great. I would recommend the first generation.

      I love the mop on mine. I use it many times each week. Handy when you need to clean up after a toddler.

    • The 0.5cm of climbing helps a lot with 2nd Gen not getting stuck like the 1st Gen

    The S50 is amazing, you shouldn't be disappointed. Robovacs have revolutionised the way that floors are kept clean much the same way as what dishwashers did for kitchens IMO.

      i bought gen1 then sold it unopened, thinking it'll make me lazy and i should move my ass more on housekeeping while exercise at the same time

      but now i'm tempted to get 1 for the 2nd time as i didn't bother to keep my place clean

  • How is gen2 for pet hair? I have a shorthair cat, but naturally hairs will be on the ground.

      Very good on hard floors (no idea about carpet). We have a king charles cavalier that sheds a lot daily and the S50 does a fantastic job picking it all up. Just have to empty the bin after each clean as it fills up quickly with dog hair.

    All my other devices are on the singapore server, so reluctant to move over to the china server…

      We have been advised Zoned Clean for the global version will have beta version at Oct and formal version around Nov-Dec.

    • Nah, cheapest was like $300 around late last year. The past year the cheap prices has mainly been like $310-320ish.

    • Yep. Pretty bare bones but you can start and stop a clean.

  • I don't want to negative the posting, but as a general comment about Gearbite, I have not been impressed with the way that they handle warranty claims.

    I bought a Gen 1 vacuum from them and after a while (close to 12 months) it developed an error (code 18). It was only then that I discovered that Gearbite does not have a phone number to ring. But I sent a message through ebay and they responded. Each time I followed their advice and each time the email came back from a different person.

    Finally they told me to send it back (at my expense). It had been over a month and I hadn't heard anything. I emailed them a couple of days ago (I had been overseas) and was asked who I was. Then I was told that they would find out what was going on but I am still waiting.

    It may not be the same for everyone but I have not been impressed with their customer service.

          To their credit, the person from Gearbite refunded the price of the old vacuum.

    Been resisting this xiaomi vacuum deal for the past year, cant hold it back no more got myself a 2nd gen tonight. It will motivates my baby to crawl. I am now hoping xiaomi will include lawn mowing feature on their 3rd gen.

    I bought the Gen1 from your store last year and cant get It to work properly. The machine gives commands in Mandarin so I don’t know what it is saying, and I cant find a way to switch commands to English.

    Is there an easy way this can be done ?

    • You've synced up the vacuum to your Mi Home app?

      Language settings are controlled through the app I believe

      Xiaomi recommends every 3 months but I stretch it out to 6 months and clean the filter every month or so.

      I got my last accessory pack from shoppingsqaure online I believe it was posted on ozb

      The app has a timed countdown which is pretty spot on. Once mine reached the end I could see my filter was pretty clogged. Tried vacuuming it clean but ended up replacing it anyway. New filters are washable

        • Yep. I bought some aftermarket washable filters for my gen1. Two for just under $10

    Bought a gen 2 on monday morning, shipped the same day and got a tracking number.

    However the tracking have not move since its being picked up in the au post website :(.

    It was meant to be delivered Tuesday and still not here yet. I have lodge a ticket with AU post to see what happen.

    If it went missing at the end will i get a refund?

    • I'm in the same situation. I thought it was a bit suss that it was picked up so quickly. But since then have received no updates and now showing on the tracking as 'delayed'

        • Ordered and got mine (Gen2). It shipped from VIC and I am in VIC (Melbourne). It came a day later than expected. Very happy so far.

        • @Baksow: Yeah it updated (when the delivery was a day late) but it all came quickly. Had it within 2 days.

      • My tracking just updated and now says in transit. Also in Melbourne. Aus post explained that it was originally picked up from the seller and delivered to Aus post before it gets delivered. The ETA is therefore too optimistic and incorrect. Fingers crossed it'll come in the next day or two (as it should). Looks like some people have received theirs.

        • Mine always says in transit but the last tracking update shows its being picked up.

          I had a message from the seller saying that its actually have not been send? And it should be out by next Monday.

          Im not sure how they manage that but also update the au post tracking as already being picked up.

          They also mark the item as send in ebay which is not true

  • 420/480mL? How often do you have to empty the dustbin with such a small area that is like less than a water bottle of dirt.

    For my house that would fill up fast multiple times for a full house multiple room clean.

    • It depends on the floors and how much you run the vacuum and what not.

      I lived in a three 3 bedroom + 2 lounge room house; no carpet all floorboards - ran MON/TUES/WED and would need to empty twice a week no big deal.

      Downsized to a 2 bedroom apartment (brand new carpet) and it fills up after doing 3/4 the room lounge room. Now I just run manual zone clean ups on a daily basis which when you're used to it being automated is annoying but takes like 2 minutes out of my day.

  • Anyone received their vacuum yet? Mine says it should arrive last Thursday, still not here. Called Auspost, they said its only been notified to pick it up but may not have physically picked up yet even though the tracking says "in transit"…..

    • Mine said it should arrive last Tuesday. It still not arrive and the tracking has not change.

      Contacted the seller and they said it should be shipped today but seems that didnt happen either.

      • My tracking has finally been updated and the vacuuum is now at an auspost depot close to me. So hopefully yours should be moving along too.

  • Mine was supposed to delivered last Thurs 20th, but tracking only shows it picked up last Monday 17th . Contacted them on Monday 24th and they said they only sent it out on the 24th. Tracking still has not updated. Bit suss.

    I have one question: when I add the Robot to my existing profile which set region to mainland China as it is how i make my XiaoFang camera work, now the robot ask me to select the server for your current location by going to "profile—> setting—> Region", which region/serve should i select? or there is a workaround for it?

    • I had this same problem… it refused to let me go Mainland china for some reason… I had to migrate my profile over to singapore because I couldn't find another way. If somehow you get it working on mainland china please let me know!

      • Can the camera still working after you migrate your profile to singapore ?

  • Purchased Ver2. 17/9. Received shipping details inc tracking details and as above no movement.
    Have contacted twice through EBAY and no reply.
    At best poor customer service.

    • I Was told in an earlier email that my item was finally sent 25/09, well that turned out to be a lie because shipping updates continued to stay stagnant. Sent them another email and they said it’s been sent yesterday 02/10.

  • Still waiting for mine. Contacted them again and they said they would send it out on Monday 1st Oct. 3rd Oct I check on ebay and I get a second tracking number with no information. Going to be 3 weeks and waiting for an item that was supposed to be in stock, shipped from Melb. I think its coming from China. These people are liars, I wonder what would happen with a warranty claim with them?

  • Finally arrived today via the second tracking number. Tried it out, the app needs to connect to the Singapore server. When connecting to the China server it would not clean. Cleans well on tile and floor boards, does not like rugs or cables/extension cords. Even tissues seem to cause it wind the tissue into a cigar roll and not suck them into the box.

    • Sorry for the trouble this time. Pre-order was suppose to post around 26th or 27th September , but we got stocks earlier at 24th September. So most of deal Orders fulfill around 24th September.But We made mistake for 12 customers’ order which did not post on time. We finally find the orders , fix the problems and dispatch from our Sydney warehouse. We still work on new system with two warehouses now. Hope we can do much better next time.
