Have this pie maker. Love it. Have been making pulled pork pies. Delish! This sounds super cheap too!

This deal is excellent and needs more upvote, thank you so much OP, grabbed Magic x 2. :)

We've got a Sunbeam Pie Magic that does 4 pies at a time and it's been awesome. The missus usually does up a batch of meat in the slow cooker and then freezes them in serves. Good for nights when you don't feel like cooking up a meal from scratch.

    • +1

Do you freeze the meat and make the pie straight from frozen? Or make pie and freeze that?

      • +1

We freeze the meat and gravy mixture and then defrost it when we are going to use it. Doesn't take long to defrost because it's spread out thinly in a bag. Good for an easy meal after a long day or on the weekend.

    Thanks OP. Got one.

Something to try over the holidays, cheers :)

    • then it goes to op shop

    Does this model float?

I have been looking to make pie floaters but have had bad luck with floating pie cookers.

  • +2

We got the Kmart 4 pie cooker for about $30. Short crust bottom, puff on the top. Slow cooked meat is the best but you can even get the really chunky soups and use that as filling when you're really lazy. Or a tin of apples mixed with a bit of sugar and cinnamon.

    • short crust bottom puff top is same as wonder pies …..was wondering which pie makers can do that …

  • Any idea if this is dual voltage? Thinking it could make a nice gift for an expat friend living overseas.

    • +2

No as it would be a resistive heating element.

It if was just a resistive element (no other electronics) it would work, but it would only generate 1/4 of the heat when used on 110 volts.

      • Correct

Ordered - keen to try it out. Thanks op.

If you have 2 people is fine. But if there is 4 of you. It become not a good deal, if the 4 pies maker is on special.

    • +8

I just purchased 2 of them

    • +3

2 of these is still cheaper than a 4 pie model.

It's also better if you are not going to always make 4 pies.

  • +1

    Grabbed one cheers OP!

  • +6

I've been after one of these for years now.

    Making pies is easy..

Step 0. Preheat oven to 220 degrees
Step 1. Place a frozen puff pastry square down on a flat tray..
Step 2. Make filling(as puff pastry defrosts on tray)
Step 3. Place filling on one side of puff pastry
Step 4. Fold puff pastry over…
Step 5. Drop oven temp to 200deg and place tray in oven. Cook for 25mins or until golden brown.

This method creates less wastage, is quicker and tastes the same.

These novelty devices just take up space on the bench top and/or cupboard.

    • Step 5. Eat thawed puff pastry ?

    • But but but, these pie makers make it look nice

    • +2

folded over pastry is a pastie not a pie, or a giant samosa .

      • technically you're correct but the constituents are the same…

      • Or an empanada.

    Thanks OP! Ordered.

  • Price back up! In a way, good that I missed out - wallet is happy.

Managed to snag one. They had me at cherry pie.

  • am waiting for the 4 pies maker. Please let me know if they are on sale. Thanks
