I used to be with Kogan, but Belong is so much better now.
Activate on $40 plan (starter packs on special for $15), get 30GB data banked, move to $10 plan, $20 referral credit.

    • Total cost $105 for 12 months,
    • 40GB to use whenever you want,
    • better coverage
    • shaped if you run low (no cutoff or excess cost)

Belong offers a voice->text service which I'm not keen on, but you can divert free to where-ever, so I use a voicemail->email from MyNetfone for $10/year, and can use same account for international VoIP calls.

      $40 plus 11months of $10 is $150 not $105

      • -1

        $15 initially.
$20 credit to pay for 2 months at $10 per month
        then $10 for remaining 10 months…

        $15 + $100 ($10x10) = $115

      • +4

OP didnt run down the exact math but its 105
        $40 starter pack for $15
        + 11 months @ $10 = 110
        total = $125
        minus $20 referral credit = $105

Hmmm very interesting. Thanks for this. The catch 80gb for $99 is still better though hmm

catch current deal, plus catch club fee.

        80GB $135
        42GB $99.5

        • Sorry yeah I meant the 42gb.. But yeah that needs club catch or a kind member with a club catch account.

This Belong workaround is quite comparable though.

    • For an very small user thats a pretty nifty deal, i'll remember that one! I got a few relos on Kogan 23GB @ $21 per month and they are very happy. Telstra coverage being better is a bit of a fringe outlier factor these days but any carrier can be better for a particular user simply from a combination of where they are and where the nearest towers are. My old man lives in an area just out of metro and only telstra has a usable signal (crap, but usable)… voda and optus you need to hold your phone up high. Losing ADSL soon for wireless NBN there sure that will be fun.

plus $20 for any other referrals you give to other people (eg: via ozb website)

    • Can you steer me in the right direction where I can find the 40GB starter pack on special for $15 ?.. I want to get off Kogan, in the hope it gives me better reception on my ride to and fro on the rail network between City-Liverpool
I'm searching everywhere but can't find it.. I can see ones that at 15GB.. but not 40GB.. many thanks!

      • Check here

        Maybe Coles?

        • Thanks.. but is it 40GB ?.. no worries.

  • Just a quick question does Kogan have Vodafone's visual messaging and wifi calling services?
Thinking of moving to Kogan but where i work we don't have good reception for any network so it will be very useful for me.

Currently with boost and it has Telstra's wifi calling services but would like to save money and switch to Kogan.

    Thanks

  • Don't no if anyone noticed when it's at $161 if you go to purchase it then cancel the next day it drops down to $152 when you get the email notice I noticed it on other kogan products as well. :)

  • Where do i get kogan gift cards or voucher?

  • Is there any expiry date on this deal (to get the voucher, not to activate), can't see it?

    • Limited time only so I suppose it could expire at any moment.

  • Belong has better coverage? what is that based on?

  • Does anyone know if I can use this SIM or any data-only SIM in a mobile 4G modem? Thanks.

  • how long does it take to receive voucher code?

    • I received mine in 13 minutes.

      • ah nice i go to order history and now its saying voucher sent. where do i see the code?

        nvm: found it

  • where u guys get Kogan gift card or kogan voucher to get the price lower?

    • The vouchers are pretty well useless now that they require a $1249 minimum spend. Same goes for referral links as they increased the minimum spend from $100 to $200.

Gift cards were 10% off at Woolworths and eBay, but both those deals expired in December.

The classified section is probably your best bet.

  • I'm currently on the medium 365 plan (13Gb). No problems with it, but it's way more data than I use. 3Gb would be plenty for me.
Has anyone used this plan to recharge a higher plan? Just interested in case they don't allow you to downgrade.

  • Looking for 365, Extra Large (40 Gb) Kogan Half Price :D
