Exactly, not even a single $ sign.
We like to see prices. Bargains have prices. ® © ™ We have done this dance before.

Is this special treatment? Not biased at all alright..

  • Laptop noob here, the Lenovo yoga 520 looking like a great deal with 20% off

  • Could someone please share whether TGG price match with their eBay store deals? Or can we ask Harvey Norman/ JBHIFI to price match TGG eBay deal?
    Cheers

    • I would also be interested to know but I suspect not.

    • I have tried in the past and they don't.

    • +2

      they do not

  • I've been looking for a bar fridge for a while and seen this one, which is a wine fridge. Can I use it as a bar fridge, why isn't it really advertised as such? It has temperature control to get it cold? Beer, soft drinks, to be held in there. https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/hisense-30-bottle-wine-cooler…

    • +2

It may work as a beer fridge, but not sure about soft drink since people like to serve that alot colder.
The temperature range for this wine fridge is: 5~20c

Also it will probably cost more to run one of these than a beer fridge, as you will be losing some cooling from the glass frontage.

      • Also a wine cooler doesnt have a freezer section which many bar fridges have and could be important. Aldi has a bar fridge and bar freezer this week if you check their catalogueand is way cheaprt than this

    • Thanks for the replies, I am more looking for a beverage center, that's what they call them… Just to look good in a bar area I have just had built. The crisper and freezer aren't needed as we have 2 fridges and a freezer. This would be to separate out the low use items that we have, like beer, white wine, soft drinks. Also to fill the space under the bench I had left for it.

So if the wine fridge could be used and its about $400 then that is cheaper than the $800 ones I have seen which are for drinks..

    • Wont be that good as a beer fridge. That type of wine cooler uses Peltier cooling NOT refrigeration.
They generally will only cool down to 12 degrees and they use quite a bit of power compared to a refrigerated unit.

I have one similar for wine and just run it during the day on a timer when we are generating solar electricity. The thermal mass of 70 or so bottles of wine in there then keep the temperature reasonably constant when the power is cut overnight.

      • Thank you this is the info I was looking for

  • Argh! I need 20% off Dell!

  • Arrr no ring 2 video

  • Did anyone notice removal of items by the store before sale. I had samsung tab s2 in my watch list which now says listing ended - item unsold. I could not find any other Samsung tablets either.

    • Yea, basically they work out the stock which they have overstocked and want to get rid of, then the rest which are fine is ended.

  • Thanks…need a new fridge.

  • +5

Did anyone else notice that they bumped the Dyson V8 Absolute from $699 to $899? :(

  • going in before "do you have 10% good guys vouchers" posts

Does anyone know if TGG will hold items for delivery for 3 weeks?

Or am I better off just doing a C&C and getting it in 3 weeks time myself? Want to purchase some whitegoods, but don't want them until I need them.

    • +2

      They do. I've done that

    • Yes, they will hold it for a long time, however they will harass you to get it. After 28 days they have a right to refund the item and put it back on the shelf.

Otherwise, they will charge a "reasonable" storage fee.

    • Better call them up first. We have our whitegoods still on hold from the EOFY sale, told them would need to be delivered when our new house gets handover around end of the month. It might depend on which store as not all stores have a big warehouse at the back.

  • Looking at buying a fridge, how do I choose which side the door is mounted?

    • you can usually swap it over as there is a fitting on both sides

    • Check 'Door Hinge' in the description

    • thanks for the reply, seems theres not much info on the samsung product page. I'm not sure if it is a matter of just swapping the hinge side, as there is a handle on this particular fridge door.

Do these guys have a habit of pulling listings or price jacking like some of the other sellers?

    • +4

      These guys are good guys.

    • +3

Yes they've done it before. will most likely happen tomorrow too

    • +1

Yeah, they bumped up the hard drive this morning after a few people got in for 10%

    • +2

44 negative votes last time they ran a 20% off eBay promotion:

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/388254

    • +2

Yes stock removal and price jacking has already started.
Don't be a sucker for % off, always compare the final price with the rest of the market.

Any true bargains usually end up posted in their own topic.

      • Not so good guys then huh… bugger. Figured them being a reputable retailer they'd refrain from it. Actually looking for a deal on a coffee machine (my first non-tech related purchase in a while) since my current Aldi machine is leaking water out near the power switch.

  • Has anyone price matched TGG ebay sale prices to Harvey Norman? Would love to use the amex offer and gift cards

    • +1

HN might match catalogue deals, Noone matches eBay % off deals though.

  • I was looking for sunbeam em7000 yesterday. Damn if luck on my side, they won't jack up the price.

Edit. Just check the price is $650 so after discount should be $520. Is this good price?

    • +1

I got it from TGG for $399 though that was a special price from store approx 12 months ago. Seen it one more time around that price otherwise usually $499ish

      • Damnnn that's good price.

  • Need a dishwasher. Can anyone recommend anything from the Good Guys line-up? I have $500 worth of the ebay gift cards to use.

    • +2

Perhaps go the mighty bosch. This one is the base model by the looks of it

      The full list is here

      • +1

+1 for the Bosch, even the base model is fine, typically found for 600 bucks although occasionally see cheaper

  • Looking at purchasing a fridge with click and collect, however they are saying no stock anywhere which isn't the case. I have been into the shop and they have plenty in stock. What gives?

    • Maybe all their ebay stock ships out from a separate warehouse, not your nearest store? Or they are just lying.

      • Hmm weird they give the option to click and collect. Ahh well, still a good deal regardless.

        • +2

I noticed this too with a fridge I'm looking at.

