    Pending: Validating your Cashback
We've received your order details and it is being validated by amaysim Mobile. You can expect confirmation by 20 Mar 2019 when our partner store ensures that you did not make any cancellation, return or exchange. Otherwise, the cashback will be adjusted or voided.

Looks like I have to pay for 3 months to Cashback. Looks like trap.

    • +3

      Above:

You can expect confirmation by 20 Mar 2019 when our partner store ensures that you did not make any cancellation, return or exchange. Otherwise, the cashback will be adjusted or voided.

This is to ensure that you are actually keeping the product and not just buying it, earning the cashback, and returning it.

Also, be sure you disable auto-renew within the Amaysim dashboard.

      • How do u disable auto-renew? I could only change payment method to bpay..

        • +1

Go here (make sure you are logged in) and change it to bpay/vouchers. when you receive and activate your sim, come back and disable auto-renew however if you have bpay selected as the payment method, you shouldn't have to disable it.

Just to be sure, double check once activated.

  • Can we disable auto-renew straight after activation?

  • Just curious how many people will ACTUALLY receive cashback.

    • +1

Everyone as long as you follow the terms.
You will receive cashback within 90 days of confirmation.

  • Have 3 pending amaysim cashbacks, 1 from Shopback and 2 from Cashrewards. Worth risking a fourth?

    • +3

Just make a new email :-)

      It isn't that risky

      • +4

        Okay 3 negative votes???
        whattt?

Considering that it's been done before I don't see why I am getting negatives ._.
If someone could please explain I'd love that….
I mean what I am saying isn't breaking the TOS for cashrewards and shopback……

      • I didn't neg you, but I think it's always about risk vs reward.

With this deal - especially if you don't plan to use the SIM, you can only earn $11. Or lose $10 if it goes wrong. For me that is not worth the risk and effort it takes.

The story was different with the last CR promo, $30 profit vs $10 possible loss. And I have experience with CR customer service, so far they always came through in the few cases when I had to make a claim.

        • +1

That's very true and I understand that.

In my personal (and life) experience, you don't gain anything if you don't risk anything.

          • @CC123: Yes. It's just that everyone will draw the line at a different point. Would you still do this deal with $11 cashback and the same $10 cost for a SIM you don't plan to use?

            • @team teri:

Yes. It's just that everyone will draw the line at a different point.

              True

Would you still do this deal with $11 cashback and the same $10 cost for a SIM you don't plan to use?

As it's only a $1 gain, it isn't really worth it. I see your point. It's all up to the buyer.

  • Does anyone know if the condition below from the recent $35 and $40 cash back deals from Cashrewards also apply for this deal from ShopBack?

    1. If you are an existing amaysim customer, you will need to create a new amaysim account with a new email address to be eligible for this offer.
    • +1

      Hi leockl,

Yes the same terms/conditions apply, a new account via a new email address is required if you're already an existing amaysim customer.

  • +4

OP why so stingy with the rebate? TA & Cashrewards gave us $25 & $30 respectively.

    • +6

What does the OP have to do with the rebate? He only posted the deal he is not working for shopback or anything. He doesnt decide how much cashback shop back is going to offer.

    • my mistake…..That should be Shopback

    • This all comes down to how much commission amaysim decides to pay us and them - we received an increase in commissions from amaysim earlier this month, which is why we were able to run this offer. TA/CR would have received a commission increase on those occasions you've mentioned as well.

Right now they're paying us lower commissions so unfortunately we can't increase our cashback any further as we'll be making a loss from it.

  • +2

Just be curious and wonder how do these tele companies make money if most of us just aim to take the cashrewards and disable the auto renewal….interesting… Is it a good way to invite new customers?

    • +9

They're hoping people forget to turn off auto-renew and/or keep the service. Another possibility is that adding new customers unlocks certain bonus payments/stock options to management.

  • its 21 on CS as well

  • I received my amaysim sim from the cashreward deal, went to activate it and it was already activated. Is this normal? I logged into my amaysim when I first paid for it and it wasn't activated at that stage.

    • +1

      yes, they come pre-activated.

    • Did you complete your ID verification after check-out? In that case they pre-activate it. I learned to skip that step and only do it after I receive the SIM.

    • My understanding is the SIM is activated if you do the ID check. Did you do that before the SIM arrived? I did and mine was.

      • +1

I don't believe I did an ID check, I paid by credit card.

Just want to make sure I get my cashback, I'm sure I will the sim is working fine.

