    Amazon Black Friday deal was far superior especially if you wanted Spider-Man but this is still a great price for the console with the best games this generation.

        I played GT5 a fair bit, enjoyed some, but the sections where you farm out large driving sections to a bot were bizarre.

          theres a fine line between giving the gamers what they wants VS giving the game designer what they want. i think in gt's case, theyve given a bit too much leniency to the dev's to go wild

            @DiscoJango: Polyphony Digital should have done more. However, got to give them a bit of credit for adding more contents in (i.e. GT League - which is basically offline mode though short). Sure, Forza Horizon 4 is probably more fun for most people, but GT Sport has done enough for me (considered how little I paid for it). I just generally don't enjoy games that drag on too much.

            Racing fans would prefer PC or XB1 simply because there are more titles and variety from FH4 and FMS7. I still have active GamePass subscription (from the $1 per month deal) and already finished RDR2, yet I have no interest to play FH4 anymore - just finding it repetitive and not motivated to spend time collecting credits to buy the remaining houses, could not be bothered paying other players to buy credits from them to buy those houses). For $2, I certainly got my money worth out of FH4, but I personally wouldn't pay for FH4 (I already paid for FH2, FH3 and FMS7). I spent so little time on FMS7 it really was a waste of money for me.

        😂 GT Sport was only ever intended to be a online sim but nobody followed its development, blindly bought the game & was bitterly disappointed even though there was about 50 hours of single player content before the updates. It's plenty of fun if you enjoy competitive multi-player otherwise best you wait for GT7.

          That comes down to poor communication on sonys behalf then. If "no one" knew it was supposed to be an "online only simulator" and Sony did, well that says something.

            @DiscoJango: Played both. Enjoyed both and got tired of both fairly quickly. GT Sport is more like Forza Motorsport 7 than Forza Horizon. Also, I thought most people knew GT Sport is not like the normal GT.

            While Forza Horizon 4 is probably more fun for most people, after playing all 4 seasons once, I got tired of it. Just cannot be bothered spending time collecting CRs to buy those last few expensive houses. Also, it does feel that Microsoft milk their customers on Forza a bit too much for this gen (I own FH2, FH3 and FMS 7). I am glad it is $1 for Game Pass in Nov and Dec. It is a PlayAnywhere title so I can play it on Windows 10 as well.

            Had more fun with FH4 than GT Sport, but children in my household prefer GT Sport (because of the motion control mode on dual shock 4) - weird because I cannot play properly with motion control on DS4.

            @DiscoJango: No they never sold it as anything but an online sim & the title is a dead giveaway, not GT7, "Sport" that thing we do with & against others. It has FiA accreditation, something no other racing game except GT6 has achieved.

      Only the Pro 70xx series is really bad. Get in on the Spidey bundle (71xx) or RDR2 bundle (72xx) series and it's OK.

          Some newer games (and older games that have been updated with Pro support) have built-in Pro performance modes, and they very obviously perform better when compared to a Slim.

          I don't think anyone would be unhappy with the performance of a Slim, but it's not a negligible difference as you're insinuating.

      Even if you have a 1080p display get a pro, so much better in every aspect & all Pro models started out quiet, my launch model was silent for by he first 12 months. Taking into consideration the new model runs hotter yet is quieter & Sonys poor quality & application of thermal products the new model will also be loud in 12 to 18 months.

      I just stripped down my launch pro & replaced the thermal paste & pads with Thermal Grizzly, the fan still spins up but nowhere near as loud as it was. Also bought a slim last month d the UI is laggy as all hell.

        That's some pretty broad advice, while I think the Pro is worth the extra over the Slim, I wouldn't recommend it to everyone.

        If you appreciate console gaming and the exclusives the PlayStation has to offer, get the Pro, but if you're a parent just looking to buy a console for your child, the Slim is the better option.

From my experience with the Pro, slim & og PS4 you'd be best to avoid the slim, I've only had the slim since the 4th of December & I've already had to reinstall the system software which would be a monumental headache for a parent with no idea.

                        @Liamhos08: If money isn't an issue, then they can buy their child a unicorn for all I care, but I think it's ill-advised to tell everyone to not buy a Slim simply because you've had a bad experience with one.

                        For the record, I own a Pro console and have previously owned a Slim also, and I agree with what you've said comparing the two, although they are both suited to different people.

While I didn't buy my daughter a one X for Christmas I did get her the 1TB minecraft xbox which cost me $400 & if the X was available for $500 I probably would have got it for her, I'm by no means well off but it tis the season to spoil them rotten 😂 anyway, Merry Christmas.