The more expensive, nicer brand is in stock at all three closest stores, but eBay has none in stock with 150km.

But they'll happily charge the $55 delivery fee.

I feel it's a dirty tactic against the eBay sales, they change things to "in stock" for delivery only and recoup some of the discount cost in the delivery charge - delivery is only $35 on the website.

    • Need to have a minimum stock level, say 3+. Check their website for stock as well.

      • Called multiple stores and they all have more than 5 in stock.

Asked why I could not purchase on eBay and pickup from closest store and received the run around. The Good Guys couldn't give me a straight answer and told me to call eBay customer support, they then referred me back to The Good Guys.

Ended up just purchasing with the shipping.

  • Anyone know if GG 'price promise' off their eBay store with recent purchases?

    • Never mind. Must be instore and within 30km radius from store it was purchased.

  • +1

Missed out on the Rays 20% off Weber sale. Hopefully TGG don’t jack up their prices tomorrow so I can get it from them 20% off!

I can't find any Sonys either. Anyone know why?

Looking for the same thing here, if anyone can help. I don't know much about TVs and would appreciate the help.

  • https://ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Sony-ILCE6000LB-A6000-Mirrorless… $590 for the A6000 w/ 16-50mm seems like the cheapest it's been? Even cheaper if you have 10% off giftcards

  • Now all we need is a cash rewards or shop back increase to 3%!

  • I bought a item today from TGG at 10% off but they didn't confirm that click and collect was ready. I paid with a combination of eBay gift cards and PayPal Any suggestions for what to do?

Can anyone recommend a decent laptop for a good price, I am thinking around the 700 mark? Using it really as a computer for study.

  • Just pulled the trigger on something for 10% off this morning! Just my luck! Anyone know if they will refund the difference or do I have to return and purchase again ? Not sure if I can even do that. Annoying.

    • -1

Don't worry, they will price jack or remove the listing.

  • Does anyone know if cashback promotions are eligible with GG ebay purchases? (i.e. https://www.bosch-home.com.au/promotions)

    • I don't see why not. TGG provides a proper tax invoicen with receipt number and you use that as proof of purchase. Just have to buy the corresponding model that is eligible for cashback and those are usually the more pricey ones.

  • With the DJs combination and baby expo offer passing, is the V10 Absolute at $999 (-20% off) a good deal?

  • For pretty much the same price what would you guys recommend between the GoPro Hero 7 White (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-GoPro-GPCHDHB-601-Hero7-White…) and the GoPro Hero5 Session (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-GoPro-GPCHDHS-502-Hero5-Sessi…)

    Thanks!

  • Been watching the Braun Iron for the sammich maker. Will see if they price jack or not

  • No SONY TVs….

  • Haven't logged in for a while but recently try to purchase a washing machine, found this deal. Really appreciate the post. Will find a deal tomorrow, time to pull the trigger. Cheers

  • looking at getting a portable Aircon. The store near me has no stock for C&C on ebay. But when I checked on their website, it's in stock. The shipping fees on ebay is ridiculous 80 $.

    • Whereabouts are you?

  • Was this Dyson V8 price jacked up?
Sold on the 2nd Oct for $699, but now $899
    https://offer.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidsLogin&ite…

  • Anyone know if we are able to purchase from TGG tonight, and wait until 10am to pay with the 20% off? That would assure we lock in the price if/before they jack up tomorrow prior to the sale??

    • you seems never used ebay

  • Please help - if I buy an item at 10am but have to input 5 $100 PayPal gift cards is there a chance I might lose the item if it sells fast?

Also can I add my PayPal gift cards into eBay credit before the sale or it has to be done on the time of purchase?

    Thanks

    • +1

I haven't bought from Good Guys eBay store yet, but it doesn't state "immediate payment required" so you should be OK.

It should "buy" the item, and then you need to confirm payment/postage details afterwards.

Unless you "add to cart" and checkout - then you'll need to pay before the order is processed and stock confirmed

      • -1

Thanks but can I buy then enter the discount code?
I always add to cart and then checkout

        • +1

Should be able to, you add it as part of the payment info so it's done "after" buying the item.

  • Does anyone own the 55" Panasonic OLED? How is it for gaming/sports, everywhere I go say its bad for faster motion scenes.

    • Base on my experience Panasonic make good TV, very reliable and never break, but they never update their app or software.

      • same experience here.. i have the 55 oled … i dont game on it, and i dont watch sports on it LOL … otherwise its super fantastic for movies and 4k content is totally awesome. i would not recommend sports because of burn in issues. (if you watch sports for hours a day, the motion will be ok, but the scoreline constantly on the screen is a problem..)

  • Is this, with roughly 26% discount a good deal? https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Lenovo-80X8003NAU-Yoga-520-1…

  • +1

What would you guys recommend out of say the 55in LG 55UK6540PTD at $1036 (if its still there when 20% off starts, 1,295.00-20% = 1036) or the 55in Samsung UA55NU7100WXXY at $956 (1,195.00-20%= 956)? Mainly just watching tv and movies, some ps4/xb1/switch gaming but nothing that i'll be too anal about.

  • Hi, can anyone tell me what the refund policy for The Goodguys ebay store and also Ted's cameras? Is it store credit or full refund for both stores?

I bought a GoPro Hero 7 from Ted's a couple of weeks ago with their 15% off sale and it still hasn't come because of of the high volume of orders. I leave for my holiday tomorrow so I would like to get a refund from Ted's the the GoPro and just click and collect from TGGs.

    Thanks