  • +1

Argh why did I do this just before I want to go to bed. Purchase made, no email received or tracking showing up in Shopback account. I suppose I can wait until tomorrow morning to see if anything has shown up and then cancel the purchase via customer service?

/edit/ Just cashback anxiety, it's now showing in the Shopback account and I'm expecting the email to arrive overnight or tomorrow morning probably.

  • question do you have to verification email? I have been lately just in case but wanna know lol

  • Is this the case if I just change payment to BPAY will I not have to worry about being auto recharged every month?

  • @Shopback rep

    Just to be 100% sure,
I signed up for this same deal a few weeks back: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/429504
The code (10FOR10) and the validation date are the same (20 March)

So I can definitely apply for this one too (with a different email) ?

    • +1

Yes, you can take advantage of this one too (new account/email mandatory).

  • My cashback from last week hasnt tracked yet. Rep says wait for 7 days and submit a ticket but the sim would require activation by the 31st of Jan if I need to qualify for cashback. So if the cashback doesn't track, I would have ported my number out one month before my annual Kogan plan ended for no reason :(

    • Hi 0FoxGiven,

Sorry to hear that the transaction hasn't tracked. You can definitely submit a ticket/claim now - feel free to do so here or alternatively forward your invoice to [email protected].

      • -2

Whoops sorry… It wasn't with Shopback but Cashrewards

        • No worries.

      • -1

I did it, Cashback representative David requested to wait one week til 29-01.

        • +1

          Hi tapuz,

Are you getting us mixed up with CR? We do not have a representative named David and we're not requesting people to wait 7 days to submit a claim.

  • There is a reason Amaysim do these promo's, their service is terrible. I just ported out after 4 days and a non functioning service. No time for shit companies.

  • If I want to port my current number, but don't want to activate immediately, is there a way to do that? The registration page is asking for my current provider, but I still have credit available to use with my current provider before I switch.

Edit: braved it a bit further and this appears "FYI - you can start your number transfer whenever you’re ready."

    • I called them today asking about this and they noted that it can be done during the Activate SIM process. This is assuming you haven't yet Verified and received an already activated SIM.

Sidenote; I also asked them about SIM that is received as activated. They noted that one can call them and they will reset the activation date to the one you choose when actually inserting in the phone (within the boundaries of the current deal).

  • +3

My 2c worth. I have taken advantage of 4 deals with Amaysim, 3 with CR and one with SB in last week or so. As an existing Amaysim customer i have used 4 variations of my gmail by moving dots in my email address. To keep it simple and to make sure they were activated on time I activated at end of signup process, not fussed about losing a few days service as others have mentioned. Upon receiving my first sim it was 5 days into 28 day plan already but after inserting sim i got a txt explaining that they would reset the 28 days as i was only just using it now. Btw all my cashback through CR and SB tracked almost immediately. Hope this helps anyone in the future.

    • +1

Interesting. I must insert one I have here that expires on 31st but not in fact ever turned on. I don't care if it does expire BUT more as a matter of interest. Thanks for the heads up.

    • Just curious, what do you do with all the sims? Or you just let them expire?

      • +1

It depends. Can be used in a second phone or device for Mobile data. I sometimes use to make calls to places that I don't want knowing my actual real number(Support stuff). Sometimes, I just let them expire and buy just for the Cashback/Shopback $$. Either way not costing anything (as long as one remembers to deactivate Auto Renew and change Payment method to bpay.

    • If I want to buy multiple of these, I need to set up more than one Shopback account?

  • I am using one for the month, which saves me $20 on my regular month to month plan, and the 2nd one is a week or 2 behind that one so can use that for a week or so too. I guess the other 2 when they come will prob go to waste. Only problem is i have a dodgy phone number for a bit but worth it, saving extra $$$.

  • If I want to buy multiple of these, I need to set up more than one Shopback account?

    • +1

You are really only meant to have one Shopback account in your name.

  • +1

Now what accounts to open with all the new numbers. Uber/ GYG what else guys?

    • Hey you, Liven, Chgrill Charle's… any more?

  • Can I activate the SIM in a phone, then move it to a WiFi modem to use the data component?

    • Yes, you can move it from one device to another, just be careful of the SIM size.

You do not have to have it in a device to activate it.

Amaysim will probably send it activated, unless you did not do an ID check on sign up.

  • Just bought this.
    Shopback link said $25 cashback.

    • +2

I believe it said up to $25. The $25 cashback is for plans 20GB or over.
